"You guys can call me Yoshi." The raven haired hero told his classmates with a smile that you could see even if his suit covered his mouth. “I’ve been sort of cramin-“
His introduction was cut short as a series of gunshots were heard. The sound of glass breaking followed by a wave of screaming took over the place. He quickly glanced and saw people gathering near a building. He wasn’t familiar with the area so he didn’t know where exactly they were heading. Yoshi moved his head from side to side, a soft pop each time he turned directions. He had a grin on his face, it had been a long time since he had faced anything like this.
Yoshi with his bio-armor already in place was ready to head towards the situation. He went through all the scenarios and what to do’s that he read in the books, and had practiced not just physically but mentally. He was glad he had done all the cramming to be ready for action.
He noticed his teammates hide behind a van. He didn’t know if the dark skinned boy was the assigned leader for this task but he didn’t question it. He followed them and took a knee near them listening to the plan they were going to execute. “I’m pretty much bullet proof if it helps any.” He said calmly. “Plus-“ Yohi shifted his bio armor from his left arm creating a large Coffin style shield. “I can provide cover and help move civilians away from danger. Or Just let me create a distraction take out a few guys and you guys can move people to safety.” Yoshi during this time kept fighting his inner instinct to move and fight alone. He knew he had to stick with his team and follow directions. While he spoke to his team mates he would quickly glance from the van cover towards the diner. He finally had a better look at the building.
His mind began to race... He thought about the building, the people, how to reduce casualties, would they have to minimize damages, better way to evacuate people? Got it!"Also what about the rear entrance to the diner? We could evacuate people through there."
For all of his quick-thinking, Yoshi (yet another Yoshi, Dajante internally laughed) casually throws it out the window with a new suggestion. Was this guy supposed to be an offense-replacement? His sudden shield creation was rather impressive, and Dajanté thought that this new plan could work even better since he wouldn't have to drain his energy. However, it was also risking the new guy's safety quite a bit, as he'd be taking on a hoard on his lonesome, despite the fact that he's "pretty much bullet-proof." Sounds like a tough guy act to me, Janté grunted. He pushed off the back of the van anyway and faced Yoshito, nodding his head.
"Oh-kay man," he started, wiping his sweating hands down his pants. "Pretty fool-proof plan there, but I don't think ya should jus go chargin' right away. Let us get a head start to the rear first," he continued. While he still thought Hwan scouting was superior for the least casualties, they didn't exactly have time to dawdle over which was the best method.
Dajanté looked over to Hwan and pursed his lips. "Maybe ya should tag after him. No brotha takes on an army on his own, least not when I'm here." The teen then turned to Amethyst and gave her a shoulder-pat. "A'ight, lady. We gots some folks to save, so le's get a move on," he forced a grin, moving just past to study the situation past the van from the other end. It looked like the group was too busy shooting at the diner to notice any movement from their location, so it was probably safe to cross over to the other lane.
The LeVane student glanced back at Yoshito and Hwan with a grimace. "I'll back ya'll up if things get hairy, course," Dajanté said. But I take it bodysuit boy ain't gonna want much help considerin the way he be twitchin' here, so I'll jus get the innocents with Amethyst first, Dajanté internally sighed. Gotta let the tough guys do their thing, and it's not like he really wanted to fight anyway.
"Jus be mindful of where the enemies are at all times, guys. Don let em get a jump on ya. A'ight, nuff talkin'. See ya on other side!" Dajanté reached back for Amethyst's hand and zipped across the street, assuming the healer could keep up with his pace. At least the slight winds were enough to enhance their speed, Janté willing the winds to push them along rather than act against them. He glanced back at Amethyst for one brief second to make sure she was okay.
"Ey girl, dunno if you can fight-fight, so you can keep guard at the back door while I disrupt the chaos inside if ya prefer, a'ight?" he asked when they got to the other side, jogging in place and peering around at the ongoing gun fight from the edge of the building across the street. Now all they had to do was locate the rear entrance and seize the innocents. Easy, peasy.
Right?

Yoshi reverted his shield back into part of his suit to cover his arm. He didn't know much of his companions abilities but they had no time for that.
Gael liked the attitude of the dark skinned, long hair boy. He was quick to adapt, command, plan, execute, and encourage his teammates. He was convinced he was their leader so he nodded at all the plan he had made using Yoshi's suggestion. He was now glad he was on this team. The white haired boy had made no impression on him yet but he knew that the best way to get to know someone was in battle, and violá! Here we are.
Taking on an army alone... he thought. Now that sounds like fun... but not at my level. Gael thought and smiled to himself. The dark haired boy grabbed Amethyst by the hand, said 'see you on the other side,' and was across the street. "Well so it's you and me then." Yoshi said to the white haired boy with a smile hidden behind his suit. "Let's go!"
Yoshi stayed low where he was hidden by the shadows and the automobiles lining up the streets. He crawled from one to the other until he was directly behind a vehicle that was behind the thugs that were pointing their weapons at the diner. Yoshi created a small buckler shield on his left arm using the armor on that forearm. Yoshi analyzed the situation... IF he was strong enough he could push this vehicle into the two thugs but he had no super strength so that was out the window... I just gotta distract them though right?
Yoshi jumped to the hood of the car and stood there, hands on his hips, superhero pose! "Well isn't tonight a lovely night to shoot up a diner gentlemen?" He said with a mocking smile. "I think its also a good night to kick a puppy, steal candy from a baby, find my grandma and push her down the stairs right?" Yoshi hoped his team would be moving along by now. "Or better yet we steal the money from a fundraiser for kids with disabilities no?" Yoshi sat on the hood of the car and crossed his arms. "Wait, wait, wait... I got some better ones." Gael created a small black pad using his palms armor, and using his pinky armor made a black pencil. "How about..." He flipped one of the black pages of his pad. There was literally nothing on it but they couldn't see it either way. "Ah, got it. Kicking the wheelchair kid on the chest when he takes your turn at Disneyland after you've waited four hours." He paused, looked at them. "No?" Yoshi smiled as he did this, he was still ready to jump at them when the opportunity would arise.
”The toll of the warning bell My boots sink in bullet shells I have become an outlaw Nightmare of the damned The hangman left the scaffold I took him out, still blindfold I made this place a ghost town Painted the lanes red

The gang members had been tightening their chokehold on the building, determined to draw out the freak who had eluded so many of them thus far. For now, Stephan was able to keep them at bay, but if they came at him with anything besides guns, he was going to be up s**t creek. To make matters worse, another coughing fit fell upon him, forcing him to lean against a doorframe lest he get bowled over. Blood splattered on the frame and floor, roughly half an ounce had been expelled. At this rate, the gang would still be around by the time he finally passed out or screwed up.
He wasn't sure how long he had been in there, but he was pretty sure he had picked a couple of them off, but there were still too many for him to get everyone out and away from the danger. That is, until all of a sudden a lot of the people out front stopped shooting. Taking a piece of silverware and angling it just so, he saw the attackers staring towards a central zone, though unfortunately he couldn't quite get the right angle to see what they were staring at. He turned back to the people he had been protecting: they were scared, but at least no one had done anything stupid yet, still, he didn't know how much longer he would last. Turning back to one of the employees, he asked, "what is out back?" One of them piped up with, "there are some dumpsters and like half a lot of open ground, but beyond that are crap houses." Stephan nodded. "While they are distracted out front, I'm getting you guys out the back. I'll lay down cover fire, but it is up to you to get behind the dumpsters, wait til I have their attention, then make a dash for the houses and alleys. You got that?" There were some silent nods and a bit of muffled crying. "If you guys all work together, you'll get out of this fine." With a slight nod from one employees, Stephan lead the way to the back door. Taking a deep breath, he kicked the door open and immediately launched into low caliber suppressive fire (aka "spray and pray"). Bullets blanketed a large area, forcing the few gang members back this way to take cover. "Now!" he yelled back to the people inside. Though some were hesitant, they were ushered out by the others, first bunching behind the dumpsters, before waiting for their cue to make the dash.
~~Out Front~~
Everyone had been so intent upon neutralizing the target in the restaurant that they had not even noticed the walking pencil lead stroll up to them. But the moment he spoke, all eyes were on him. Most of the stares featured raised eyebrows and mouths slightly agape, one or two even dropped their weapons. This wasn't a mafia level gang, even if they did have some of the goods, so a complete rando showing up and mouthing off decidedly flapped them. The lead lackey was the first to speak up "the hell are you doing? ******** off or your a target, got it?" Then they could hear the sounds of shooting coming from the back, and a notion finally dawned on him. "You working with that b***h? Bad choice." He turned to a cluster on the far side, "go around back and shut them down. As for the rest, get this joker." Guns were picked up and aimed at the intruder.
”It was a sunny day When I learned to stand up So fearful and afraid I held you in my arms So warm and so alive The day I went away They said I had to leave For glory and for peace For honour and for boon It won't be long until Our enemies are banned They take me back home soon Your picture in my heart Will give me will and strength And help me to hold out
I'll save the world for you My little boy I'll save the world for you

While hearing the bullets, Amethyst ducked down with her team and listen to them both give ideas of what to do now. Usually bullets bouncing off could result in someone injured. She closed her eyes to focus some more to make sure everyone was fine. So far, so.. Not so much. One person, but couldn't make it completely out. They were too far, but they were not okay. Even though she couldn't tell if they were friend or foe, they needed help. Amethyst looked between the two and focused again to hear their plan of attack. Well theirs not hers. She wasn't good at hand to hand combat and the only thing she was even remotely good at was healing people. She then looked at Dajante and smiled at the shoulder pat and got ready when he was. "You got it."
Amethyst glanced down at Dajante's hand and took it, running with him, trying to keep up. She was in a healthy state where she could run and keep up, but Dajante may have been faster than her. "Not really good at fight fighting, but I can guard the back door. Not problem, but what about you?"

Well, there was certainly action during this field exercise of theirs, that was for certain. After Dajanté had nodded off Amethyst's response, he'd crept around into the back alley between buildings on the parallel streets, ushering for Amethyst to follow suite. While it was clear that the street was empty, he figured the diner wasn't too far off from their position so he kept to crept. What he wasn't expecting was how they'd find the diner: by seeing a horde rush out, scampering behind dumpsters and the like. Dajanté looked back to Amethyst right after and shook his head.
"Looks like we got an orchestrater. Stay out here away from the door while I confirm friend or foe. Or jus gesture at the civilians an get some info." Hailstrom faced back ahead and cracked his neck from side-to-side. He walked boldly forward, shaking his hands at his sides to prepare for a fight. Sounds like someone's shootin' from the inside again, so dis ain't gonna be fun. He held up a finger to his lips when it was clear some diner customers and employees had noticed him. He gestured back at Amethyst and mouthed "help." We're gon'a hafta get 'em to bounce 'ere soon, in some kind of organized way. Hopefully Amethyst can think of somethin cause so far, she's jus been followin me blindly, honestly, Dajanté frowned, sliding up against the back of the building and by the door.
Peering inside ever-so-slightly, the battle scene didn't look to be too bad. There was one guy inside laying coverage like wildfire at the goons Dajanté had seen outside before. He could just barely make out their new team-member atop a car's hood, taunting the gang outside. One member was shouting orders at a smaller group, who since-then dispersed away from the scene. Dajanté had a funny feeling they'd be coming back around his end, so he had to act fast.
The LeVane student slid back away from the back entrance and looked back to Amethyst, sweat dripping down his temple. This better not get ugly. Dajanté decided it was better not to distract the mystery attacker inside and instead, focus his efforts on simply evacuating the civilians at the opposite end. He jogged over to Amethyst and crossed his arms in front of the other, indicating that they needed to get the hell out of there as soon as possible. "Amethyst," Dajanté whisper-shouted. "Let's round up these folks and burst out opposite where we came. Some baddies heading back our way I think, and I don' wanna see how that unfolds." He pursed his lips and looked over his shoulder at the diner customers and employees.
Just what have I gotten my brilliant a** into now?
Dajanté jogged over to the dumpster, where a poor employee was shaking. "Hey sis," he spoke softly to her, bending down slightly to get on her level and show some respect. "No time for introductions, but my partner here and me are tryin' to get ya'll out of dis mess," he spoke quickly to her, pointing back at Amethyst all-the-while. "Figured you'd know most the people, so if you could help get everyone together quick as ya can, that'd be great. Yeah?" Hailstrom smiled at her, even if it felt wrong and kind of forced in their current situation.

The bullets started flying inside. The goons in front of him took aim and fired. Yoshi sat there and placed his arm up and created a small buckler shield shielding his face. The bullets began to hit his body and he felt the pain from them hitting and bouncing off of him. It hurt, he knew he was going to be bruised in the morning. He took this time to just roll back towards the front of the vehicle he was sitting on.
"You guys are terrible sports!" he yelled from behind cover. He had a smile on his face, it may have been the rush of adrenaline surging through his body. He had never been shot at before, during practice yes but those were rubber bullets, these were the real thing! He could die but he remained grinning!
He went over his notes over his head, priority one: safety of civilians. As long as he kept those bullets flying towards him he should be ok. Two: He needed to subdue the bad guys until back up arrived... but what if there was no back up? TOO MUCH THINKING! he thought to himself. He used the armor that covered his right hand and forearm to create a mace, he used the left arm armor to create a kite shield.
He stood up as they had to reload, faced the gunmen. "WOW, I hope yall are getting paid by the hour, because if you're getting paid by victim, well you guys are just not getting paid at all!" He jumped to the hood of the car then ran towards the assailants. He bashed one of them over the face with his shield, hit the other one with the mace to his clavicle. He then reverted the creations back to full armor and stopped. "I'm totally dumb." He said as he stood there looking at the thugs. He grabbed one of them quickly and threw pushed him towards them and took this time to run, slide over the hood of another car and land on his butt on the floor behind cover. He hoped his team was helping the rest of the people inside.
”The toll of the warning bell My boots sink in bullet shells I have become an outlaw Nightmare of the damned The hangman left the scaffold I took him out, still blindfold I made this place a ghost town Painted the lanes red

The woman nodded, still too nervous to speak. Still, she knew her coworkers and some of the clients, and from them she could get the most level-headed to help corral the rest. All working together, they were able to get all of the civilians ready to go and anxious to get the hell out. ”Alright, everyone is ready,” the woman whom he had initially addressed replied to him.
As they were about to head out, a shot rang out. The dispatch that had been sent around to the back finally arrived, but before they could fire, Stephan had nailed the first one in the hand. Stephan was now out the back door, in direct line of sight of Dajante and potentially Amethyst as well. He gave them a quick glance and a nod, ”I’ll cover you. Get them out of here.” He drove the attackers back with a bullet wizzing past the face of the one he already injured. Before, he had planned on finding a way to get the people away from the combat, then disappearing as well, but now that wasn’t exactly an option. Maybe he was too old to be perceiving things correctly, but he couldn’t help but feel that the heroes who had shown up here weren’t pros yet. Things just felt a little too disorganized. If they weren’t yet pros, that had to mean they were too young to be pros yet. There was no way in hell he was going to leave a bunch of kids to clean up his mess. Hopefully the kids could take out a few of the gang, and he would stall and maybe subdue the rest. What he really didn’t want to do was kill anyone.
”It was a sunny day When I learned to stand up So fearful and afraid I held you in my arms So warm and so alive The day I went away They said I had to leave For glory and for peace For honour and for boon It won't be long until Our enemies are banned They take me back home soon Your picture in my heart Will give me will and strength And help me to hold out
I'll save the world for you My little boy I'll save the world for you
The winds of darkness will take me away On winds of blankness I'm going astray I'm going under I'm losing my way I'm freely falling I'm going astray”
The employee Dajanté had spoken with was surprisingly quick to round her fellow employees, as well as get the customers calm enough to at least play follow-the-leader with them. "Help her lead them opposite where we came," he said to Amethyst, turning toward her while the only sane employee started rounding people up. Dajanté took to helping out a family with small children over to the back end to go make sure the coats was clear from the side before he would let any of them book it, when the first tell-tale shot reverberated off their surrounding walls. The LeVane student whipped his head around and, sure enough, a couple goons were running up the alley from whence he and Amethyst came, bickering amongst one another and reloading their guns on-the-move.
s**t. Dajanté ran through a multitude of words his mother would've smacked him had she heard and stepped in front of the now-cowering family, already conjuring a breeze to feed his core. Guess I'm gonna 'ave ta fight now, he internally sighed, thinking this was the exact example of serious bullshit he was earlier hoping wouldn't happen. The mysterious "vigilante" (as Dajanté thought fit to think of him as) conveniently slipped into the back alley with them during the surprise gunfire, and even if he graciously offered to cover for them, Janté could tell that the man was obviously tired and so, not being one to leave anyone behind, even questionable strangers, Dajanté was certainly gonna force all the bastards back.
"Vita!" Hailstrom called out, not wanting to give away Amethyst's real name. "You go on without me and get them to the nearest safe zone, opposite way from this diner or whatever. I'm not gonna leave this hurtin' fighter 'ere, mmkay? See ya on the other side!" he finished, shooing the family behind him to follow after the now-crying-and-running customers while he charged back toward the dumpster for cover.
As he expected, the slight breeze wasn't much, but it provided enough of a boost for Hailstrom to gather the energy to pull off a medium cyclone. The hero-in-training had thrown out his arm on his way to the dumpster, fingers spread as if he was reaching out to grab hold of something. Wisps of white curled wound up his arm like smoke, but the real focus was in front of the mad-dashing gang grumps. Just as they were aiming their guns to take out their biggest threat, aka the vigilante, wisps of white curled up and around in a circular direction, wrapping over-and-over to build a medium tornado, sucking whatever debris lied in the immediate area into the disaster. Dajanté had to tug hard at his core to add onto the storm, widen the epicenter and build at its height. Luckily for him, the dumpster was pretty close by, so he was able to lean against and focus on lifting hand motions as well as breath control. Took a lot of effort to build a decently-sized tornado, after all.
To say the goons were surprised would be an understatement. Poor guys probably never saw it coming as they had to struggle to not be swept up into the cyclone that literally appeared out of nowhere to them, couple surely losing their guns to the unforgiving tug of the wind. Funny as it was, Dajanté didn't think the vigilante deserved to be swept-up with them, so he pushed the moved the cyclone against the goons and shouted after the man to 'take cover.' Prolly shoulda warned him, he thought, despite the fact that the gang members were a little too close to give any safety calls prior to his action anyway.

The gust of wind was felt from behind cover. Yoshi peered his head slightly and saw some goons fly off in the whirlwind. Shots were ringing out. He hoped his team had gotten the folk out of the diner. Yoshi created a towering shield using his entire left arm armor. It was dense enough to block any incoming bullets. He quickly stepped out from cover, a serious gaze upon his eyes as he rushed through the flying enemies, covering himself. Some of them remained standing, he ran behind one of them and shield bashed him hard enough over the head, the unconscious goon dropped to the floor. He reverted his shield back to cover his arm. With this distraction Yoshi ran and jumped over a vehicle across the street and made his way to the back alley. There he met up with Amethyst and some of the people that were inside the diner. "Alright I'll cover our rear just in case." He said as he created a towering shield in each hand, using up the armor on both arms, up to his shoulders. "Dajante?! You got everyone? We should move out of here!"

Amethyst concentrated again to see if anyone was injured. She would have to heal them after this if it was minor, but major, she would have to act fast. She kept up with Dajante, careful not to walk on his heels, but to stay close, obeying when to stop and stay still or come. Really she didn't do the strategy thing and just thought of herself as only support. She saw the horde rush behind the dumpsters and looked at Dajante and then the horde again. No one injured so far and that was good. Amethyst waited for Dajante to come back to let her know what was happening.
She nodded at his response and looked again over toward the group to see what she was dealing with. "Got it, I don't wanna see that either. They are innocent bystanders.." He jogged over with him and did the same, showing respect as he did. Amethyst helped gather the bystanders and make sure they were safe before letting them go. Like Dajante, her head spun around, hearing the bullet. Now it was getting bad, as she saw the two walking their way. She then stepped forward, ready to fight. She could heal herself easily, so that wasn't the part she worried about. Once Dajante called out her hero name, she looked at him and shook her head just lightly when he told her to go without him. Regardless of them just being goons, he was her teammate and she couldn't leave without her teammates.
At this point, it was getting the bystanders out of the way. "I'll see you in a minute, Hailstorm!" Amethyst then nodded and grabbed the family he shooed off and led them away, getting out of sight. She could catch up to her team later and heal them if necessary. Right now, she had to led them out of harm's way.
