Prompt "While out camping, your character(s) notice that things keep disappearing, then reappearing in strange places with scratch marks, bitemarks and cracks.

Amie stood arms tightly crossed over her chest. She scowled hard at the fire in the middle of her campsite. "WHY in the hell am I here right now?" she muttered under her breath waving a bug away from her face. "stupid bugs, in the stupid woods, no power... KILL me now" she whispered looking over her shoulder hoping the Mayor didn't hear her. She knew WHY she was here, as a woman new to rosebud she desperately wanted to make some friends. She wanted to feel like she fit in to the quaint town. So naturally when she heard camping was a fun bonding experience she HAD to go with someone. Despite the fact she hated nature, and just about everything about being outside.

Don't get her wrong she did like Aniiase, she was a pleasant woman with a cute drawl. If Amies' heart hadn't been spoken for she would fawn over the girl herself. She shook her head hard don't think that while you're out here alone in the woods with her. "Uh I think we need more firewood" she called over her shoulder glaring at the dying fire. "Have you seen the axe? I can cut up one of these logs." She looked around the campsite confused, "I'm quite sure I left it right here." She motioned to the tree next to the logs they had gathered.

Among the things that Anaiise loved, camping was definitely up in the top five.....her job being top priority, of course, with Rosebud as a whole coming in second and the people of her beloved home nestled at third. One of the best things she loved about being Mayor was that she had many chances to meet the people of her town, especially enjoying when she got to greet and welcome newcomers both visiting and moving in. Heck, she had helped develop the welcoming committee long before she had been elected and wanted to continue heading it with the same genuine gusto she had as a plain old citizen. Rosebud was filled with so many wonderful people and new ones were coming more frequently, including the lovely grimm she found herself out in the woods with today.

When Anaiise had met Amie through Fenris' introduction, she wanted to make a good impression upon someone who was special to him, both as a person and as a city official. Things had started off....tense. Amie was not the most approachable of people and she seemed to be clingy and defensive when it came to Fenris....though Anaiise felt that it only made sense, since the girl was new to the town and knew almost no one else except for the coffee house owner. The neko did her best to not take any of it personally and tried to remain as pleasant and friendly as ever, which wasn't that hard; she was always genuine when it came to being nice. She really did want to help Amie feel welcome and settled comfortably in Rosebud however she could, so when she heard about the camping trip, she gladly offered to go with Amie and teach her some things about the outdoors if she would like. It was fairly clear that Anaiise was trying to maintain a positive light on the experience from the start, despite Amie's body language and attitude....and even as she set up the tent, her ears had caught some of the words muttered that confirmed that things weren't going quite as smoothly as she had hoped. Still, she said nothing of it and tried to keep a smile on her face and confidence in her heart.

"Already?" Anaiise looked up when Amie said that they needed more firewood, standing up with a stretch and seeing that, indeed, the fire was starting to die. How queer....but that was fine! They had found plenty of firewood that should last them through the time they'd spend up. "The axe? Wasn't it....? Huh.....landsake, where did it get off to?" The neko scratched behind an ear in confusion, adjusting her glasses before she turned about to glance over the site to check if she could see it offhand. She heard a metallic 'thunk' sound and looked back towards the tent where she had set aside the cooking utensils; the handle of the axe was sticking out from the larger pot. Anaiise cocked her head to the side before she picked it up, looking at it in confusion. "Well that's a funny place for it to have ended up....hmm.." She inspected the handle and saw that it had some marks on it; imprints pressed into the wood that looked like they were teeth of some sort of animal. "Could have been a curious raccoon that got fascinated with it, then left it here out of boredom. Tricky little critters but basically harmless as long as we make sure they can't get into anything." She walked over and handed the axe to Amie with a warm smile. "When you put the wood on the fire, I have plenty of kindling from the leaves and twigs I swept out of the way from where I set up the tent. It'll make sure they catch and burn seamlessly."

Amie really needed to suck it up, she knew she had a rough around the edges type personality. Doing things that she wasn’t fond of only pricked the edges and made her quite a pain to deal with. HOWEVER she knew the mayor was doing her best to be kind even after the rude was Amie acted when she was what amie considered too friendly to her man. Now though after knowing the neko a bit more Amie realized that she was just a really nice lady and was like that to everyone she met, and it wasn’t a “i’m going to take your man vibe”. “Well i’ve never seen a raccoon to leave THOSE types of marks, but i’m not exactly the wildlife expert ya know?” She let out a soft chuckle than ended in more of a whine, as the thought of her campsite being invaded by critters entered her mind.

“Are you sure this is the best place to camp?” She looked over her shoulder to the creepy woods that surrounded her. She didn’t know a lot about picking campsites but this one sure did give off a weird vibe, but that was probably just her. “Oh cool, thanks.” Amie took the axe and chopped some of the logs they had gathered placing them on the fire one by one. She took a handful of leaves and sprinkled them on top. Okay maybe she had NO idea what she was doing but she was trying an that had to count for something. Right?

"It does look like a little more damaged than you'd expect....but there could have been more than one toying around with it. You never know." Anaiise smiled to the young lady when she took the axe, heading back to their supplies near the tent to look for something. She really did hope that this trip would help bridge the misunderstanding they seemed to have when they first met. It was her duty both as a representative of her town and people and as a friend. "I came out to these woods a couple times when I was a kid in Aether Scouts. Had some day camp activities and even slept overnight out here once or twice. They've always been a little on the creepy side but nothing really terrible has happened. Just nosy curious little critters wondering who the invaders are." Then again, she was a lot younger during all of that and could easily have forgotten something more serious...but she had confidence that things would be fine.

"Would you like some tea? Now that the fire's coming back up I can brew us up something nice. I think I have a bag with some of that new tea shop's blends in it." Maybe a nice warm cup would help them relax and enjoy the coming night time. Out here the stars would be easier to see even compared to back home. Anaiise opened up the bag that had the smaller cooking utensils and pulled out cups, the bag of the mentioned teas....and then the neko was rummaging through with a perplexed look on her face. "Huh....that's strange....did I put the kettle in a different bag?" No, she was sure that she had put things away accordingly....but....she opened her main backpack to check, just to be sure. Two things going missing....or being misplaced....that could just have been coincidence, right?
