Suoh walked forward and gently took Joshua's hands into his, "It's ok. I know I have given you a lot of information in a short amount of time." His hands slid up to Joshua's shoulders and pulled him into a hug. "I'm afraid there is a whole new world for you to learn about. You've glimpsed it, but there is much more to see." He rubbed Joshua's back soothingly for a moment before sitting back again so he could look the man in the eyes, his hands going down to Joshua's elbows. Suoh hoped it was a comforting touch for the man. "But I am here for whatever questions you have, Joshua. Anything you wish to ask, I will answer to the best of my ability. And if you don't understand then I will find a way to explain so that you do. Would that help ease your fears?"

Suoh's heart hurt to hear the pain in Joshua's voice. "No. Even if I were able to I would not." He took Joshua's hand and bent to look the man in the eyes, "The mating contract works both ways, Joshua. Just as you would be bound to be, I would be bound to you. Even if this were not so, I would not abandon you in that way. I swear it on my life, Joshua." A demon's oath was his bond. Though Joshua might not understand the implications of his words, Suoh did. If he were ever to abandon the human, he would die. "We are equal in this, Joshua. Yes, I will provide you protection, but you're being my mate means that I will raise in power and standing within the Realm of Shadows. Having a human mate shows strength of will and restraint and well as power to defend them. A human mate with spiritual power? Doubly so."

He smiled, "If there is ever another human like you who needs protection, we will offer them a place in our household together. Being human, it will be seen as you protecting your own kind and no one will question it. But there would be no need for me to mate with them."

Suoh breathed a sigh of relief when Joshua stated his agreement. "Forgive me, Joshua, I should have introduced myself properly. I am Reitesu Suoh, Magistrate of the Barrier. As we are to be mated, you may call me by my given name, Suoh. The rest is just formality." He ran his hand up and down Joshua's back, the motion soothing both of them. He rarely was touched when not in battle, so to have someone leaning against him like this was strange. But Suoh found himself liking the warmth of another body against his. "There is one part of your statement I must contest. You told me to do with you as I wish. Though there are many yokai who would prefer that type of relationship with you, I am not one of them. If I ever do something you do not like, please tell me so I can be sure to not do it again. Ok?" He reluctantly leaned back to look Joshua in the eyes for his response.

Suoh smiled and stood, pulling Joshua up with him. "Come, let us go to our home. The shop keeper has already given his permission for you to have the rest of the day off and however much longer than that you feel you need. But he requested I tell you that your position here is always open should you wish to return to it." He lead the way to the door and walked in, hold Joshua's hand. "But for now, let me show you your new home. I have many guest rooms, you may chose any of them that you like to be your own."
