Eli was grumbling under his breathe now as he walked towards his wolf. After a moment he shoves away his annoyance and sniffs the air. He shrugs swearing he had smelled something on the wind but ever since he lost most of his wolves his senses had faded to near normal for other elves. Each wolf had lent him a skill or boosted some ability. Unfortunately for Eli, Duke was not the one who had boosted his sense of smell. He refocuses on where Duke is to make sure that he his going the right way and frowns. The damn wolf was following the tracks without waiting for him. 'How Rude! Duke wait for me' He mind calls to his companion. It was then while distracted that a shadow stalker nearly walked into him. Eli startled steps back and starts to defend himself as the young Ferimorph jumps back and falls ungracefully on her backside while apologizing. Duke thinking something was wrong came running to defend Eli. But before the wolf arrived or Eli could react someone else showed up and helped the shadow stalker up. Eli stared at the two women a moment then even tough the presence of the Formorian has his guard up he smiles. Duke remains hidden in the tall grass as he greets the two. "Hello. Are you alright?" He asks then looks over at Alary and Sakuni as they catch up. Well he was finding others just not wolves.

User ImageOne moment the young ferimorph was alone in the tall grasses, the next, people seemed to pop into existence all around her. Literally in the case of a pale woman - was she human? she didn't smell like the only humans Miuti had met, but they had been farmers and smelled mostly of sweat and animals - anyway, she shimmered dramatically into existence and wordlessly offered Miuti a hand up.

She quickly glanced around the group. A pair of elves. Their pointy ears were a dead giveaway. Male and female - mates, maybe? The he-elf smelled vaguely of wolf. A pet or an enemy? Was a wolf going to pop out of the grasses at them any moment now?

The last person was a large sun grazer whose red feathers fluttered temptingly in the wind. Miuti clamped down on the urge to pounce. She suspected that that wouldn't go over at well well. For some reason, sun grazers got most unreasonably worked up over a few plucked feathers.

Miuti's hackles relaxed as she saw that the group didn't seem hostile.

"Yes, I'm fine, just startled." she said in answer to the elf's questions. "I wouldn't be worth my spots if I couldn't take a little tumble!" she laughed. "And thank you," she added to the the probably-not-human woman who had helped her up.

"I'm Miuti," she said to the group at large. "I'm on my way to... well, actually, I haven't figured that out yet. Somewhere interesting. Maybe one of those cities like you read about in books!"

"Shikijo" Katsurugi - Formorian [Demon] - Mage [Student]
User Image

After assisting Miuti up, Katsurugi wiped her hands idly on the hem of her kimono before looking at the others. A Sungrazer, and a pair of Elves were what her crimson eyes fell on. Beneath the surface of her charming features and alluring figure, hatred seethed in tandem with disgust in a horrid harmony that begged to unleash destruction. Yet, the violent riptide of malice was kept below a still and placid demeanor.

Katsurugi let her silence linger a little more as the cat-like Ferimorph she had assisted spoke and gave it's name. Had the creature been anything like Katsurugi then giving one's name was a sign of weakness and gave power over one's self to another. "Lady Katsurugi.", she said simply as her piercing red eyes seemed to flicker with intensity for a moment as her gaze fell on Eli and his animal companions. A subtle threat? Possibly, or maybe a dare for one in tune with nature and his companions to cause a scene about the fact that she was an entity of the forbidden Hellscape.

Of course, more people had managed to arrive and after a few moments pause in the outskirts of the group's gathering, none appeared immediately hostile either. Without a care in the world, or at least that would be how it seemed as he moved forwards, Sakuni strolled immediately towards the group while his yellow eyes snapped from one figure to the next. He had already gotten what he could from the Elves, it was time that he made his pitch onto the two new arrivals within his location. Pausing a meter or so away from the total group, Sakuni ruffled his feathers up with a shiver of his spin and a small fluff of his wings before he took the last few steps forwards, immediately sweeping into a low bow as a single yellow eye peers upwards upon the Ferimorph and Formorian that had arrived here. "Why hello there, Travelers! I am Sakuni, a traveling banking associate for G.R.A.T.E. The premier bank across the realms!" He begins immediately, his frame rising back up to his normal six foot even height, as he peers forwards towards the two newcomers with a twinkle soon shining within his bright yellow eyes. "Myself and other cohorts of my work, are traveling far and wide to assist in spreading this new form of currency into the public! This coin, commonly known as a Fich, is equivalent to twenty whole Gill, despite it being only a single coin. It's greater value and equal size, allowing travelers such as yourselves to lighten your coin pouches without worrying about actually losing any value!" Sakuni begins, as he immediately reaches a single hand into a pouch at his waist, drawing forth a single coin that appeared very similar to the standard Gill, but possessed an extravagant fish on one side and the number twenty engraved along the other. The feathers at the base of his beak would curve into a general smile as he revealed the coin onto the two travelers, holding it distinctly into the air in order to allow them to get a clean view, even while giving it a simple flip now and then, so that both sides would be clearly visible. "As the statement implies, each single coin is worth twenty of your Gill, allowing for an easy swap of twenty to one, and immediately lightening the load of your total coins! Fich are approved currency in almost every large city at this point, and becoming more and more known by the day!" He says with a visible grin despite the total lack of lips from his bird like features, his eyes alone said it all for anyone looking upon him. He would remain standing there, allowing them to take in his words and even ask questions if need be, either way he hoped to continue to spread this coin out into the world as well as the bank he worked for, in the process.

Whether or not Sakuni's coin exchange was an honest game or a swindle, Alary knows no different for the time being. By the time the scam were to be discovered surely the bird man will be quite a distance off! The most humorous thing of the matter is should that the fake coinage become far enough spread they could become in effect as accepted as the true coinage and therefore as legitimate, even if only in certain areas. That would honestly be the funniest bit and Sakuni could pride himself then in having his fingers in that matter as well as his counterfeiter's game. That said, only gill will be accepted at the shrines of resurrection. Fich would quite likely be rejected outright. The shrine keepers are not known for accepting fakes or anything that is outside of the customary payment. This much Alary is aware. Not that Fich are false coinage, but that the shrines will be highly unlikely to take them. To her the cautious exchange where she keeps the majority of her Gills is simply to be able to pay for her revival should her inexperience get her killed. The demoness formorian introduces herself as Lady Katsurugi. The spotted female ferimorph introduces herself as Miuti next. Eli's concern over her is charming. She smiles at those around her. "Well, this is getting to be quite the gathering. Do you suppose that means we are meant to go on some form of quest or journey together?"

Eli nods as Miuti claims to be alright just startled and smiles slightly at her. He had been startled to but luckily had not fallen his wolf would never let him hear the end of it. "I don't typically go near cities most are not welcoming to my wolves. Wolf" he says feeling a pang of loss as he corrects himself. Eli studies the formorian again as she speaks her name. "I do not usually read much I don't really get the time for it." He admits shrugging. "Nice to meet you both." He says though he is yet unsure about Katsurugi and remains on guard. "I am Eli and the brat in the grass is called Duke." Eli snickers as his wolf promises to bite him later. Duke steps out of the grass and moves to Eli's side keeping an eye on Katsurugi. Eli decided not to cause a scene or anything at this time but things would change later depending on how the formorian acted. Eli looked over at Sakuni then away as the guy talks about G.R.A.T.E. bank again. While Sakuni tries to sale more of his fich he thinks about Miuti's attempt to suppress her urge to pounce on the bird ferimorph. And grinning to himself opens his bag and pulls out the longest arrow shaft he had as well as some twine and a fistful of feathers. Then proceeds to make a feather toy for the cat ferimorph to play with. By the time Sakuni has finished his spiel Eli has finished making his toy. And not thinking gives it a few experimental flicks to test it. As he looks over at Alary who makes a comment about quests or a journey. The young warrior is not sure what he thinks of her comment but he did enjoy doing quests when permitted.

User ImageWith the introductions made, Miuti's ears perked up at Alary's suggestion that they might be destined to quest together. It would be like something out of a legend of old. However, she bit her tongue, not wanting to sound like a daydreaming kit.

Besides, the sungrazer, Sakuni, was speaking, and it would be rude to interrupt. He seemed to be selling something - money, in exchange for more money? On one hand, Old Nanny Crooktail had warned her to be wary of traveling salesmen. She said that they were cheats a rogues to the last one. On the other, this one seemed so pleasant and trustworthy, with his cheerful smile and friendly eyes. That he looked like a big, fluffy, feather toy didn't hurt either, albeit a feather toy that could probably eviscerate her with ease.

While distracted with these thoughts, something suddenly fluttered right at the edge of her peripheral vision. Acting entirely on instinct, the young Ferimorph leapt, claws extended, and snatched it out of the air. She shifted mid-leap, so that, moments later, an ocelot was rolling in the dirt biting and batting at a feather toy. It stopped suddenly, looking up at the gathered group, then looked away, embarrassed.

After a brief spate of furious grooming, she shifted back into a humanoid form and sheepishly handed the toy back to Eli.

"Sorry," she said, mortified, "My uh... killer instincts, yes, that's what it was, took over."

Then, in a hurry to change the subject she turned back to the sungrazer."I'll take one of your fish-thingies. Just one mind, I don't have much gill right now." Nanny had always warned her never to tell a man exactly how much money you had or how much wine you'd drunk.

"Shikijo" Katsurugi - Formorian [Demon] - Mage [Student]
User Image

The scent of greed was evident by the mercantile motives of the bird-like Ferimorph. It was clear this was a business venture, and an important one for the creature, though Katsurugi had no need for these trinkets, bits, and bobs. Gills was the only currency she had ever heard of, and something new that might be of little worth seemed directly unappealing. Still, it was also prudent to make sure that she was on top of the latest trends in mortal wealth, and making a broad assumption was too far beneath a demon of her standing.

"I shall take five of these coins you speak of.", Katsurugi said in a tone of cordial indulgence and honey-laced sweetness. It was clear that she was a woman of dignity and station, or at the least held herself to such. In the truth, she was nothing more than a deadly harlot and temptress of the under realms. Taking the bird person up on the deal was also of little risk to her, as if he planned to shill some worthless metal onto her, she could always go on a grand quest of revenge, and possible torture for the mortal's insolent idea that it could slight an aspect of sin itself.

The two Elves and the other, more cat like, Ferimorph were speaking on the other hand of a journey. Possibly, if her ears did not deceive her, to a city. Yes, lead the demon to a city, a place where the collective of mortal desires culminated. Greed, Hate, Lust, Ambition...All of these abusable vices were like strings on a violin for this sultry Formorian to play in a sickening nocturne of suffering. "Yes, actually traversing to the nearest city does seem prudent. I find myself woefully underprepared for such adventuring in the wilds.", Katsurugi chimed in on their conversation, hoping to lead it on in that direction.

It would appear that despite the continuous distractions from those others who had already partook in his exchange, he had still managed to exchange out six whole Fich coins between the two newcomers, what a treat! Sakuni smoothly retrieves the twenty coins from Miuti and gingerly places a single Fich coin into her hand, before stowing the gill he had received in the exchange, into it's designated coin pouch. He then turns to the Formorian who had requested an exchange for five coins, for a whopping one hundred gill! He quickly withdraws five Fich coins for this female and retrieves the one hundred gill, before placing all five coins into their outstretched hand while systematically stashing the gill away into it's required pouch. "Excellent! Excellent. Now if either of you ever decide that you would required to do a further exchange, or what have you. You can ask upon me, or anyone else within the G.R.A.T.E. Bank. That is of course, until this currency is circulating realm wide! Then it will be easily found in everyone's pockets straight from job or income source in general." Sakuni says as he makes an overly exaggerated wink in the direction of his two newest patrons. After the overall transactions were complete, he turned his yellow gaze onto the full group once again, listening to them mention their urge to go on adventures or starting a group for them or what have you. He slowly shook his head, while his gaze focused on the feather distracted feline. "Although I travel, I am not much of an adventurer. I don't partake in quests or intense journeys or anything of the like.. Stuff like that normally tends to get in the way of my career, after all." He says simply, while folding his arms across his chest, his long black and red feathers enshrouding his torso almost like a cloak while he spoke.

Alary nods as she listens. "Understandable. Once one is established with a career, there is seldom time for anything as time consuming and dangerous as adventuring. Thankfully, I am young and not yet attached to anything like that." She shrugs and grins, "I suppose that's why I want to be a ranger - I will still be able to have some kind of adventure." Tucking her walking stick into the crook of her arm she cheerfully reaches into her bag and pulls out a thick book embossed with the title of Emperor of the Regalia the Complete Compendium. "Ever since I was little I have loved stories about adventure and I love traveling. I mean, it is a far cry from the way my home town is so ... what's the best way of saying it? Boring. I mean there's a lot of education available, which isn't a bad thing, but staying indoors all the time never did appeal to me." She stuffs the book back into her bag and slings it back onto her back.
