"Very soft," Laoise crooned, mesmerized by the fact that his hair was so soft and flowy. It had taken a moment or possibly more before she realized that Kadri was quiet and not chatty anymore. The young female removed her hand and tucked her arms tight to her body, blushing. "Sorry."
The young female pursed her lips in a moment of quietness before looking to Kadri himself. "Sorry if I made you uncomfortable," she murmured.

Kadri shook his head emphatically and ran a hand through his hair. "Nono," he flailed. He didn't want her to think she'd done something wrong! "It's just that I've never really thought about it before. My hair, I mean. I dunno. It's just there? Sometimes it gets in my way, but like, not as much as Mom's does. She has really loooooong hair and it's always in her way." Kadri realized he was rambling but sort of couldn't stop.
The floursack slowly slid down from its "sitting" position into lying flat on the lakebed.

Laoise looked to Kadri. "I think it is really cool. It different!" she squeaked, nodding enthusiastically, giggling all the while. "Oh, your sack fell! Must be bored! Why don't you put it with mine and we can go for swim? I never went this far from home. Except the party!"

That last statement surprised Kadri. "Really?" he asked. "Oh, I come out here all the time to get away from my giant family. C'mon, I'll show you around."
He lifted the sack so it was upright again, and leaned it against the rock next to Laoise's. "There, they can keep each other company, I guess." He giggled.
Kadri swam off with Laoise and showed her around this part of the lake, where he came often for some peace and quiet, or maybe to practice his instruments without an audience. They fell into a friendly conversation, chatting about this and that, their families, recalling the absurdity of the party they'd been to, how their kelp-flour sacks seemed to have a mind of their own despite being inanimate. After quite some time, they returned to where they'd had their picnic and gathered up their things. Kadri accompanied Laoise to her home, and they said their goodbyes.
Kadri went home feeling buoyant. It was wonderful to have a friend just to himself. He sure missed Sindri most days, but others, well...it was nice not to have to share.
