Celestial Spirits (星霊 Seirei) are magical beings from their own separate universe, the Celestial Spirit World. Some Mages, called Celestial Spirit Mages due to their specialization in Celestial Spirit Magic, are able to summon Spirits by opening their Gates via the use of Celestial Spirit Gate Keys. These Keys are separated into two classes: the more common Silver Keys and the extremely rare Gold Keys. Keys for Celestial Spirits are counted in Units (collectively without regard of Gold or Silver), and a Celestial Spirit Mage is noted by how many Units they have obtained. All Celestial Spirits are each named after a different astronomical constellation. There is, of course, a certain amount of Keys a Celestial Wizard can have, to keep things a bit more balanced. The amounts will be listed below, along with Rankings.
Empyrean ~ Ascendant
- 1 Jade Key
- 3 Gold Keys AND 3 Platinum Keys [can also mix-match; total must still equal 6]
- 8 Silver Keys
- Any amount of Bronze Keys
Legend ~ Saint
- 1 Jade Key
- 2 Gold Keys AND 2 Platinum Keys [can also mix-match; total must still equal 4]
- 7 Silver Keys
- Any amount of Bronze Keys
Guild Master / Omega ~ S-Rank / Sigma
- 1 Jade Key
- 1 Gold Keys AND 1 Platinum Keys [can also mix-match; total must still equal 2]
- 6 Silver Keys
- Any amount of Bronze Keys
A-Rank / Delta ~ C-Rank /Kappa
- 1 Gold Key OR 1 Platinum Key [can't have both]
- 5 Silver Keys
- Any amount of Bronze Keys Celestial Wizards 1. The only way to get a Diamond, Gold, Platinum, Jade, Silver, or Bronze Key from another Celestial Wizard is for said Celestial Wizard to break their contract, or be killed. Those are currently the only two ways.

Listed below will be the different types of Keys used to summon Celestial Spirits. ~ Gold Keys - Gold Keys also come in a set of twelve, based off the Twelve Zodiac Constellations. They are equal in strength to the Platinum Keys, though they differ quite a bit. There are only twelve Keys in the world, not counting Ophiuchus, which is considered a different colored key. ~ Platinum Keys - Platinum Keys come in a set of twelve, each one based on the Twelve Chinese Zodiac. They are equal in strength to the Gold Keys, even though they differ very much. Much like the Gold Keys, only twelve exist in the world, not counting the secret, thirteenth key. ~ Black Keys - Apparently only two exist in the world, and are the secret "Thirteenth Keys" for both Zodiac based Keys. Though neither have them have been found recently, so it's only a baseless rumor. For now, at least... ~ Jade Keys - Jade Keys are only five of a kind (though only one of each type exists), each one based on the "Four Symbols" of the Chinese Constellations. The Azure Dragon, the Vermillion Bird, the White Tiger, and the Black Tortoise. And then the once in the center of the four, the Yellow Dragon. These Keys are rumored to be more powerful than the Zodiac Keys, but given they're an incredibly rare find, none know for sure. ~ Silver Keys - Silver Keys come far and wide, each one being based on one of the 88 Modern Constellations. They are weaker than Gold, Platinum, Jade, and Black Keys in power, but are much more powerful than the Bronze Keys. All these keys are one of a kind, except for Nikorai's, who has an unlimited number of Keys. ~ Bronze Keys - Bronze Keys are just a random assortment of Celestial Spirits, of which are not based on any sorts of constellations. They are considered the weakest of their kind, and multiple versions of each Key exist for them all. They are truly unlimited.
