tab Jules smiled a bit seeing that Jannet was so excited about the grappling hook. It was refreshing to see people taking an express interest in his inventions for purposes other than monetary gains. "I still need to work with Professor Vickers, but pretty soon these grappling hooks should be something that goes into wide-spread production for use on student missions" However, her next question was about the tests he'd administer to his hardstone paste, specifically regarding explosives. "Well It's proven to be resistant to basic black powder explosives and most easily producible Breaching charges. However, I haven't been able to do any tests against dust-based explosives due to the limited supplies of dust as is. Though I'd be more than willing to let you test your arsenal against it if there's a safe place to perform such tests. I don't know where that would be, but I'm always up for finding new ways to test and improve my inventions!" He really did seem quite excited to test out his inventions. Jules was always eager and willing to improve however he could, be it himself as a person, or the capabilities and utility of his inventions.

Jannet seemed quite excited to hear the grappling hook will be available in mission as soon as they finalize it, would have made their last mission a little easier but… it would be lovely to have in the next mission she goes to with Prince “I can’t wait for it to be used more than showing it, I bet the other students would love it!” she said excitedly before he talked about the hardstone paste and how it was tested with black powder explosives but not dust. Jannet nodded her head and replied “but did you check the amount of black powder it takes for the hardstone paste to crumble? It’s very important to know the limits of it you know? I would love to help you test it out! And I have many ways I can try~” she said with a giggle, she wasn’t kidding when she asked him if it was checked with thermite, it may not be much of an explosive, but it sure is a fun tool to use! She also is thinking of using a very concentrated explosive cone, one that its explosions come out from one side like a jet right into the object it wants to destroy. Hopefully, it can stand up to that!

"We didn't specifically test thermite because that would cut through the material of the door rather than the actual seam made of the hardstone paste. That said, If I'm not mistaken, the hardstone paste itself was able to withstand an explosive force equivalent to military-grade non-dust grenades and relevant breaching materials within the limits of M.T.I.'s agreements with the various ministries, we weren't able to test the hardstone paste greater quantities of explosive due to those limitations though, so I've just been working with the chemical formula to see if I can make any improvements to the deployment and strength of the hardstone paste in general.". He was curious, but he'd need to acquire the appropriate permissions and paperwork for further testing of the hardstone paste against more intense explosives. It was a promising idea, he just wasn't eager to deal with the bureaucratic red tape. At the moment, he was more interested in what testing ideas Ms. Ignicis had in mind. "What sort of explosives tests were you thinking about?"

Jannet pouted a little as Jules explained how he could not test explosives that much without greater permissions and how it was tested with quite the basic explosives, this would just not do! “if you ever need stronger explosives to test with you can always come to me for it. who needs permissions and paperwork for explosives when your new friend here is the heir of a once well-known Bomb-making company? I would love to help with it” she said excitedly as she pulled her bun-bomb and rested it on the table “tada~ this one should be much stronger than a military-grade grenade. Do you wanna try it?” she asked with a mischievous smile, she was always looking for reasons to use her combusting plush as a weapon, so far at school, it was never seen exploding and was only mentioned as being a bomb, but if Jules would inspect the doll he will find no button or any sign of activation other than a very small hole that could be mistaken for a tear in the plush.

tab Jules paused again at the idea of not needing to do the paperwork before asking a question he thought was prudent to the situation. "While I'm all for testing out the upper limits of the hardstone paste. Where would we test it safely? And, arguably more importantly, what material would we have access to, in order to ensure that the paste itself is what's failing or surviving under the explosion as compared to the material it's applied to?" To truly understand an invention's potential in any given area, Jules needed to achieve an absolute minimum number of variables, it was just a matter of maintaining the points of the scientific method as a whole after all. He then realized, about a minute later, that he might've come across as rude by asking her these things, at which point he spoke up again. "Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to come across as rude, my brain just kind of gravitates towards answering as many questions as it can as quickly as possible. I might be able to acquire something heavily blast-resistant to serve as the door or supports for the test in order to properly convey the abilities of the material itself. Though I am still worried about the possible collateral damage from the tests. I don't think Beacon Academy has a bomb range." His mind was already racing to decide what materials would best serve the purpose, how to acquire them in an ethical and affordable manner, and potential locations that would be safe enough to perform such tests since, as a student, he wasn't sure he could still access the blast-test chambers of M.T.I., though he should perhaps ask his uncle about such a thing.
