Temba rikuHEART, the link you provided, that website is down or gone, but here is the current and active HSUS site. http://www.hsus.org/protect_seals.html Yes, the website you put right there is the HSUS homepage for the seal hunt. But the one I provided was the URL of a video with some footage of the slaughter. 3nodding And ppl please go look at the inhumane farming thread cuz I posted a new video there too!!!! It's so sad....reminds me of what I've learned about the Holocaust. cry

Well I don't know much about this seal hunt, but I will say if they are just hunting them for their own gain, then thats not right! To make it worse they are brutally killing them, there is no point to that at all!

Well I checked out the site, I don't agree with what they are doing. It's one thing to kill a bear and use it's skin for warmth like early man did, but doing it now for alittle extra in their pocket is kind of hmmm lets call it outragous! There is so much that humanity can improve on!

I feel that we've almost lost our connection with nature, and now all we're interested in is money. It's so sad... crying
I watched a video today in Earth Science (remember, this is my tree-hugging teacher biggrin ) by David Suzuki (it's another one of his videos) called Sacred Balance. It's about finding a balance between the unavoidable modern world and the natural world.
I just wish that the modern world wasn't so unavoidable.

OMG, WTF?!?!Look at this:The Humane Society of the United States In the area where the Canadian government authorized sealers to begin hunting this morning, catastrophic ice conditions already led to the deaths of as many as 90 percent of seal pups in March. And yet the Canadian government still lets sealers continue the hunt - just for vanity.

It would be okay if the population had not been reduced so drastically already, at this point, it's just too much.

It would be okay if the population had not been reduced so drastically already, at this point, it's just too much. I think it was stupid in the first place. First of all, why is it so necessary to kill these BABY seals for their FUR? Secondly, BEATING them to death isn't exactly a very pleasant way of dying. And then skinning them, LEAVING BEHIND the carcass in the water? What a waste. At least use the other parts of the seal if you have to kill them. mad
