➳ What are their powers if they have any?
- Lava Manipulation: Sasha can super heat any rocks, earth and minerals, that she touches into a liquid state and then freely control the lava created. She must touch the rocks to the actually begin the process and cannot simply create lava out of the air. Her abilities only work on rock and so she is unable to harm someone by touching them directly. She is able to keep it molten or hold in in place and let it set. Melting rocks that she has previously hardened is quicker however she still needs to tough the rock in order to make it happen. Through a process she has deemed 'Churning' she is able to create a flow of rocks and create a nearly endless supply of lava.
Heat resistant: She has extremely high heat resistance, to the point where she could easily bask in a pot of molten steel and not even break a sweat.
➳ What are their weaknesses?
- Under her lava shield and extremely high heat resistance she is just a normal everyday girl. She can be killed by anything that would kill a normal human provided it can get past her barrier.
Large bodies of water or extreme cold weather can also throw her off, it won’t kill her out right, over exposure would, but it would affect how she can control her powers.
It goes without saying that she cannot use her power if she doesn’t have access to rocks to melt in the first place.
Her power is dependent on control and her imagination, while she sometimes creates extremely elaborate looking objects, if her concentration is broken she would be unable to form and shape her lava correctly.
➳ How do they act?
- Sasha is a fiercely intelligent woman who became disillusioned with society and acts according to her own logic. She is extremely protective over the things she deems as hers, be that people, possessions or ideals. She is not evil, but will make the hard decisions even if they sacrifice the few for the many. She regards those that slight her with ambivalence that grows into pity and disgust, this isn't to say she doesn't give second chances; it's just to say that they are hard earned and easily lost.
➳ What's their backstory?
- Sasha was the second youngest child of a single mother, living and working in Chicago. She was raised more by her brother who was only a few years older than her, her sister, the youngest, had been sent to live with her father almost as soon as she was born which sadly wasn't an option for Sasha or her older brother. They were poor, abysmally so, but they were close and they got by. Sasha wore hand me downs until she was seven and for the longest time the other kids in her neighbourhood thought she was a boy. It probably eased their egos too; not knowing that the toughest kid on the block was also into dolls really did a number on the psyche.
Sasha grew up watching the news, there were numerous reasons for that, and her brother liked it being the only one that really mattered. From that she learned the names of the heroes and villains that filled the city, but even as a child she felt the whole thing was a little silly. There was just something off about people who dressed up in spandex and used their powers to fight each other, while the normal people just got swept along for the ride. She met a hero once, before her powers developed, he was opening a bridge near where she lived and her and her brother went to see, he looked bored: all that attention for someone who loathed it. Sasha never really forgot that. Villains weren't much better, in her eyes, it took a certain kind of idiot to have their pelvis shattered by a living god and for them to then attempt a near identical crime the moment they are released from the hospital, or prison or whatever building with a revolving door they ended up putting the terminally moronic. Then there were vigilantes, one incident springs to mind when thinking about them. It was a day like any other, she had been reading in the library until late and was walking home, when a vigilante sprung out of the dark to brutalise what could have been a lost tourist or serial rapist, it was hard to tell since he never got to open his mouth before being tackled into the alleyway. That wasn't out of the ordinary, vigilantes were a dime a dozen.
She was almost fifteen when her powers developed. Her school had taken her to the beach, it had been a good day, right up until the part where she had pulled the short straw and been elected to be buried and then someone had accidentally put a bucket over her head. She spent an hour or so struggling alone, the panic slowly building when she smelt the burning, which only made things worse. As she screamed, the bucket caught fire and she dropping into the now molten sand. She had to swim to the surface, every movement causing the creation of more boiling hot sand. Luckily with help from the sea and by frantically thrashing she was able to free herself completely. She spent the next few hours experimenting with what she could do and by the time morning rolled around, she could stand on her feet and even walk around. When she showed her power to her teacher, she called the police, who then sent an officer to collect Sasha. She was put in a cell and treated like a prisoner; she was not allowed to see her family or even read her rights. Her feet were wrapped in carrier bags and arms tied behind her back, while officers moved her every couple of hours. It seems that they had thought they had caught some notorious serial killer, a real sicko who burned their victims alive from the head down. They were dubbing Candleman. As it should have been obvious to anyone from the start, she was neither old enough nor big enough to commit half of those crimes and was released a day or so later. She learned a very valuable lesson that day: People are s**t.
She left home shortly after finishing school, her incident with the teacher had made thing in the classroom unbearable and so she had started studying alone. The day she graduated she left home, things had become tense everywhere between her powers and their mother never really getting a better job, leaving was the best for everyone. Perhaps she was wrong, but it was what she wanted and nobody could stop her when she set her mind on something. She drifted down the length of America, seeing the world for the first time; from there she sailed west and then travelled north, searching for something, seeing everything. As she travelled she saw heroes and villains of all kinds, people oppressed and fighting back against tyranny. She passed through the domain of a mad god ruling the masses with iron fist, speaking to the people before feeling to dark lands, where the powered had been purged. Finally she sought places where no human had any right going, in hospitable wastelands void of humanities influence. The further she went the closer she came to the truth. Her home was broken, hollow facsimiles of people playing heroes and villains while people suffer underfoot. Her journeying was over; it was time to go back. The day she landed she came with an idea of what she wanted and a plan to make it happen. She took the name of a fake god and created a faux religion, her plan was simple, spread the word and create an alternative narrative.
