When he did, her eyes stare at the rowlet as it seemed to fly off and start a fight with a bonsly which had been in the tall grass. Her eyes sparkling as she reached for her camera with one hand and took a picture of the battle. She planned on showing her pictures and sketches to her sister and parents at some point. So she wanted to take as many as possible.
When Jasper started to speak up, Ryonah turned to look at him. Her face still void of emotion but her eyes blinking with curiosity as the male offered to walk her back to town. "Th...Thank you. Its good of you to offer." she said in a timid voice as she held Ariel in her arms. The adorable popplio gently blowing bubbles which made a soft giggle come from Ryonah though it was devoid of emotion facial wise.
When Jasper introduced himself Ryonah nodded as she held out her hand like a handshake. "its nice to meet you Jasper. As well as you Ankhat. Sorry if I come off a bit emotionless and cold. I...I was born with a birth defect where I can't use most of my facial muscles so I always look rather cold and indifferent because of it." She said apologetically as she hugged Ariel close to her chest. The tiny water pokemon making soft coos at it hugged her back.

A hand now cupping his chin as he leaned from side to side to examine the girls face. He had indeed noted the lack of expression but hadn't paid it any mind, until now. An interested defeat he thought, keeping such thoughts to himself. He assumed she probably got enough gruff from people for it. She didn't need his curiosity probing into her personal life. "Master, they're getting restless." The felines voice echoed again. This time exclusively in his mind. "Huh, oh yes I suppose we should get moving then." He said aloud addressing the pokemon. He turned to face the path back to the town. It ran from the beach to a small grassing area before touching a paved road some short distance away. The Alola Region was relatively small compared to many other regions. They'ed reach town within just a few hours, rather then days or weeks had they been in the Kanto or Sinnoh. His destination was a museum and an exhibit on ancient ruins here in the region and its far-flung connection to those in the Hoenn and Johto. "Oh yes, I don;t mind your expression ma'am. I'm not very good at reading people anyhow." Jasper remarked taking the lead. His staff in hand but held aloft from the ground. Pulling up his oversized hood. "Rowlet, come on, we're leaving now." Ryonah blinked as she noticed that Jasper was staring at her. Her cheeks flushing slightly as her expression remained emotionless. Though when it seemed that the Ankhat must of spoke to her trainer, Ryonah blinked in confusion as Jasper turned his attention to the feline pokemon. She stood there silently as she lightly patted Ariel on the head. When the mention of her expression came back up, Ryonah looked up from Ariel and nodded when the other mentioned that he didn't mind her birth defect. "That's good to know. I've gotten into the habit of telling people about my birth defect because most people assume I'm cold to everyone when I don't mean to be." she said timidly before hearing Jasper call for his Rowlet. Her eyes sparkled at the cute owl pokemon as she followed after Jasper when the male took the lead.
At the question, she shook her head. "No. I'm from Grotto myself. My family came to Alola on vacation and I decided that I wanted to start my journey here. My father is an archeologist. He tries to study the ancient past himself. My sister also works at the museum that our father works at. It kind of fueled my desire to catalog my own journey." she said before she blushed slightly and lifted her camera which was hanging from her neck. "I was actually going to ask you and Ankhat if it would be alright to take a picture of you. I planned on documenting the areas, people and pokemon I meet during my own journey." she said in a timid voice as she came to walk next to Jasper. Perhpas he could give clues to the mystery he sought to solve. He'd spoken to many well-known scientists and learn very little. No single ancient habitat of man could be dated beyond a certain point yet there was clear evidance that humanity had existed in some form far before then. Connected to his mystery was where had human-like pokemon come from? Perhaps they were an ancient off bracnhc of humanity or perhaps inversed and humanity was the off branch? "Oh, interesting. I may have need to speak with him one day if an opportunity presents itself." Jasper mused aloud looking back down at the camera that hung around her neck. He wasn't against being photographed but wasn't sure of the deceive either. He'd heard tell that such items would steal one's soul and transfer it into the picture. Making him a puppet to its holder but surely such magic was untrue? He'd seen many a picture of people and pokemon alike and heard nothing of puppetry. Though his lack of technological understanding left an unease question in the back of his mind. Though he didn't want to elude to his true reasons for finding the origins of man. Who would believe him? The world had changed so much and he understood so little. He'd kept his tell hidden thus far. Keeping it furthermore he deemed essential to his quest. Ryonah blinked as she listened to what Jasper said about having to meet her dad at some point. She nodded as she looked up at the taller male. "I'm sure my dad wouldn't mind speaking to you. He is a very nice person and is willing to talk to anyone that my sister or I meet during our separate journeys. He is....a bit passionate about his work. Which I like because it always made me happy. But...some people get overwhelmed by his passion sometimes." she said as she looked at Ariel who was making small water bubbles blow out of her nose. A soft giggle came to her when she saw this action, though her face showed no expression of laughing, it was obvious she was due to the sound she was making.
When the sounds around them seemed to quiet, her eyes blinked in confusion as they started to slow. her eyes looking up at Jasper while the male seemed in thought. It was obvious to the young lady that her question for a picture was something the male was deeply thinking about. A look of worry in her eyes that she may have offended the other. "Y...You don't have to if you don't want to...i...i just wanted to take a picture for my travel scrapbook." she said silently with a look in her eyes that said she was worried about causing the male to be upset.
Though it seemed the other was already answering and asking if she would like to take a picture with him and his pokemon. her eyes seemed to sparkle when the other pulled out a rather ornate box that held an old Pokeball inside of it. It looked so old and mysterious but when the ball was activated and a large claydol came out, it made Ryonah blush deeply while her expression remained the same. "That is the most beautiful claydol I have ever seen. It has such a deep color and bright red eyes~" she said in a fond and happy voice though her expression remained the same. She was so amazed that the other had such a beautiful pokemon and one that she had seen many times before growing up. She nodded though when the other mentioned taking a picture with his pokemon. "I would love that~. Right Ariel??" she asked the cute popplio who made a happy clap of her front flippers as she stared at the claydol happily. cooing excitely at the thought of seeing the other humans pokemon.

He wasn't aware whether if it was as vibrant as she described or not. He'd only ever seen the one he owned so he couldn't compare. Claydol were after all naturally difficult to sculpt and bring to life so he imagined with the passage of time many had died or been captured by now. His had been crafted by his mother and aunt. Come to think of it that might make it the most pristine one left in existence? He took the complement in stride all the same pulling from his bag another few pokeballs. From these he released all but his Unown's who had no intentions of revealing he had. That and his Uxie. Another he intended to keep secret. Reveling he had a legendary pokemon might cause far more issues then revealing his Unown. "Ok everyone, this is miss Ryonah and she wishes to take a picture of us for her records." Jasper knelt beside the smallest of his pokemon. A rabbit with something akin to purple flames erupting from where its tail should be. The pokemon jerked and twitched robotically. Behind him relaxed a massive white and emerald green creature. The first pokemon he'd ever captured upon his arrival to this new world. A Drampa. Its massive head swaying from side to side. At his feet sat a Fennekin who was suffering from a small outburst of snizzes each one accompanied with a small release of flames. Picking the Cybun up and turning to the fire-type he watched with mild concern for the snizzing creature. "Allergies bother you again Fennekin?" Ryonah's eyes seemed to sparkle at the array of pokemon that were under Jasper's care. Her eyes looking over each one as she hugged Ariel close to her chest. The tiny water type blinking at the fennekin as it started to let lose a huge sneezing fit. A soft coo came from the female popplio before Ryonah allowed her to on the ground out of her arms so that Ariel could check on the sneezing fox pokemon. The water seal hopped towards the fennekin before gently reaching with one of her flippered hands and lightly wiped the fennekin's nose to try and help the other pokemon. Ryonah thought it was a bit motherly that her pokemon was willing to wipe another pokemon's nose. It made her happy though since she could tell her Ariel was a caring and loving popplio. As Jasper mentioned to his pokemon that she had wanted to take a picture of them. Ryonah nodded as she looked down at Ariel who hopped herself out of photo shot and gently sat there on the sidelines to ensure the fennekin was okay.
"Okay everyone. If you could all stare this way. Please~" she said gently as she lifted her digital camera from her neck and started to check the screen to ensure everyone was in the shot. She then turned off the flash due to the beautiful lighting that was already there and pressed her finger to take the picture. She took a few of them before stopping and looking them over. "Okay. Thank you, everyone. I think I got some good pictures here." she said gently before walking over to see if Jasper thought she needed a few more. "What do you think?" I think they turned out perfect." she said happily though like always her emotions didn't portray on her face. Though as she walked closer she took notice of Ariel returning to the other trainers fennekin as she made soft bubbles with her nose to try and cheer up the fire type who might go into another sneezing fit.

Ryonah blinked as she listened to Jasper's words. It made her a little curious about what kind of life this man had before he came to the region. The thought that someone hadn't seen a digital camera....it wasn't something she had thought was possible. But she didn't want to push the others buttons too much so she just brushed it off and instead tried to explain what the camera did. "Sorry....I...I didn't mean to be rude. Camera's are actually quite popular these days though. I use them mostly to document the things I see. I even take pictures of pokemon and landscapes so I could sketch them later when I had more time." she said gently as she placed her camera back around her neck. Pulling off her satchel and digging around in it to pull out a scrapbook and a sketchpad she had been using on the journey from her home region to Alola.
"This is my scrapbook where I store the photo's I have developed. And then my sketchpad is what I draw the pictures I took into it. My sister did it before when she had her own journey. So I decided to do it as well. I always admired my sister's drawings and photos she took during her travels." she said happily though her face remained the same. Opening her scrapbook she showed the a few pages of what she had been able to print from her camera. Ocean views from the boat she had taken to get to alola, the people here and there and a photo of her sister who had been kind enough to make sure she made it there safely. Her sister looked like an older version of Ryonah. But unlike Ryonah she had a fun and loving expression on her face in each picture. Then there was the sketchbook where she had sketched the scenery of the ocean with wingull flying overhead and wailmer popping out of the surface of the ocean. Ryonah took great care in each of her styles of art. She took wonderous pictures that most people with a camera could only dream of taking. Most of them showed great emotion in them.
Her eyes sparkled as she showed the other her art. Though she was unsure if it was as interesting to Jasper as it was to herself. "My love of art and photography kind of stemmed from seeing my sister's. She always knew how to take the right picture at the right moment. She wasn't as good at drawing as I was. But she still showed such emotion and feeling in her photography. I was never able to show emotion due to my birth defect. So...when I saw everyone enjoying my sister's photographs as a child and the expressions on their faces showed how much they loved it...i...I always wanted to see that when others stared at my own pictures as well. It's...a way for me to show such care and emotion when my face can not express such a feeling." she said in a happy voice despite her facial expression being blank and emotionless.

In his time art hadn't progressed to such fine detail as this. He could sketch but nothing to this degrees. It was as if the people and place had been perfectly captured. Then a thought. But he'd always lacked the skill to capture what he saw in a way he could properly reference later. It had on more than one occasion been a hindrance to his quest. "Such splendor!" He proclaimed forcing himself not to pull the sketchbook from her hands in order to flip through the pages himself. "Perhaps, I shalt remain in thy company, I couth very much have need of such skill in my quest!""Lingo." Ankhat reminded. He ignored the mental communication. "Tell me, would you mind if I paired with you for a while longer? Id, like to enlist your help in documenting the artifacts and scrips, iv discovered!" He reached into his oversized sleeves and pulled out an extremely old and tattered parchment book, bound in leather and held together in tween. Opening it he revealed his own work. Nothing impressive. He'd only noted and drawn what he had assumed would be of importance. Though he'd yet to learn the new script and had written everything in ancient runes. He hadn't given thought to if she knew it was a now dead langue or not. He'd rather quickly learned himself most couldn't read it, let along knew it was a language. It wouldn't matter he'd already made a cover story everyone had believed so far. He was after all a "foreigner". Writing in a different language wouldn't be unrealistic or unusual. "I've been trying for years find connections between the ancient culters of man but I can't catch the detail as you can so I've lost valuable clues I'm sure. Ryonah blushed slightly when it was obvious that Jasper was in awe at her skills of sketching and photo taking. Her eyes sparkled as the other looked over her hobby filled crafty before speaking. If she could smile she would have because she felt so happy that Jasper loved her art so much. Especially when the other started to speak in an old style of speaking. It made her want to smile even more. But like always her facial expression remained the same. Though when the other asked if he could stay with her as a travel partner in exchange for her help with capturing the scrips and images he had found during his years of archeology.
It made her eyes sparkly once more. Especially when the other pulled out a rather old leatherbound book and showed her the runed letters inside. Ryonah let out a soft gasp as she put her sketchbook and scrapbook in her sachel before gently reaching out to touch the book. Her eyes sparkling with curiosity and amazement at seeing the runes. She had only seen a few of the runes from her father's archeology work growing up. So she could read it somewhat a little but not all of it.
"I recognize a few of these runes. Not all of them though. My father is an archeologist and scientist so growing up he used to teach me some of the old cultural languages since I was rather curious about them." she said as her eyes sparkled. She looked at the page offered before she decided to let the book go to Jasper once more. "To be honest I've never seen it well written before. Not many people, even in the same field as my dad, know this language as well as my dad did. It was really hard to learn because of it being such a far off language from the past. But I do know how to read a few of the words written. Not that well though." she said as she rubbed her arm slightly bashful.
Though she looked back up at Jasper with a twinkle in her eyes, despite the lack of facial expression. "I don't mind us being travel companions by the way. It's always fun to have someone along with you on your journey. And I would love to help you document what you find. It's not much different then what I do with my art, to be honest." she said with a happy sound to her voice as she looked over at Jasper.

He was slightly concerned with her ability to read some of his scripts but not knowing the full context was a benefit in his favor. He knew compared to this new script his was far more complex with some symbols having multiple meanings or changing meanings depending on paired symbols. This he hoped would keep his secrets hidden long enough to find what he needed or at the very least a way to convince her he was absolutely nutters. "Splendid!" He proclaimed storing the pokeballs back inside her sleeves than his sketchbook. "Well I think in the meantime we should get moving."

When the other spoke up once more after putting his items back where they belonged, She nodded as she motioned for Ariel to come over before she picked her right back into her arms and cradled her as she waited for Jasper to recall all his pokemon.
"Right~. The next stop would be...hau'oli city. Its where i got off the ferry. So its a pretty big city. I havent had much time to check it out since i wanted to get my pokemon right away." she said happily as she nuzzled Ariel on the head slightly. The Popplio making happy coos at the affection as Ryonah looked back up at Jasper with a look in her eyes that conveyed she was excited about having a traveling friend. Though her expression like always didn't show a thing.
Turning she looked around curiously before motioning towards the direction of the end of route 1. "I think the end of the route is this way. Though..there are a few exits according to the map..." she said silently as she thought about which way they should go.
