×××× Galand ◥ | ◤ Drace×××× ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[ How disgustingly awkward! Galand sits there full blush, completely caught off guard by what Leona and Dist just saw. He never expected them to be there! And to make matters worse, Astraea is waking up. He fumbles to try and regain his composure, but gosh darn it the moment he sees her face the blush starts right back up, stronger than before! That’s just...unfair! He tries to turn his head away, covering his mouth with a free hand. Surely she didn’t notice, right?! And right on queue, she asks him what’s wrong. Truthfully he should be the one panicking at this point, but for some reason Astraea seems to be more offguard than he. Unintentionally, due to his brutally honest nature, Galand answers her without considering or even thinking about his words or their consequences.
Luckily, he whispers it out behind the veil of his hand. “Well, it’s cause your sleeping face was so cute, so…!!! Oh wait, wait! I didn’t-” he stop himself, placing his face in both of his hands. The woman goes on about something that happened yesterday, but he can’t even recall what in the world happened. His lift slowly lifts as he thinks back, lost in thought, but in the end the only thing he can recall is the softness of his partner’s kiss as she fought to keep him in line. And there goes the blush again. He turns to her with a face full of shock, wondering why she’s bringing that up NOW. Was she disgusted by it? Maybe that was her first kiss? It was certainly his. And she wasted it on trying to keep him sane! “Oh man…” he says as he reaches out a hand for here. Apologize! He definitely has to apologize here! But before he even gets the chance, the woman goes on a tirade of apologies herself, as if she were in the wrong?!
Galand swings his legs over so that they hang over the side of the bed, and with a determined look, he shakes his head before eyeing her down. “I enjoyed it! It was my first, but I don’t regret it, not one bit! So, no more apologizing about it!” he blurts out, once again falling victim to his brutal honesty. His eyes squint in worry as sweat rolls down the side of his face. Leona, down the hall, bites down on a handkerchief as she fights back the urge to squeal with all her might. After the awkwardness settles in, Galand scratches the side of his cheek, turned away from making eye contact with Astraea. “S-So um, food… right. Here, I’m feeling better so let me help!” he says, trying to change the subject if possible, fumbling and wobbling before tipping over. Typical man. Acting tough when you can’t even feel your legs to move them in the first place. Forget cooking, you shouldn’t even be moving. ]

Astraea Tethys
XXX "Huh?" Luckily for Galand this time, Astraea wasn't able to hear what he had said when he'd had his hand over his mouth, though she wasn't oblivious to the fact that he seemed even more flustered than before. In the midst of her string of apologies, the surprise on his face only made her feel all the more apologetic. Maybe he hadn't even know she'd done anything and this was the first time he was hearing about it?! He had been very out of it after all. It was best if she apologized again! Before she could though, she was silenced as he reached a hand out to her. Taking his hand, she'd tilt her head looking confused, a rosy hue still painting her cheeks. When he swung his legs over the side of the bed, Raea tensed up, scooting her chair a little closer. "Careful.. I don't want you to reopen your wounds." Concern overshadowed all the embarrassment she'd felt before as she watched him move, honestly shocked that he even had the energy or ability to sit up like he had.
Just when it seemed like she'd found a new conversation topic - scolding the man sitting across from her - he returned to the scenario she'd been apologizing for. Listening to him, her eyes widened, blushing a deeper shade of red than before. In fact her whole body felt like it was on fire! "W-Wait.. Wh..?!" How was she supposed to take his words, exactly?! On one hand, she'd totally stolen his first kiss, but on the other he'd said he'd enjoyed it. HE'D ENJOYED IT?! The young woman was both elated and completely perplexed. The words were simple and yet it was as if she couldn't register the full meaning behind it. Did he just like kissing in general?! Or her specifically?! Did he actually... feel the same way she.. Oh, god, she felt dizzy. Don't pass out, don't pass out. Unintentionally squeezing his hand, she broke eye contact at the same time Galand did, her free hand over one side of her face. "O-Okay.. s-sor.. Ah.. Okay.." For a moment she was quiet, as if hesitating to say her next words, and when she spoke it was nearly a whisper. "It was also.. A-Also my first kiss.. And um.." The room seemed to be getting brighter around her. Don't pass out, don't pass out. Trembling, her voice seemed even quieter than it had been before as she continued. "I enjoyed it, too.. S-S.. So, thanks!"
Astraea sat in a daze for a few moments longer, fighting to calm herself down enough to a point that she wasn't going to keep over. The awkward silence hung heavily between the pair until Galand once more brought up breakfast. Ah, yes! A distraction! Something completely normal, and standard, and not... whatever this was! Breathing a sigh of relief, she'd catch his last words just a moment too late, turning her shocked, horrified expression to him as he attempted to get out of bed. "No, no, no, wait! Please don't try t-!" Had she been more prepared, she might have been able to steady him before he'd fallen, but she'd been caught by surprise and was still recovering from her own wounds. Not to mention Galand was a lot heavier than he looked, and though she'd tried to stabilize him she just ended up getting dragged along with him, her hand still grasping his own. At the very least, she tried her best to move her free arm around him, her hand at the back of his head as they fell so that he wouldn't received yet another injury.
Mostly on top of him, she didn't know whether to be more embarrassed or angry, so she went with a mixture of both. "I'm sorry you're so damn stubborn?!" Ah, no, that hadn't come out right. With a frustrated, embarrassed huff, she resolved herself to just laying still for a moment, the side of her face against Galand's chest. It dawned on her then that the only reason she was able to experience the emotions she was currently - awkward as they may be - was because he had survived the day before. "Honestly.." Astraea knew she had to get up, but for just a little bit she wanted to be selfish. It felt nice being against Galand like this after all, feeling the warmth of his skin and the steady rise and fall of his chest as he breathed. It made her feel at peace. That didn't mean she wasn't still upset with him, though! "You almost died..You know you almost died, right?!" Saying the words out loud reminded her of how afraid she'd been, and she tightened the hold she had on him, tears welling up in her eyes. "S-So just.. take it easy, please.. Please, stop pushing yourself so hard! B-Because I.." As much as she wanted to say it, she just couldn't. I love you. "Because I really care about you, Galand. And I'd be lost without you here. We all would."
Slowly sitting up, she'd wipe her eyes and sniffle, giving her head a quick shake. "Now, if you're going to be so headstrong, at least let me help you, okay?" She'd smile lightly at him, carefully helping to sit him up, supporting him to stand and either assisting him back into bed or leading him down the hall depending on where he wished to go.

×××× Galand ◥ | ◤ Drace×××× ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
[ All he wanted to do was help out. To get onto his feet, and move around a bit. After all, what’s so wrong with trying to spend more time with someone precious to you? Unfortunately, his body had to go and be injured still, resulting in the pair collapsing onto the floor. Him beneath Astraea, dazed, but fairly alright considering how battered his body is. He groans into a rough apology before shifting an hand onto his forehead in respect to the dazzling pain surging through it. “Y-Yep. Sorry I’m so stubborn...haha.” he reflects, being genuine but more so embarrassed. After a few moments he begins to wonder when the woman would get off from atop him. Usually by now she’d have fumbled away in a blush. But, she doesn’t budge. Her question pierces him through, however, resulting in him flinching. It was probably obvious but, looks like she really does worry about him quite a lot.
The embarrassment soon fades, and instead of covering his face, his had slides down to rest on top of Astraea’s head. Where he’d soothingly stroke her hair as he stares up to the ceiling above them calmly. “Yeah. I know. I must have worried you…” His eyes slowly shut as he thinks back on what happened then. Maybe it was some sort of repression he had built up, but he didn’t even think about it that deeply until now. He truly did almost leave everyone behind over something like that. His body would begin to lightly shake as tears will up in the corners of his eyes. The same eyes that open to reveal a more determined face now. “I...can be an idiot, you know? I’m always acting before thinking. My body just selfishly moves, not considering how my actions might affect those around me. I don’t have any excuses, Raea. But I promise, I’ll work on doing better from now on. Not just for my sake, but yours as well. Because…” He pauses, slowly shifting his more injured arm through winces of pain, before raises up to the sky as if grabbing for something.
A confident smile takes over his more serious tone from before as he speaks up just a bit louder than normal. “I want to be a light. A beacon of hope to which all men are drawn. I want them to continue to hope and love. To look forward to the future.” he says before lowering his arm back to the ground beside himself. With his partner’s help, he’s able to stand back up and the two move towards the kitchen. Though he did promise not to act up anymore, he at least wanted to stay around Raea. To watch her work, talk with her, and generally be in her presence. He can’t help it after all. As he sits about the counter, he’d watch her work while fiddling with various ingredients himself. He squints upon seeing them, not really understanding how this or that could possibly go together, and somehow or another winds up making some unholy mixture that immediately makes the nearby vased flowers to grow sickly and crumble away. It’s as if you can almost see their pain before their life fades.
Whatever Galand made with just a tomato and eggs...should no longer be classified as food. Rather, you’d be better off considering it some sort of sin against man. He lifts the cup up and holds it towards Leona proudly. “Yosh. This looks decent enough! Leo, try tasting this for me! I made it myself!” Immediately, Leona’s body twitches as she refuses to turn around and face the man. She nervously flips through the pages of her magazine, humming a tune rather rigidly. Dist, doing nothing in particular, tries to play it off as him being sleep, wanting nooo part of that damnation. “Hm. Must be really engrossed in that magazine… Wonder what it’s about. Ah well, her loss. Down the hatch!” he says, holding the cup up preparing to drink it down himself. ]

Astraea Tethys
XXX Warm. From the blush across her face to the feeling spreading through her chest, she felt incredibly warm. But it wasn't unpleasant in the slightest, finding the sensation of Galand stroking her head comforting and strangely familiar, as if she'd felt it in a dream before. Was it so bad that she wanted to stay like this? Closing her eyes Astraea relaxed against him, a light smile on her face as he spoke and explained the reasons behind his actions. Truthfully, she understood why he'd done what he did and she couldn't blame him entirely. They were similar in that regard; both of them had the instincts to protect the people they cared about without any concerns for their own personal well being. Had the details of the mission differed slightly, it could have easily been her who had almost died, even if she tended to be the most resilient of the team. If that made him an idiot, then she was an idiot, too. Listening to his desires for what he wished to become, Astraea felt her heart swell with pride, tears forming in her eyes again, but this time it wasn't because she was upset.
The entire ideology Galand had, wanting people to know peace and hope, it was one of the reasons she had fallen so in love with him in the first place. It seemed almost like a naive dream, to wish for a world where everyone could live in happiness, but she couldn't help but want it, too. Opening her eyes, she'd shift her head to angle her face up towards his, smiling at him with a rosy hue across her face. "You are a light, Galand." To her. To Eden's Dove. To the people they'd already helped. To Raea, he was a star, a bright beacon of light that lit the way through the darkness of the world. "You'll shine even brighter from here on out." As she helped him sit up, she paused to flick his forehead. "If you don't go and burn yourself out, that is." Grinning at him, she pulled one of his arms across her shoulder, wrapping her own around him to assist him back to standing. "But that's what we're here for, isn't it?" If he was a star, all she wanted to be was his sky.
A few moments later, she'd managed to drag her leader to the kitchen which truthfully he had absolutely no business being in. If he had just been injured that was one thing, she was mostly just being selfish in taking him with her because she wanted to spend more time with him. But there was more. Galand Drace was cursed with culinary disaster. 'No, it'll be fine this time.. I'll keep an eye on him and he should be too tired to do any real damage.. Yeah.. It'll be fine!' Helping him to sit up on the counter, she washed her hands and began pulling out ingredients, cracking eggs into a bowl and beginning to cook thick slices of bacon on the stove top. Cutting up vegetables, she turned to look at Galand with a smile. "Oh, did you want some tea? Is green tea alright?" The woman was fairly certain that was what he drank the most, and she moved to grab the kettle, pausing before she could complete the action. If she started making tea she'd have to turn her back to him.. No, there's no way he could do anything bad in that amount of time! It would just be a moment!
Quickly she'd prepare the tea and turn back to look at Galand, looking shocked to see he'd somehow not only gotten himself a cup but had made something, too. 'A-Ah.. The lilies...' How could he have made something so deadly in such a short amount of time?! All she had out was eggs and vegetables! Seeing him hold up his concoction, she couldn't help but feel bad. After all, he looked so proud! But Galand, no. Please. Step away from the biochemical weapon and forget anything ever happened. Astraea couldn't even blame her comrades for their feigned slumber or concentration on magazines. They all knew how horrible his cooking was even without tasting it, but now she was the only one could could protect Galand from himself.
"WAAAAAAAAAAAH!" With a shrill cry, Astraea suddenly smacked the cup from the man's hands, sending it crashing to the floor. "SPIDER! THERE WAS A HUGE SPIDER ON YOUR HAND!" Rushing away, she'd quickly grab some towels, throwing it over the spilled monstosity that had once been food. "DON'T WORRY, I GOT IT! IT'S ALL UNDER CONTROL!" Cleaning up the mess, she'd turn apologetically to Galand, genuinely guilty that she had to deceive him like this, but it was for his own good! "Ah! I'm so sorry about your food! I promise I'll make you something really good to make up for it! Y-You like tomatoes, yeah?!" Again she moved in a flurry, sweating bullets as she chopped up more tomatoes, pouring the eggs into a pan and making the man a simple omelette, placing a few pieces of the now cooked bacon on the plate as well. Practically shoving the plate toward the man's chest, she bowed her head to him, refusing to meet his gaze. "Please accept this as a token of my apologies!"

XXXIt was a day much like any other. Missions came in, got processed by the busy bodies downstairs, and then it made its way to the Doves. Even the mission itself looks fairly standard in its presentation. A simple Yo-Yo counter. That is, having ones forces retreat with the enemy vanguard in pursuit, and at the last minute having your reinforcements flank the unawares greedy fools from all sides. In this sense, the Doves would be the reinforcements. It all happens in the second house, where the largest audience room presides. A fairly large building, often used as the living quarters for the bulk of the group. Not only are weapons kept here, the positioning leaves wiggle room to reach either of the two other houses. That, and it has a secret compartment made especially to reach the sea below if the need rose. Efficient. Dangerously so. Despite this, the members see it more so as a hangout spot rather than it’s tactical superiority. After all, here, there is the ping-pong table.
With beautiful long blonde hair, expertly fitted glasses, and a finely designed uniform, the group’s attendant stands there at the podium. Her green eyes slowly scrutinizes the expanse, taking note of each member’s presence. A light sigh leaves her lips as she notices Roma curled up in her chair, with her head resting on Astraea’s nap. Despite being the true de facto leader of the group, she lies there with an incredibly exuberant expression plastered on her face. Whatever she’s dreaming of, likely about food, is making her quite the happy woman. With an iron rule against this type of behavior, the attendant grabs hold of a small standard sized metal ruler, and remorselessly launches the thing at Roma. It hits right on target, dead center at the forehead. The force is enough to have the siesta induced shorty pop up in a panic. She looks around, holding up her small dukes prepared to face any foe. Slowly as reality sinks back in does the embarrassment kick in, and her little bottom plops back into her own seat with a hung head. And hung it’d stay, after all she’d rather everyone else not see the royal blush steaming her face.
Galand gives her a bright smiled snicker, patting her on the head from the opposite side of Astraea. “There there. Better luck next time.” His words act as a comfort for her, but she couldn’t show it. Or rather, she simply chooses not to. With a nod, she gives the go-ahead to the attendant. The woman places a hand on her face, worried about the future of her superiors, but moves on all the same. In her hand, held up before the team, is a folder. Through her words it details the data collected on an enemy force that has been steadily growing in power to face the World Government on equal grounds. They, seemingly, have various stock points placed in key locations. Stock points that hold specialized weapons capable of leveling a small battalion of soldiers in a single shot, with seemingly no end to its ammunition. A spider-like contraption of trepidation bound proportions. It’s mere presence on the battlefield being enough to break the resolve of trained ranked officers.
Thus, if even they cannot deal with it, it falls on specialized units such as the Doves. “Your mission is to provide backup to our forces, confine the weapon in a pincer attack, and destroy it. Under no circumstance is this weapon allowed to leave the battlefield. Your priority is it alone. Should soldiers need be sacrificed to meet that end, then so be it. Do I make myself clear?” she asks, slapping a thin, metallic, retractable baton in the palm of her other hand. She looks to each member, desiring their approval of her instructions. Should there be any opposition, they’d better speak up now. Galand sits there with a handcuffed under his chin, lost in thought. His eyes remain shut during the duration of this act, clearly focused. “So this single weapon is dangerous enough to shake the resolve of even vice admiral level officers, and has the power to back up why. But I gotta wonder. Is this the only one? Are we sure they only have one of these things where we are going?” he asks, looking up to the attendant.
The woman glares down at him with sharp eyes, a light smirk growing. She once more slaps the baton into her hand and lets out a faint giggle. An act that has everyone express their growing concerns in their own manners. The leader himself only frowning with eyes staring back.

Astraea Tethys
XXX Lost in her thoughts, Astraea absentmindedly pet Roma's hair as she rested her head in her lap, almost as if she were petting a cat. Though she should have known better than to let her mind wander while their attendant was around, she couldn't help staring into space, yawning and still looking as if she were trying to wake up despite the fact that it was well past the morning hours. It was only the unfortunate targeting of Roma being smack in the forehead with a ruler that drew her out of her sleepy state. "Wah?! I'm sorry!" Jolting up, the young woman raised both of her hands up as if surrendering, face flushing as she realized exactly what had happened. If she had been paying more attention, she would have been able to wake Roma up far more gently than a ruler to the face, and despite the fact that she hadn't been the one asleep she shared her friend's shame. "S-Sorry.." Rubbing the back of her neck, she extended her apology both to the small woman now sitting next to her and the terrifying blonde standing in front of the group.
As Galand spoke, Astraea turned her head to look at him, unable to hold back her own smile upon seeing his. She couldn't help it; seeing him happy made her feel the same. Turning her attention back to the woman giving them their assignment for the day, she'd listen intently to the details she provided, her smile fading to a more serious expression. At the mention of some specialized weapon the enemy had, Raea squirmed a little in her seat, grimacing. Though she understood they were given these assignments because no other group could handle such circumstances, it always made her uncomfortable dealing with the strange machines and contraptions enemies came up with. That was more so the kind of thing Roma would get excited about, but all it did for her was remind her of a time their leader had almost died. Still, as long as they had details about this weapon, maybe it wouldn't be so bad this time. As soon as the thought crossed her mind she cursed quietly under her breath. "Damn, I jinxed it.." Whispering the words she'd sigh and shake her head, her anxiety only further heightened when their attendant mentioned sacrificing others for their mission. She'd never been a fan of that mentality even though she understood the importance of their successes.
As the woman looked around and their eyes met, Astraea looked away from her as if once more she felt guilty, this time for not agreeing wholeheartedly with her conditions. Hearing Galand speak up, she'd turn her head once more to look at him, nodding as he brought up his point that there may be more than one of these weapons on the field. "If there's more than one then it might not be as simple as just using a pincer attack. Is there a specific weakness to this weapon that we know of? A special place we can target?" She'd look back to their attendant for the details of the best way to take these things down, nodding and then looking to their leader. "How do you want to do this?"
