Hello everyone!!

This is a recruitment, of sorts, for an upcoming event involving contests. The event will take place in a nondescript location, accessible by all trains, but not located in any particular region.

The event's purpose is to test the system more, as well as two new features -- the excitement portion of contests, and an NPC system for coordinators to use as a contest variation of the NPC battles battlers can use to gain exp. It will hopefully also provide an opportunity for characters to meet and interact, and for plots to form!

The excitement portion of contests is an idea that may be permanently added if it can be worked into the system, and is meant to add an extra layer of strategy to contests, and give some more purpose to some of the moves and their descriptions. You do not have to use it if you participate in the event, but we appreciate if you do so we can get feedback, and work it out to it's best potential, and test it properly.

The NPC system is part of the options you will have upon having your character participate. You may either test the NPC system we will be putting into place, or you can compete against your fellow RPers. The former gives us feedback, however it can be complicated to do on your own, and you will need to get the contest reviewed to officially apply the exp earned. RPing with another player is a good way to settle into the contest system, and work through it step by step. More information on how this will work will be released with the event, but if you have any feedback or ideas, please let us know.

Speaking of! Please provide any feedback you have here, whether it be on the new contest layout, the system itself, or any aspects, or new implementations, we have. Please feel free to ask questions, too!
Additionally, if you're interested, please mention that as well. The event will likely be starting in about a week, so getting an idea of how many characters will likely be participating will also help figure out how long it should be expected to run for!

Accessories aren't balanced to give each contest type a fair chance. Some contests types get more items that benefit them than others. Items Aren't organized in a way to gives us a clear cut answer to how many we can use at a time, at best we use common sense. No glasses with a Monical~

How many Seals can we set to a single Pokeball?

I assume the fail and success chance of a Combo move is based on a D10 roll? Also wouldn't a Pokemon with say 4 ribbons( 70% chance ) have an unfair advantage over a Pokemon with just 3 ribbons( 30% chance ). It would seem to me there would need to be a restriction on more experienced Pokemon entering lower ranked contests, especially if this is a PVP contest?

"Determining who goes first: The Pokemon with the highest appeal from the previous round will go first (this includes the Appeal round to determine the first round of the Performance section). If two Pokemon are tied, a dice will be cast to determine who goes first (evens, the person casting the die, odds, the other person)." How do we figure out how casts the dice though?

"[Note: We want to keep objectivity as out of this as possible, but please use some practicality. If your pokemon is smashing up the stage in a Beauty or Cute contest, they may lose points (please try and avoid smashing up the stage in general, since... people likely would not appreciate that, but if it's necessary for performance, we understand) ]" Context please?

Whats the max appeal a Pokemon can earn from Grooming, Puffins, Seals, ext?

What regions do contests exist in?

Can you clarify on who "earns" the ribbon, you or the Pokemon? In some places, you switch between the two and it's difficult to understand IMO.
For example, in the combos info, you even indicate the combo chance is based on how many ribbons the Pokemon has earned, not its trainer.
"This is based on the number of ribbons the Pokemon has, not the trainer! "
But then when speaking on the Rewarded TM's you indicate the number of Ribbons the Trainer has earned. This can be confusing IMO because now, me personally, IDK if I need each and every Pokemon to earn a ribbon or just my trainer, but no real distinction if given between the two that I can tell. This also brings up issues with Obidance, is it based on a trainer or Pokemon ribbons?

For Pokemon competing in repeat contests, with the reduces EXP gain, how much of a reduction are we to expect?

Ill hold off on NPC related questions or now, but i do have a few.

For the unbalance... I don't really know what to say? I'm aware of that, yes, but since everyone has the same stuff to work with, it shouldn't really result in any actual unbalance, other than maybe some types being a little more challenging due to less accessories being available to pile on, which isn't really a bad thing imo. It allows more testing to be seen, to see how much accessories may be abused/how much they contribute, and how relying on strategy works.

For the accessories, it actually says that : ) You can't use too many of the same category (same example is mentioned), and yeah, you should be using common sense with them. It was left open to allow for combinations, but if people can't use common sense to figure it out, or it gets abused, a more simplistic rule to streamline it will be developed (ie, only one of each category)

One~ I thought that was kinda straight forward, but I'll go edit to clarify, just to be sure :3

It's based on a percentage, so either D10, or D20, or RNG10, or whatever. It's a percent, not a specific instruction of which method you should use to get that percent, so long as you're making it clear cut and easily converted to percentages : )
I don't know how that's unfair :0 The 4 ribbon pokemon has more experience (more successful experience) than the one with 3. That's an earned advantage, not an unfair one.
Also, the rules for the contest hasn't been mentioned? So I'm not sure what you're referring to :0 But as mentioned, you can practice with other people, but it's not a contest in that it's a competition, so much as it's a gathering to test the system, and get more experience, both in contests, and for the pokemon.

Discuss it? Or whoever's turn lands on needing to figure out who goes first... I didn't think this really needed to be clarified, I wanted to just leave it up to the RPers, since the odds are the same either way.

I'm not sure what the context is needed, sorry. Could you explain? I thought it was fairly self explanatory....

I don't remember what I calculated it to be, especially since things are changing as the system updates, and, hopefully, items will continue to be added and such.

Sinnoh and Hoenn, as it says on the contest page

Both. A pokemon earns a ribbon. A pokemon belongs to a trainer, so the trainer, which also worked for the ribbon, has also earned that ribbon :0 So the circumstances adjust for each depending. Because a pokemon's capabilities is based on a pokemon's experience, not just transferred through a trainer's, their ability to successfully perform a combo is based on their own past success. So that Trainers don't just pile up the TMs, however, that reward is based on how many TMs the trainer has-- essentially, they've already been reworded for showing their ability to train a pokemon to that level, just like in a gym.

It says in the rewards what the reduced exp is.
