It was amusingly cramped in the booth; the plush animals made it entertaining, though. All the while, she hoped she didn’t get a bad angle during the photos, though they all looked excellent, safely being placed in her bag for later scrapbooking. Of course, the mention of time made her check her phone to be sure. It had been four hours since they left. Her legs were getting a little sore, so getting a meal and sitting down definitely seemed appropriate. “Let’s,” she replied, letting him lead the way. Mexican Food was their way to go; she was curious what was on the menu. Usually, she went out and ate Vietnamese or Mongolian with her friends and family.

As they walked, she checked her phone to text a few people back with her free hand (since the other was holding her plush), but didn’t get too immersed. It would have been impolite not to pay him her attention on their date. He was noticeably nervous asking her, but he had grown more relaxed in the four hours they spent trying all the rides and winning their prizes. He hadn’t made any advances, though, at least nothing too apparently romantic, which was a first. Usually—at least from her experience—most guys would have at least offered their arm or tried to get to a comfortable point of touching by now. Without the rides or the fair distracting her, she began to establish her own conclusions about the date so far. He was a very sweet guy, and a gentleman too, but she wasn’t feeling a romantic spark, at least not yet. It didn’t mean she wasn’t enjoying their date, though, not at all.

Charlie carried the plush friends to the car and sat them in the back seat. Hopefully dinner would go smoothly. This part was totally his plan. He had planned ahead with the restaurant and hoped they wouldn't go too overboard. ”Going to warn you Maria the lady who owns it practically calls me a nephew and she a hugger. You likely get one before I do.” Charlie said as the entered the car and headed to the restaurant. It was a well kept hole-in-the-wall kind of place. The inside had a look like a mom had decorated her house. A middle-aged slightly larger Hispanic woman peered from the kitchen when the bells on the door rung. Margot was in the lead as Charlie opened the restaurant door her so the lady came out to greet them all friendly. “Hola, muchacho mio! Oh you must be Charlie’s friend!” She said with accented English greeting Charlie and Margot. She did in fact hug Margot first then Charlie who got more of a bear hug. “Here, here take a seat!” She said leading them to a booth that was private. “Miel, tenemos los pájaros del amor. ¡Sabes qué hacer!” She shouted to the kitchen as she went to get menus and waters for them. This made Charlie chuckle awkwardly hoping Margot didn't catch that. He had hoped they be more subtle. “Want try one or our Mexican sodas? Just got some in!” She asked. Charlie was totally down for some special soda. He hoped margot would be too.

                                                  “Hello, my boy!”
“Honey we have the love birds. You know what to do!”

When the hug came, it seemed very welcomed; she was expecting it, so it didn’t seem awkward at all. While her date did laugh awkwardly after something spoken in Spanish, she only understood something about love, which wasn’t enough to suspect she was referring to the two as love birds. At the time, she was already hungry at the sheer scent of the food inside, which was only heightened by the atmosphere. It was very welcoming, and she was eager to enjoy Mexican cuisine this time around.

Her response came a little hesitantly, but it was still agreement. “Sure!” Usually she drank simple juices, sometimes tea. Her mother convinced her years ago that soda wouldn’t be very good for her health, and it stuck, but the day seemed full of exceptions. Her own taste of funnel cake was sparingly, so she could afford one little sin in her diet, though she likely wouldn’t be going for any refills. It was then she realized something, turning his direction to speak her mind. “If it’s all the same, I’ll pay for my half,” she said, since he already got the tickets, and it was only fair she contribute. After all, she had a job; there was no need to have him burn a whole in his wallet for her sake. It really wasn’t a bother; she still had her wallet in her bag.

Charlie agreed to whatever soda Margot picked per his own plan. The drink came with two straws poking out of the bigger bottle. Plenty of soda for the both of them. It it haven't already been obvious the owners were helping out with Charlie's romantic attempts it would be now. Charlie was only half regretting letting the owners know he would be bring a date here if it lasted to dinner time. He was likely blushing by the time she asked to pay for herself. "Oh if your sure, I'll at least cover the drinks then. He said still blushing a bit over the drink being an obvious romantic gesture. They ordered the food with Charlie going for the tamales and tacos meal. While they waited for the food Charlie hoped to make non awkward conversation. “I didn't wanna mention near your dad and sound creepy, but I like the dress it looks good on you.” He said blushing and fidgeting with a tortilla chip from the basket they came before the meal. Well there goes not being weird.

Jarritos was the brand of the soda, a particularly popular brand in Mexico, with Piña (or simply pineapple) as the flavor of choice. When their drink came, it was obvious what the gesture was, and she was starting to catch on that he may have tipped the people at the restaurant off on their date from earlier on, giving him a suspecting—but not unapproving—gaze; her eyebrow raised and head tilted rightward. However, that expression changed when it came time to order food, which took a little longer, because she needed to inquire on what some of the options actually were. Her appetizer of choice was caldo de camarón, while the main course was vegetable fajitas. Her choices were noticeably healthy compared to most on the menu; she took her nutrition seriously.

When the food came, she was very comfortable tasting and enjoying each bite. Her eating was very ladylike, too, measured bites while politely keeping her mouth closed as she consumed each mouthful. For the most part, she was focused on her food; she would drink when she felt thirsty enough. While she did plan on speaking up sooner or later, he decided to speak first, despite being apparently nervous, not to mention how flushed his cheeks were with the blush. He commented on her dress, though the laughed at the mention of her father. Even her father had to agree it looked nice; it was a $299 striped dress from Marco de Vincenzo. “I’m glad you think so, thank you! And he’s not that bad. I don’t think he would chew you out just for complimenting my dress,” she replied, taking a bite out of her appetizer’s tender shrimp. It was spicy, she noticed that immediately, and after a few spoonfuls, she decided to lean her head forward to place her lips on the straw and draw out the pineapple soda with careful sips. It wasn’t for long, though; perhaps three seconds maximum. While it definitely could have been romantic to share a single container of soda, spicy foods made for little time to truly appreciate a prolonged period of drinking, and Mexican cuisine did enjoy spices.

It was a good thing she planned on being more talkative, perhaps to ease his mind with her more relaxed way of speaking. “I’m liking this place so far. I’ll admit, I haven’t eaten Mexican cuisine more than twice until now. I’m guessing you’ve been here a couple times?” As he answered, she finished her appetizer and moved on to the actual main dish, nodding approvingly at the flavor of the vegetable fajitas.

Charlie smirked when she mentioned her dad wasnt as intimidating. "He does seem pretty cool, I'm quite use to the whole family structure in my own neighborhood. Like if my dad had awnsered the door he would have likely be more intimidating." Charlie joked at he ate as well. While not as graceful in the eating, he was still polite. She had a plan about eating, certain parts first. He was one to mix sides in a bite. "Oh you totally need to try this sauce. They make it here though the spice is brought down from the ones the give my dad, i think you will like it." He said using the spoon he hadn't used to scoop some loose sauce. He offered the spoon sauce first so she could try it even if her hands where full. He hoped to be a bit more suave this date but he hopefully was doing good enough to prehaps get a second date later on. Besides wern't the first dates more for hey your not a serial killer right? Good. Though they still had a while before they had to end the date.

He offered the sauce, and her curiosity urged her to go for it. “Sure!” she replied, applying it to her fajitas and having a taste for herself. “Wow, this is—uhh,” she coughed, “hot, very hot.” Her face grew a little red, quickly moving for their beverage and taking a prolonged drink. It was sweet, but the spice was more than she was used to, so she became a little overwhelmed. When the drink cooled her down enough, she grasped the napkin and wiped her face. It just so happened that her tolerance wasn’t as high as his with spice. While it didn’t taste bad, and she rather enjoyed it initially, it wasn’t quite meant for her yet. Phewf. Sorry about that.” She was a little embarrassed to have responded so dramatically.

Charlie could tell the spice was a bit much as he pushed the soda closer, soda was a good spice killer if you didnt mine the short burst of spicier flavor then it would go away. He definitely had a look of concern for her and remorse for making her try it. "No its ok, I should have warned you better. I'm very use to spice." Charlie said. To him the sauce was spicy but not to his limit. Though he should have known he would have quite the tolerance, he was raised with spicy food. "They have fried ice cream that great as a finisher and can kill the spice. It heathier than it sounds, they use low fat ice cream as well and it only fried for a few seconds. They are designed for two." Charlie asked trying to be helpful but also mindful of her food choices. She did prefer to eat healthy and Charlie could respect that. The name fried ice cream could be misleading.

Margot laughed at the sight of his concerned expression and her own reaction. Her little mishap may have discomforted him, so she hoped to ease the tension with her signature smile. It really wasn’t that bad, and she didn’t mind laughing at herself over being so intolerant. “Note to self: build a tolerance, or I’ll be the laughing stock at any place that has spicy enough food. The fried ice cream sounds cool, let’s do it!” She had heard of fried ice cream before, though she hadn’t ever tried it. Eating healthy was always great, but ice cream was one of her guilty pleasures. She knew of no one that disliked ice cream, and she loved it, mostly vanilla, sometimes the cookies n’ cream. The very mention of ice cream established her craving.
