XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX❝Olivia Canon❞
- ➳ What's their alias?
- Vendetta
➳ How old are they?
- Twenty Seven
➳ Are they male or female?
- Female
➳ Are they human or a super?
- Super
➳ What's their preference?
- Straight
➳ What are their powers if they have any?
- Pain Suppression- Olivia possesses a passive ability that neutralizes her sensitivity to physical pain. Olivia can experience what should be extraordinarily painful injuries that, depending on the location, will not impede her ability to preform in the thick of a situation.
Minor wounds such as cuts, bruises and light burns heal faster than normal, normally taking a few days and no less.
➳ What are their weaknesses?
- When people mention her brother with ill intent, Olivia is quick to lash out at said offender. Though she can quickly regain her composure, she'd prefer to have complete control of her emotions. Her loss of focus even for a second would make her more susceptible to immediate danger.
Her inexperience as a crime boss leads her down the path of foolish mistakes. Sometimes her gut isn't always right and often times she will hesitate when making a decision depending on how humane or inhumane it is.
Olivia can't feel pain but that doesn't mean she can't be harmed by fatal stab wounds, gun shot wounds, extreme falls from a high distance, etc. Any attack whether up close or from a ranged distance inflicted on her heart, brain, or any other vital organs will kill her no matter if she can feel it happen or not. Not being able to feel her wounds or the pain inflicted upon her can also effect her assessment on her own personal being.
Olivia possesses no physical enhancements. She has the ordinary strength and speed of a normal non powered individual.
➳ How do they act?
- Olivia holds onto a lot of reserved memories of her brother, the person who taught her everything she knows. Though she is often calm and apathetic towards peers, underlings, and enemies, the subject of her brother is a touchy one and can easily get under her skin. When he's mentioned in a certain manner, she is quick to lash out and do what's necessary to silence those who talk down on his name. After his death, Olivia didn't try to get close with others and trust them though to those that do earn it, she can be a resourceful ally and will look out for those that fight beside her to a point. She would only die for her brother and now that he has long since passed, she fights for no one but herself.
➳ What's their backstory?
- For as long as she can remember, Olivia had no one in her life but her brother Douglas Canon, no one that mattered, that is. The two were as close as could be as kids, teenagers, and even into young adulthood. Whether it was playing games on the playground or hunting down a common enemy, the Canon twins could not be separated. Their parents both made s**t money and often pointed fingers at their children, they believed they were the reason behind their misfortune and no one could tell them otherwise. The both of them would commonly abuse the two day in and day out, finding any excuse just to lay a hand on them. When they'd start, he'd protect her to the best of his ability, usually giving the worst of the beatings they'd deliver. Even with their shortcomings, their innocence was their best quality rarely ever faltering if they stuck together.
Olivia's ability manifested in conjunction with puberty.
It wasn't as cut and dry as would be finding out that you could now burn down a whole building with flames generated from the palm of your hands but it was a surprise all the same. Living in a rough area usually brought on considerable conflict. On the way home from school, Olivia and her brother experienced the most fear inducing situation of their life yet. A car came speeding down the road with more on it's tail. Your average cops and robbers at play. Douglas was too frightened to move while the frantic display occurred before his eyes, stray bullets straying from the robber's getaway car. The two siblings ducked for the ground. Olivia didn't know at the time but two bullets had struck her along her arm and leg as she tried to get out of the danger at hand. When the cars passed, Douglas pulled his head up and checked his own self before making sure his sister was alright. Almost as if she was pushed to the ground by a bully, Olivia got back up and dusted her self off like it was any old thing. By the time Douglas got a look at her, he sat in awe wondering why she wasn't crying or at least screaming from the pain of two small holes in her limbs that oozed her own crimson blood.
As the two rushed home, Olivia insisted that she felt fine the whole way back. He thought she was being stupid or all else faking in front of him, but he didn't anyone who could take two gun shot wounds, let alone someone at her age. When they got home, they found that they were alone having forgot that their parents were working long shifts that night. Douglas took it upon himself to make up for not protecting his sister during the incident by staying at her side for the rest of the night, patching up her open wounds. She insisted on and on again that she was fine but Douglas never listened. Her 'injuries' were later hidden by long clothes appropriate for the winter weather at the time.
As days to weeks went by, Olivia noticed that her brother was never home. After the incident, she was often by herself walking to and from school and facing the same abuse they both faced all by her lonesome. It pained her to not having Douglas by her side during the day and through the worst of it all but she eventually came to the sad conclusion that maybe he just grew out of hanging out with his big sister, that he was done protecting her. It wasn't a comforting thought but she knew they would have to grow up eventually. He had just chosen then rather than later. Throughout the house late at night, she'd encounter Douglas coming in the house at very, very late hours into the night. Even though he had seemed to distance himself from her, she'd sneak out of bed to interrogate him on where he has been. He would always tell her that he'd let her know when the time was right.
In the meantime, Olivia tackled her curiosity head on. Her unusual incident came and went as just another day but she always wondered why she never felt anything even after direct contact. The abuse didn't hurt anymore, at least not physically, and after awhile, it felt like she was going through the motions never revealing that she could take what they'd dish out and then some. At first she thought it might have been adrenaline kicking in but she went on for days without any pain from her injuries, in fact she went on for weeks without experiencing the slightest bit of physical discomfort. One night when everyone was home and in bed, Olivia stepped downstairs into the kitchen and took a knife to the palm of her hand. She dragged the knife across her palm, drawing blood instantly but she wasn't moved nor phased by the self inflicted wound. She wouldn't have an answer to her predicament until many years later but it was all still very odd and yet exciting. She didn't know who to let in on her little secretive talent except none other than Douglas and when she finally caught him coming home one night, she showed him exactly what she did that knife with the knife on the opposite hand.
He was reluctant to watch his sister carve at her skin but after seeing that she felt little to nothing, his thoughts only raced with opportunity rather than care for her own well being. That night he decided to clue Olivia in on what he had been up to for the last month and a half. He told Olivia that their parents didn't deserve them, especially her. He had been away trying to get them out of their tough situation by making connections and involving himself with people he thought would set him on the path to greatness. While Olivia remained completely oblivious as she worried for the absence of her brother and the curiosity of her odd talent, Douglas was painfully aware of their situation. He had taken it upon himself to help stockpile on some money of his own to get them out of their own home before it was too late.
The day after Douglas revealed a snippet of his whereabouts, he and Olivia walked to school together like old times. He, unfortunately would not walk back with Olivia, leaving her at the mercy of their parents. They 'beat' her for what felt like an eternity that evening, wondering what was going on with Douglas and why he was never around. Her refusal to rat him out only angered them as they put on the pressure, going as far as pushing her down the stairs. That night on two fronts, Olivia and Douglas harbored a darkness inside of them. Douglas over the course of a few months was forced to prove himself time and time again to his cohorts and he was told that one final job would land him in good with the others. He was required to lead a heist. It was nothing major and he was allowed to pick the place. He figured he could knock out two birds with one stone and came to the decision of of robbing his parents blind. That night, Olivia sat in the darkness of her closet wondering why Douglas had abandoned her to undergo the cruel punishment from their parents. All she ever wanted was to be a family. All four of them loving one another rather than be divided by two sides. Olivia realized that what she wished for would never come true and decided that she would make a permanent change in her life. In the dead of night, she used the same knife she picked out to practice on herself with to murder them as they slept. Her anger was too great to keep her urge to end them at bay. With every stab, she relished in the moment, on the verge of laughter even. The group that accompanied Douglas had no idea that he had chosen his parent's home to rob and while they broke into the house and pillaged everything they had from their kitchen and living room, Douglas crept up onto the second floor and stumbled upon Olivia sitting on the bed in the middle of their parent's dead bodies. She was soaked in their blood just as their room was. To Douglas, it was frightening, saddening, and relieving all at the same time. He hated that she had been the one to do it and he hated that he left her alone and that it came to this. He led her to the rest of the gang members that came with and immediately they questioned why he had a girl with him. Their intentions were distasteful at best but he was quick to dismiss them all as he revealed that they were looting his parents house and that Olivia was his sister. Douglas sat on their couch as he comforted Olivia who was utterly shaken by what she had done. The others found her handiwork and were only mildly phased by the gruesome display. They were impressed by the twins. Douglas for having the gall to rob his folks, and Olivia for doing the unspeakable.
The gang that Douglas involved Olivia in believed that with some convincing, she could be a useful asset to attain what they want. He told them she was special in ways they couldn't imagine and it excited them. To stay in good with the rough group and continue to earn his dirty money for his cause, Douglas did just that by manipulating her using the way she views himself to his own advantage. The two became partners in crime, unaware that they were playing for a much greater power at work, flowing through the gang they operated with. They taught her basic street knowledge and combat skills that her innocence never allowed. Her ability allowed her to fight longer, and with time, more ferociously. The places they robbed, the people they hurt and stole from poisoned her mind and all her brother Douglas would tell her is that it was for a good cause. The men, boys, women, and girls that he ran with saw him as a weak link in his young age but as he grew as did his greed, he became more ruthless going to lengths he once thought were unreachable.
Olivia stood by him for years. Douglas had done his fair share of work to earn enough of a fortune to where he could have both himself and his little sister living well off. The two cut ties with the gang they affiliated with for years, Douglas even resorting to killing some of the members he cared less for. The two went into one of the stash houses late at night and with Olivia's resilience and Douglas' newfound cunning nature, the two killed many, several bodies in between them. Their actions over the years darkened their paths and the two took over where their old mates were weak. Olivia only did as she was told, admiring her brother above all to disappoint him. Douglas' quest for power would lead him on a journey to his own demise as he tried to build his own criminal empire.
Years of taking from others and ideals that filled his head morphed Olivia's brother into something sinister. He saw how easy it was to take what he wanted when he wanted and he had no issue with using his sister's talents to his advantage. Douglas grew colder and colder with every day that passed. He was on his way to ruling the underworld of Chicago, or at least a section of it. His actions went nearly unnoticed by law enforcement, supers both heroes and villains alike, and any opposition that wanted to stand in his way. He recruited kids off the streets just as those from is past had done for him and Olivia, anyone willing to make some fast cash while also fighting for a cause that was not their own. Blinded by the respect for her brother, Olivia was dear to him but not in the way she thought. He had trained her to be his own warrior and the best underling he had while making it seem like they were equals, partners in the grand scheme of things. She learned to get handy with an assortment of guns, swords, and some experimental weapons that Douglas was able to get his hands on. She used the arsenal he had built to take out the enemies Douglas would make over the course of his tenure sitting at what felt like the top.
Olivia enjoyed every bit of it, dedicating herself to what Douglas wanted and aided in helping him achieve his dreams. She felt nothing literally and figuratively as she slayed people just as evil and heinous alongside her brother. The two and their growing criminal organization pissed off the wrong people eventually and in a heated battle that spanned over a few city blocks ranging from enemies between the police and neighboring heroes, Douglas was killed in the heat of the action. With fires, bullets, and displays of raw power surrounding them, Douglas made sure that his last words were meaningful to his sister. He wanted her to have it all, to be even more successful than he was and with her power, he knew she could achieve something great.
The change in leadership was hardly seamless. Olivia wasn't as persuasive, nor was she was smart as Douglas was, at least in the process of managing a criminal organization. It was her savage and apathetic attitude that kept them in line. Whereas Douglas ran things carefully and precise, knowing everything he did had a purpose, Olivia's actions at he helm were irregular in comparison. She went bigger and recklessly jumped at what she wanted to achieve. It was harder to win over the same respect Douglas had built over the years. He was charismatic, full of life and yet willing to take one just as easy. A natural leader, and she was only a fraction of that. She struggles with loyalty among her crew and time and time again she is constantly having to prove herself that she has what it takes to carry on Douglas' mission.
➳ Anything else we need to know?
- Her personal arsenal includes a custom machete, specific firearms depending on the situation ranging from small to medium sized rifles. Sometimes anything she can get her hands on can be a weapon. She'll always look to upgrade and or adapt if it's necessary in her situation. She is proficient in hand to hand combat and doesn't mind find fighting dirty.
She prefers to keep her organization on the down low, expanding in secret rather catching the attention of top notch heroes. Her power can be as helpful as she allow it to be but there's no overpowering someone with super strength.
She typically covers her face with grease paint in a war paint like fashion and a hood that darkens her face.
She has a tattoo on her right arm that goes all the way up to her neck.
