- Elliot is a stoic, stern, and pragmatic individual. He isn’t always this way, however, easing up or at least becoming more approachable around fellow agents, polite individuals, or public servants. Otherwise, he’s not too comely with people who break the law (especially convicted murderers), as his own traumatic incident weighs heavily on him.
➳ What's their backstory?
- As a young man, Elliot quickly learned the harsh realities of the city when his father defected from the American Mafia and was gunned down (his mother included, as just “collateral damage”) right inside his home. He was only eight at the time of the incident, and didn’t go unharmed, being rendered comatose for two years under the care of his uncle, catatonic for a few months, and then went on recovering for another year, remembering how to walk, recognizing his friends from the past, coming to terms with the incident, etcetera. It was a slow but successful recovery, and he went on to complete his education.
When he emerged from high school, it weighed heavily on him that the killer was ultimately never found, and the connections to the American Mafia never confirmed. Elliot would become a detective for the Chicago Police Department’s Bureau of Detectives, before joining the Superhuman Intelligence Agency in 2002, and has remained there ever since. All the while, he’s managed to hide years of vigilante crime-fighting prior.
