The next morning, Cody would be in for a shocker. Blaze had given birth to all four of her pups, and was curled around them sweetly along with Tundra. The pup's coloring ranged from looking like blaze, to all white. There were three females and one male. The were making newborn puppy noises as they nursed from Blaze, while she was resting. Tundra kept a watchful eye on Blaze, letting her rest after having birthed four puppies. he was usually up early. As the pups nursed, one of them was clearly a runt. She was a pure white female, who would later be named Snowflake, and would have pure blue eyes. Snowflake was smaller than her siblings so she'd need extra care to make sure nothing was wrong should something arise.

Cody gently bid them good night as he let them rest but the next morning when he was making his rounds, he noticed the two sitting oddly before hearing the little pup noises. He walked into their kennel and saw the pups and smiled, "Aww... they're adorable!" He said as he looked at them, surprised by their resemblence to tundra but guessed that a white canine like tundra would be useful in force breeding canines. He still didnt like that she was treated the way she was but he smiled seeing the pups, "I can look for good homes for them and for you Blaze, you will be happy, and safe." He promised as he looked at the pups but then some of Tundra's fur moved and Cody noticed the runt, "Aww... look at this little snowflake hidden in tundras fur, shes so cute." He said gently using his finger to brush Snowflake's tiny head gently, smiling at how she was adorable. He smiled, "Congrats Blaze, seriously." He said gently scratching under her cheek kindly.

Blaze gave Cody's hand a gentle lick, as she lay around her pups. Tundra didn't seem to mind the pups crawling over to him from time to time, his tail wagged whenever he would feel the pups snuggle up to him. For the first couple of weeks, Blaze wouldn't leave the pups much, at least until they were older and could find homes of their own. Though Snowflake would come to love Tundra and be like his own pup, a daddy's girl in other words. Blaze's tail wagged as Cody scratched under her chin, before she nuzzled his hand gently. She was already assessed behaviorally. She was good in all areas, from other children and other dogs, thanks to Tundra. Though on the noise tests, she was a little jumpy, but didn't bite or anything. She was adoptable but her family would have to be ready for her wolfish tendencies too.

Cody smiled seeing how she was happy to him, he was glad and knew that she passed most things. He knew many sounds bothered her and that she was jumpy at certain actions. He was glad she was good with children and was getting use to adults approaching her. However, due to her age and her condition, he also knew she would be hard to be given a home. He felt that her home could be the shelter but Tundra already had the personal kennel, and was there for a reason. He could be adopted but if he wasnt, then he would have his home here, but Blaze, she would be hard to find a home but her pups would be easy. Kids love pups, their good to train being so young and also, her runt would be hard to adopt out due to its size. Runts tend to stick to their parents and dont do well to isolation from parents unless taken away early, but he wasnt going to do it. He sighed as he knew this was a lot but soon his attention was drawn back to the front as he heard the door's hanging bell jingle. He left her kennel, closing it behind him, but walked to the front, "Can i help you sir?" He asked as the man pulled a gun, "I want my property." He demanded, he was the buyer of the pups and the dog, he had money staked on the dogs. Cody remained calm, "Sir... i think this is just a mistake... the gun isnt needed." He said as he backed up a bit, "Il... Ill take you to her... alright." He said as he non chalantly began to whistle, acting normal as if he didnt have a gun with him, however Cody knew that Tundra was a military trained dog, and that some of his whistles were commands, like whistles signalling 'danger', 'armed criminal' and 'right hand'. Cody walked up to the kennel, looking at Blaze and the pups. However he saw that Tundra was up and ready, but as Cody unlocked the kennel door, the gun went off hitting his shoulder as he went to the ground. The man opened the door, only just then seeing Tundra.

Tundra growled at the man who shot Cody in the shoulder. He began to bark like back in his military days, as a warning, baring his fangs at the man before lunging at him and biting the man with Blaze shaking in terror, curling around her pups, including snowflake her heart pounding in her chest, as she saw Tundra get hit in the head her old owner. Then something within her snapped, and she stood in front of her pups, and Cody. She too bared her fangs, looking more like the wolf within her. Cody was closer to her pups, and she knew he'd never hurt them. She then bit her owner on the leg while another volunteer called 9-1-1. Blaze broke her owner's leg as she pulled on it, trying to get him away from her pups. Tundra had disarmed him, by biting his hand with the gun in it, as per his training. Blaze growled as she bit at her old owner, standing over him much like a wolf would its prey as she knew he'd take her pups from her the first chance he had.

(Not her owner, the buyer who was coming for the pups that he had forced on her.) Cody goes down, grasping his shoulder but saw as the two canines rushed the man. He made sure to be between him and the pups but soon the police arrived and the two canines backed off. Cody saw that the paramedics arrived and they came to him. He watched as the other volunteer got Blaze back to her pups but hegasped some as he was put on the gurney and tended to. The volunteer looked at her, "You okay girl?" The volunteer asked checking to make sure her and her pups were okay.

((Oops. I misunderstood who it was lol.)) Blaze whimpered a bit as Cody was tended to, her eyes looking worried as she watched him from where her pups were. Tundra went over to Blaze, sniffing her to make sure she was okay. Blaze didn't sustain any injuries, neither did Tundra other than a headache. Blaze was more concerned about Cody seeing the blood on the ground. She then tried to get to him, after making sure her pups were okay, knowing they were okay with Tundra. She let out a few whimpers as she tried to get to Cody, wanting to make sure he was okay. She went up to the gurney, and looked sad and worried at the same time. She could tell Cody cared for her and her pups, she could only hope he wasn't mad at her for biting someone. Then again he was after her and her four puppies. She let out a whimper, hoping the paramedics would let her see her favorite person.

Cody heard whimpering and turned his head a bit but he saw Blaze, "Its gonna be alright girl... ill be okay, ill be back." He said as they began to take him to the ambulence, "Tundra! Watch her, hold down the fort!" He called out groaning some as he had looked over his shoulder a bit. A few days passed after he left, the bullet had missed all major arteries and his bone, he was extremely lucky. A few days later, Cody walked into the shelter where he had his arm in a sling. The manager asked him if he should be there but he waved his good arm, "Im fine... trust me, i got some pain meds." He joked but he walked to the kennel and opened it, he saw where part of the stone floor was bleached, "Sorry about the cleaning..." he yelled up to the front before he walked into the kennel, "Hey Blaze, im back." He said happily.

Blaze had been extremely worried about Cody, Tundra too. Blaze barely slept but thanks to Tundra she got some sleep. As soon as she saw Cody coming into the kennels her tail started wagging happily. Tundra was outside doing his business. The pups had been fed already so they were sleeping at the moment. Blaze went right up to Cody and jumped onto the kennel door whimpering happily with her ears back as she waited for him to get inside her kennel so she could make sure he was okay. Of course she was excited, but was always gentle with others. As soon as the door opened, Blaze began smelling Cody's sling a little. She was being gentle as she nuzzled against him, glad he was back.

Cody smiled as he saw her and sat on the floor of the kennel, he looked at her as she had smelled at his sling. He gently rubbed her head with his good hand, scratching behind her ear, "Im alright girl... shoulder requires a bit of healing but im fine." He said kindly as he looked at her pups in the bed in the kennel, he was glad to see that they were alright. He gently scratched behind her ear, im happy he didnt hurt you." He said softly

Blaze's tail wagged as Cody scratched behind her ear. She then lay down next to him, laying her head in his lap before rolling onto her back for the first time since she'd been there. She was trying to tell him that she wanted him to be her owner, that she trusted him with her life and the lives of her pups. Plus with the pups born they'd all need to be kept in a foster home until the pups were old enough to regulate their own body heat. With Christmas coming up, it was sometimes cold in the kennels since a lot of them lead outside in the walls. Blaze nuzzled Cody's good hand, all while making sure her pups were okay. Tundra was keeping an eye on them wagging his tail seeing Cody.

Cody looked at her and saw that she rolled over after resting her head on his lap. He saw this as a sign of trust but he had been looking for a home for Blaze and the pups, since pups needed warmth but wouldnt make it past winter in the kennel. However, he hadnt found any foster homes who could house Blaze and the pups so he came to a decision, "Alright girl... how would you like to come home with me?" He asked as he knew she wouldnt be easy to find someone to adopt her so what if he did. That way her and her pups have a home til her pups can be given a new home and families when they reached of age.
