Prizes: I would be up to donating a couple of things biggrin
Contests:
Gold shop goodies: make outfits using only stuff from the regular shops (maybe do a 1 plat per item limit so people just have fun/don't feel like they wasted anything afterward.
Or, the current "build an avatar around ehat you got on spinami" is a fun one.

Here's another, more specific gold shop suggestion: how about making an outfit around our favorite CrossStitch item?
That shop was such a cool thing when it began. I think I understand why they discontinued the contests, but still . . . let's give the old user designed items some love!

I think contests that force you to make use of weird items can be fun, like striking patterns or color combos from old items that are going to take some ingenuity to pair with other stuff.
Use of a highly patterned skin could also be interesting.
I'm up for most types of things really, if I'm feeling it I'll join.

Pocket Kanin I think mythology/lore would be really fun! I think that sort of theme opens up for a lot of creativity. Yes please! Ditto to Secret Santa, too! I'd also be stoked about contests for gothic horror, cyborgs/robots, monsters, and fairytale characters. As far as individual challenges, we could all try to make avatars with at least five of the extra poses on SDPlus dolls.

I'd like there to be a challenge where you must use one of those item poses that replaces your entire torso + arms + legs - so a sort of body pose I guess? - it'd be really interesting to see how people manage to create their personal takes on something like that.

In a long running thread, there used to be an avi contest called Takeover Tues. where all avies were designed around one particular easy to find inexpensive and often quirky poses. It was hosted by 3 different charity threads simultaneously and was loads of fun to create around and see what others came up with.
Doing something like that here would be great.

I might be biased here, but what about historical themes? Various time periods could be a blast to do avatars for, and perhaps letting people learn a little bit about the past. Maybe even theming a contest on a famous historical figure?
As for prizes, I think most people aren't picky, but some prizes could match the theme of the contest? So if it's spooky season and it's a halloween avi, then the prizes could be Halloween/Horror themed, while Christmas contests might have more festive prizes. Not all the time, of course, especially as this can be hard to keep up. But sometimes, that would be interesting.
