➳ What are their powers if they have any?
- Enhanced Condition – as a being of enhanced conditioning, his physical attributes are all enhanced. He can (on average) lift approximately two to five tons, perhaps more under stress. He can comfortably run at around eighty miles per hour. He has the combined agility and acrobatic prowess of the most accomplished circus aerialists and acrobats, and can sustain rigorous physical activity for several hours before tiring. His bones and muscles are harder and denser, withstanding great impacts, a prime example being hit by a speeding car with only soreness. His aging is slowed, but not suspended. He can heal from broken bones in a couple days, puncture wounds in hours, and has superb resistance to most toxins.
➳ What are their weaknesses?
- Despite being enhanced, he’s not invulnerable.
➳ How do they act?
- Initially a very cruel, selfish, and misguided individual (even as a “characteristically heroic” vigilante), he grew wary of his misery and attempted psychiatric rehabilitation, learning to suppress his inner demons in pursuit of an ordinary life, confiding in his wife Becca to find peace. His nightmares, though they still haunted him, became bearable. As of now, he confides in his family with his second wife, son, and step-daughter.
➳ What's their backstory?
- His past is riddled with misery: his mother was a prostitute who—despite his efforts to care for her and find a parental figure through her—didn’t care much for him, viewing him as a burden. It was only natural that schooling and his peers didn’t help. He did, however, realize a talent for violence as he channeled all his frustrations. It was nothing short of a miracle that he finished his schooling, perhaps with some glimmer of hope that he could be something more.
He enlisted in the army, who would become the first to realize he was no ordinary young man, possessing superhuman physical attributes that became clearer and clearer as they tested him. In each conflict, his ferocity earned him praise, unintentionally conditioning him deeper into his negative tendencies; his cruelty worsened, and his own evils began to haunt him. When he realized his diminishing mental health, he was discharged, and as a soldier without a war, he fell deeper into the dark, deprived of his purpose. What he understood best was violence, and he needed an outlet. When he saw how the heroes were being praised, he saw an opportunity as a masked vigilante. He didn’t care for a fancy name, however, regarding himself as a mere soldier in the war against crime, and he’d earned many nicknames, comparing him to a one-man army.
His brutal tactics, however, earned him a bad reputation among most heroes due to the viewpoint at the time towards killing. It didn’t concern him at first until his peers became more confrontational. He had blood on his hands, and the people he’d saved were hard to count in comparison to the body count he sustained from murdering criminals in cold blood.
Somehow, they’d convinced him to attempt psychiatric rehabilitation (no simple task), and after a patient time, he would adjust with a different prerogative. He emerged a “changed man”, much to the surprise of his peers, having overcome alcohol, tobacco, and sex addiction. He even managed a stable relationship that evolved into marriage with Rebecca Bardot, a waitress who took interest in his story and admired his story of change. While some doubted his resolve, he and Rebecca, or “Becca” as he affectionately addressed her, sustained a happy marriage, taking on a security job for the city’s golden girl as an act of good faith, a career he retains now. He would father a single child, Patrick, in 1997. Becca would unfortunately die of heart disease in 2003, and he’d remarry to Rachel Marnon in 2005. He has a single step-daughter through Rachel, Kristen. He is currently the Head of Security for the Isley Building.
