Veneficium

Veneficium is a rather large continent, made up of several different islands, all of which are connected under the same rule. But even though there is one Ruler above them all, the continent is spread throughout as seven different kingdoms. Each of these kingdoms has its own different laws and rules, and each houses different types of races, some of which have never been seen before. But even though it is very large, it is largely unvisited by outsiders. Reason being the magical borders make it appear as invisible, and creates a nearly unbreakable barrier, which is held up by the strongest Mage from each kingdom, for a total of seven different powerful Mages. It would not be wise to try and break through this barrier for even though they are an anti-war continent, they are varying degrees of powerful. Listed below will be a brief summary of each of the Seven Kingdoms.

Praeclarus

Praeclarus is the largest kingdom in the contient. This Kingdom houses two different churches exist for two separate gods. Gerges, the God of the Abyss and Knowledgable Evil. And Cielos, God of the Heavens and Knowledgable Good. It's split into many different and varying sizes of cities and towns, with the most populated, and largest, being Tropicus. It's located right in the middle of The Four Lakes. The Four Lakes are each special spots, where it's a said a shooting star struck each to create the lake. This is credible enough, given somehow intact meteorites can be found at the bottom of each lake. Though it is still a mystery how all the water got there. Many blame the rain, of course. The Lakes are each named, with the northern Lake being Starfall Lake, the eastern lake being Meteor Lake, the southern lake being Skydrop Lake, and the western lake being Shooting Star Lake. Each of these lakes seems to be a hotspot for Magic activity, giving off powerful vibes every now and then, though none are sure why.

Malefica

Malefica is the main country/kingdom to find all sorts of Mages on. While Praeclarus was a mix of nearly everything, Malefica is almost strictly Mages, with very few regular Humans being allowed in. And no, it is not due to racial issues, but more the fact that everything here seems to run off some sort of magic power, which it draws from the Mages that use these items. Meaning a normal human could get almost nowhere. There's also a rather large academy here for blossoming Mages, which is named "Magicae Academy".

Vulpes

Vulpes is a country made up mostly of Mages that use Animal Transformation and Animal Soul Magic. There are also many who use Beast Soul, but you will find none who use Satan Soul in these parts. The main city is known as the "Castle of Vulpes Caudas", a historical castle surrounded by a rather large town, known only as "Caudas Town". Townsfolk also seem to be able to explore the castle to their leisure.

Andromeda

Andromeda is likely one of the most beautiful countries within Veneficium. It's made up of four different sections, each split by a river running through the country. But it makes up for this with its nighttime sky. It should be noted that all Mages living within the boundaries of Andromeda all have some sort of Space-themed Magic. Celestial Mages, Requip Mages, and many others all call this their home. Due to strange means of magic, it's possible to see every constellation in the nighttime sky throughout different times of the year.

Akujin

The Kingdom of Demons, as many have called it before. Living here are those whose human bodies have transformed into those of a Demon's through excessive use of Satan Soul Magic. But they were not possessed by any of the Demons they controlled, strangely enough. In fact, they seemed to get stronger. Of the main areas that make up Akujin, these people live on the northern and eastern sections, closer to Dryadalis and Drakontas. Littered across the seas, on multiple islands that are part of its territory, live the most dangerous of Demons and Devils. So horrible that a barrier was erected around the island so they could not cause havoc upon the rest of Earthland.

Dryadalis

Hearing a quick and small description of this land would bring the word "hippies" to mind. But those that live here are anything but. They specialize in Magic that seems harmonious with nature, but their true ability lies in their Magical Control over the Four Elements of Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind. They are able to cause natural disasters due to their Magic alone, making them truly threatening. They also seem to be subject of a strange mutation, which makes them slightly taller than the average human, and gives them pointed ears, giving them an Elven appearance. Though thankfully, like the rest of (most of) Veneficum, they're a peaceful people, and use their Magic to help their crops grow, and keep disasters at bay.

Drakontas

Drakontas, also known as the Kingdom of Dragons. Throughout the entirety of this country, you'll find all sorts of Dragon Slayers and other sorts of different Slayers, believe it or not. There are also many Human-Dragon hybrids, all of which have evolved into this mix due to excessive use of Dragon Slaying Magic without any Dragon Antibodies within them to keep them from transforming. Though the Dragons here (or most of, at least) are viewed as gods by the people, nonetheless. And they don't take too kindly to their gods being killed, so be careful who you decide to fight against.

Lux Brumalis

Lux Brumalis is, what one would call, a wintry wonderland. It's at the very northern part of the world, and seems to be trapped in an eternal night. But that's how its always been, it isn't a curse of any kind. It's to add beauty to the whole place, and have the moon hanging eternally in the sky. But... there is something up with the temple here. Other than that, the place can bring anyone in with its eternal beauty. There's a temple here, with an artifact in it that has driven them away. It is unknown why, but it seems to give off an aura of evil. There are also twenty-three empty slots, and it's said that if the things that were once placed in them are found, a horrible creature would crawl forth to devour the world.

Ormeadow

Ormeadow is a very fairy tale-esque place, complete with elves, magic, and maybe even a dragon or two. The Forbidden Forest of Ormeadow wasn't always forbidden, nor was it always so crazy with the seasons. People would travel through it daily and go to the temple. But one day the gem that rests in the highest tower of the temple stopped shining, and became corrupted. The corruption spread to the flower and lunar sprites that resided in the temple, and continued to spread to the surrounding forest. The corruption turned all the residents of the forests aggressive, and caused the seasons to go out of control. It would have spread further had mages not created barriers to keep the corruption in the forest.

(P.S. This is where the Unicorns are.)

Forsaken Woodlands

They're called this for a reason. The entire territory itself seems to be the remains of a once grand tree that had grown from the ocean. It's almost impossible to approach from the sea due to the ravaging waters that surround it. But it's said that everyone that goes in never come back out. Due to this, the High Ruler banned anyone from ever stepping foot on the island. But of course, none listened to him, and as such, disappearances have been at an all-time high around this area.

Alerando Island

A rather... normal island, located between Dryadalis and part of Akujin. This island seems to house only full-blooded Humans, who have nothing to do with Magic. As such, it seems to be more industrial than what one would usually see in the world of Mages. They also manage to keep their noses out of other's business, though do accept help from mages that decide to help them, and even offer them places to live.

Tartarus

A prison island which none have ever been successful in escaping from. Chances are that if you're put in here, you'll never get out unless your particular race has longevity. Though this prison is only saved for the nastiest of criminals out there, such as people who wreak horrid havoc upon countries. Or those whose powers are considered too dangerous for them to run around waving it everywhere. Its rumored that the prison itself spans so deep underground that it reaches the core of the world, and that's just how prisoners it holds within its walls.

Yggdrasil Castle

An island which seems to house a giant tree. But, carved into this tree, through the use of magic, is the Yggdrasil Castle. It's within this castle that the High Royalty of Veneficium live. The tree here seems to give off some pretty intense amounts of magical power. As such, it's a place that many Mages go to train, in hopes that they can draw some of this power into their body to become even stronger. No one knows how the tree grew here, or even who planted it. All that anyone knows is that it's been here for as long as anyone currently alive can remember.
