                How do they act?
A fearless, confident, and assertive female, Eva is notoriously daring, with a reputation for smiling in the face of danger. She considers herself a do-gooder who uses the media to sort out justice—a modern muckraker. Her willingness to put herself in potentially (or undeniably) dangerous situations stems from her desire to see justice done, and she stubbornly insists she play a part in the improvement of both her city and the nation. When not dead-focused on her own mission, however, she’s prone to joking and sarcasm.

                What's their backstory?
Born in Springfield, IL as Eva Velitchkov, the young woman was eager to leave her small-town life for that of the big city to pursue a more promising career in journalism. Her earliest work was as a model, but it wasn’t her calling, and she quickly left that life behind. At some point, she changed her legal name to her mother’s maiden name of “Allen”, due to the troubles that came with entering the news world with her easily-mispronounced Bulgarian surname. She was a lackey at The Chicago Herald for a time, but filled in for her injured boss during a live report of an SIA conflict against a super in Jackson Park in 2004. The role suited her well, and the CHB was quite comfortable with the reporter’s looks and confidence on-screen. Her own cameraman helped tremendously as she began to seek out coverage in the more dangerous situations, which quickly brought about an increase in her popularity. Her career only improved from there, and she quickly became one of the most popular journalists in America.

She won the Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting in 2007 for her coverage on the Chicago Police Department’s clandestine spying program on communities with potential superhuman populations, resulting in congressional involvement over the privacy of supers. As a result, she’s famously an advocate for the privacy of superhumans who wish to keep their powers a secret in order to lead normal lives.

In 2011, the Staff of The Chicago Herald, under her guidance, received the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting when they covered a security breach at Quatermain Penitentiary, during which a mind-reading super infiltrated the prison and attempted a mass breakout. It was her own cleverness that exposed the super-criminal and ultimately prevented the breakout from succeeding.
