Carmine's childlike person sat with dignity, but also indifference for the man in front of her. True he was Baris, and thus trusted amongst all other ambassadors, but he sometimes forgot who he truly was. They were children to the queen, that was all. Sometimes children had to be straightened out, something she taught her own in time- but such things could not be shown to outsiders. Instead she silently regarded the man before her as she sat perched, the throne still seeming to fit the little girl just fine.
She listened intently though her eyes seemed to alight with rage as a bit of information was brought to her attention. Her hand tightened against the throne's chair and she did not choose to hide it from either her slave or the man before her. The damned Jiang, those stupid little puppets. Wishing for her daughter were they? What right did they have to even think of Lyrica! Infuriation swelled within her, almost making everything else a nagging ringing in her ears, though she kept her fury in long enough to listen and comprehend everything that was being said.
"The devious parasite will receive the scraps he deserves. Honestly," she said, running a finger down Cassandra's shoulder, pointing her statement to the slave, "you would think he ran this country. You think he could make demands of me..." Her attention turned back towards Abious before she rolled her eyes. "Can you not go in my stead, annoying friend? I know how much you love the Upyr and their amazing statues. All of their... so many... statues."
She let her body fall back into the seat, her small hands falling onto her thighs. Making the trip to Khram was annoying at best, and downright- well- annoying at worst. It was true she amplified the fanatics they are now, but the duty she had to them now was time consuming. Always on missions to their statues and their monuments and never enough time alone in her castle with her children and slaves. To downright deny them, however, would turn them into the fanatics they were, and she learned long ago to never give power to those of lesser birth just to strip it away. It did not bode well with the ruling class if one did.
The sound of the piano drifted downward throughout the room, and she closed her eyes for a moment as she listened to the report. Cells lost because of humans? Wait, that didn't sound right. Opening her violet orbs, she pointed them towards Abious with a silent question on her face. The humans were advanced yes, evolving at an accelerated rate that Carmine had not truly given mind to, but to find out a number of their cells? She didn't think the president was one for acts of war at this time, but if it was war she wished for Carmine would oblige.
Her face tilted slightly as the Barian said his peace. "Would you consider it, Cassandra? You may speak whenever you like among the castle. So speak." Without another word, but waiting until after the slave would speak, Carmine's small body disappeared from the throne chair in a flash of a moment. She had jumped slightly, her gloved hand wrapped around the back of Abious' neck before using her weight and her strength to pull the man to his knees so that he was shorter than she. Carmine's hand was still at the back of the man's neck, her face bent so that it was at his ear before she whispered, "I didn't realize I asked a child like you to have an opinion on what I do with my children." Her nails bit into the man even through her gloves as she continued. "You think it best to give my daughter to the disgusting Jiang, do you. Perhaps you would also like to be given to them with her. You would make a fine slave for them, wouldn't you dear Abi..."
Without releasing the man she looked back to Cassandra. "Couldn't you see him as an amazing slave? Maybe I should show him the benefit of being broken by me, how about that, girl." It wasn't a question and the queen turned back to the man. "Do not forget your place, child. Learn some respect in my home or the next time your head will be given to your kin."
Straightening though not taking a step back, Carmine pondered for a moment before she placed a finger to her cheek. "What would you do about what this man has just said, Cassandra? Would you pull out the rest of our cells or would you continue to operate outside of the kingdom? Tell me your honest thoughts on everything he has just said, would you."
