She huffed a bit of air out of her nose initially at his answer. Seriously, given the fact that they were literal participants in a magical war of sorts, you'd think he'd at least believe in magic. She could agree on space travel, though. If it weren't for the metal shower going on outside right now, she might have easily forgotten that they weren't on Earth anymore. She adjusted herself and sighed.

"What exactly were you warned about?" She asked, waving her hand around in a circular motion. "I get not knowing that your planet rains metal, but what could someone else warn you about? Are there just some things all senshi encounter when they visit their planet?"

Like monsters? She made a face at the thought. However, that face was quickly replaced by another more quizzical look. Right. He'd mentioned not having working magic earlier when she was freaking out. She placed her hands in front of her mouth in a prayer position and tilted them in his direction.

"That, uh... Really concerns me. The not having working magic, thing." She said, further referencing her hands as she spoke. "Can you not do magic like other senshi can? Not even something like me?"

This entire reply is Vir just making the CONCERN face and I'm loving it. I'm sorry Atty, I swear she'll get used to all of this... Eventually.

"We are prone to visions when we get here," he didn't mince words, if she wanted to know what he had been warned about then she'd get the same details he did. "They don't come with any warning, they just happen," he pointed out released a sigh. As he hadn't experienced it himself he couldn't even begin to describe how it might feel, but he had been warned that some could be relatively intense.

"As I said, I haven't had any yet," he added.

"But I would assume that given they can happen at any time and be about anything, they might not always come at the best of times," he conceded and motioned to outside. He could only imagine what state he'd be in now if he'd been caught out in that and something had happened. He'd certainly look a little different to say the least.

As for the other question, he could only shake his head.

"My magic barely functions," he said after a moment of consideration. "If I can summon it properly it will be there for a blink, if it doesn't want to play ball then it isn't uncommon for me to explode," he continued. It was just as well the man had the capacity to fight with his bare fists, otherwise he'd have caused far more collateral damage to his own allies and been regarded as far from useful.

"The theory is that I was found too late, the bond I should have with this place isn't as strong as it was meant to be because of that. Since I can't hear this place, I can't even really sense it, I can't use what power it has to give me," he shrugged. "Coming here was something of a gambit, if I could find a way to connect to where I came from then the idea was that something would 'show' me how to make things work or it would fix itself," he murmured.

"Unfortunately it hasn't worked so far," he admitted softly.

"However, things have been changing so I've kept trying... Maybe after a while something will happen, this world just needs to wake up a little and notice that it has a guest," he hazarded.

"To clarify I'm supposed to be able to erect shields," he pointed out. He'd known by instinct alone what he was capable of, it just hadn't happened to work very often when attempted. "Currently I'm a bit of a walking bomb, so it's in everyone's interest the pin stays in," he chuckled softly and pursed his lips.

"We can always try to find someone with a bit more expertise if that's of any use to you? There are perhaps one or two people I might be able to ask when it comes to how it might feel to experience one of those visions."

Oh. Visions. Lovely. That was exactly what she hadn't wanted to hear. It seemed more and more likely that the "daydream" she'd had back home a few weeks ago had, in fact, not been a daydream at all. That didn't mean she'd let herself get caught up in, for lack of a better word, reminiscing over that right now. In fact, it probably wasn't even worth mentioning to Athalia. She could barely keep up with the task of taking in everything he was explaining to her. Trying to explain what she'd seen would only add to the stress she was already under.

Her hands returned to a prayer position and rested against her lips. Hearing that visions could come at any time, without warning, and be about literally anything under the sun, quite literally made her stomach turn. Would it be appropriate to pray now that her past life had gone off without a hitch and her experiences in future would be small and unimportant? ... Something told her that she'd have no such luck with that. She moved her hands down to her lap.

"I cannot convey just how much that unsettles me." She said, her face twisting in concern. It was here that she could say she was thankful that all her magic could do was make tiny healers. She couldn't imagine dealing with anything like what Athalia was going through. "Your magic is literally prone to explosions because you weren't awakened earlier in your life. Someone else tells you to come here to see if your planet will tell you how to stop the exploding, but your planet won't tell you what to do because you haven't spent enough time with it yet. How can it withhold such important information from you because of that? You didn't even know it existed until a few months ago, right?"

And it hadn't even worked out for him so far. That was what made her hurt the most for him. It did help a bit that he seemed to notice changes and have hope, but still. What if he could never find a way to connect with this place? What if he was stuck with exploding magic for the rest of his life? She furrowed her brows fretfully, before turning to give him a rather stunned look. ... Shields? His magic was supposed to make SHIELDS? Did he realize how useful that would have been to have when they first met?

... Duh! Of course he did! That was exactly why he was visiting this planet, so he'd hopefully learn how to summon his shields properly in the first place! God, she really needed to keep up with him here.

"Honestly, for your sake," She began, forcing herself to sit up straight. "I hope you can coax this place to talk to you. Exploding any time you try to use your magic sounds like one of the worst things I can imagine, and I'd hate to know how many times you've hurt yourself trying. That and having a shield would be really useful in a fight..." She paused, catching herself with another question. "Wait. How did you even figure out that those explosions were supposed to be shields, anyway? Did someone else tell you?"

Her brows furrowed again at the suggestion of finding other people to consult with questions about visions and, ultimately, she shook her head decisively for the negative.

"I don't think anyone else needs me freaking out at them about all this." She said, glancing to the side. "Maybe once I, uh, God forbid, start having visions... I can seek someone out for more advice. Right now I'm hoping that what's happening to you, won't end up happening to me. I mean, I only learned that I had a life before this one today because of you. Who's to say my planet won't be as closed off to me as yours is being to you?"

EXACTLY.

"In said planet's defence I'm not entirely sure it can talk," Athalia pointed out. "Not in a traditional sense anyway..."

Whether planets were sentient or not was something he didn't know, but communing with them or something on it was supposed to be possible. A part of the failure could simply have been that he hadn't worked out how to speak that 'language' yet, or dial in to the right frequency to find what he was looking for. Not that he expected the poor senshi opposite him to understand that or even be able to assist in it, but he wouldn't necessarily blame a random place in the galaxy for his own issues either.

"I can only assume that because you woke up at the right time and your magic works, you may have a better time of it all," he smiled gently. He hadn't heard any horror stories of homeworlds and wonders just yet, there might be some, but for the most part everything seemed to be reasonably safe. That might change in time of course, but he might not be quite so inclined as to advise Vir of that if she wasn't even happy about the safe locales!

"It works sometimes," he said with a laugh and rose to his feet. Taking a number of steps back from her as a precaution, he threw his hands out and spoke in a manner that was less of a flourish and more of a command. Perhaps it was because he was on his planet, but with a flicker, and a spark, the magic swarmed up his arms and erected a large shield in front of him. It wasn't solid unfortunately, a clear indication that he couldn't use his power's effectively, but the mirage was enough to convey that if he could get his abilities to co-operate at points.

Alas...it fell within seconds again and he could do nothing more than sigh.

"But when it does it doesn't last long as you can see," he conceded.

This had been a fact of life for him since he'd started, but he did seem to be relieved he hadn't detonated and gone flying into the depths of the corridor and the otherwise great unknown.

"I think you'll be fine though, you've never had an issue with what you can do before so why would it start now?" he asked curiously.
