LORIN
• a young boy who is curious about new people and eager to please and make friends - making others happy is his top priority
• somewhat anxious regarding certain family matters from his father's parents and always strives to make a good impression because of it
• loves being in nature, despite some trepidation about the woods as of late
• budding interest in superheroes, Star Wars, video games, possibly anime too, who knows??
• his imagination is not very expansive (as it tends to duplicate what he has seen) and his drawing is not good in the least, but he is a willing and active participant to both activities, stubbornly keeping at drawing with hopes of success someday
• his nature powers are slow growing: for now, he can get a general feeling of what plants are thinking or feeling rather than any specific thoughts, but this will grow and develop in time; he will also eventually gain plant-growing abilities
• has a developing interest in music, fostered by his musical-loving mother and his musically-inclined father
• wants to be considered reliable by friends and family both
CLAIRE
• kind-hearted and often overly motherly to many of her acquaintances, she tends to fret over those she and lorin are close to
• a good listener who tries to be fairly even-keeled, who will let you know if you may be in the wrong (although as gently as possible)
• has had a heaping of family troubles, from her father's passing in 2011 to her two miscarriages to her constant battles with her mother-in-law
• a former paralegal who is now a stay-at-home mother for the time being; while she loves having time to read and take care of Lorin, she finds her hours incredibly open-ended
• getting into gardening at her mother's insistence, and finds it quite soothing
AARON
• working under his father currently, and eventually will take over his family's produce-shipping business upon his retirement
• has a strained relationship with his past and his parents due to rich boy upbringing and always being told what to do/not straying from the crowd; this has changed recently and he is finally learning to stand up for himself and others
• loud, fun-loving, and goofy, who loves to make people laugh and make sure everyone is included
• a giant meme lord
• a strong lover of music who had voice lessons growing up and is currently teaching himself guitar
IVY
• former member of the Gaia Peace Corps who has travelled extensively, she is currently retired and enjoying the hell out of her golden years
• she has lived in Gambino since the 1960s, going to college in Barton before she joined the Peace Corps
• a natural entertainer who loves to share stories and host parties, and always pushes people to be their best (but is known to push too hard sometimes); she shoulders her grief about her husband's passing for the benefit of her daughter
• gardens as a hobby but she has won awards for her gardening work and has spent many years with the Gambino Botanical Society; although she is not an active member anymore, she still drops by quite often
• has a pet borzoi named Misha who accompanies her most everywhere
CADI
• Claire's sister-by-marriage who moved to Gambino in the past two years to finish her undergrad degree in cultural anthropology at Gambino University
• works part-time at a campus coffee shop in the library called As You Like It
• has a plethora of geeky interests: video games, reading, watching movies, television, currently a poorlyrecovering weeaboo
• struggles with clinical anxiety and depression and her immediate family is at odds when it comes to dealing with it; she does not take the best care of herself but tries to hide it
• easy-going and affable, quick to laugh, although incredibly self-deprecating; is usually very good at reading moods and gauging responses
• likes when she can be relied upon and does well with children, who seem to like her because she is less adult than the adults in their lives

STEVEN is Claire's dad and Ivy's husband. He is a former army medic who became the stay-at-home dad while Ivy worked abroad. A big softie who loved nature and birding, and cried at the end of animal movies. He passed away in 2011 after a fall from the roof installing rain gutters, and his family still misses him dearly.
MATT is Claire's older brother, who lives in Durem with his wife and children. He works as a broker on the Gaia Exchange and has made a pretty nice living for himself. Pretty lowkey, enjoys watching sports on his days off, gets more into his son's soccer games than his wife does. He and Claire get along alright but are not super close.
ANAIS works at a Durem branch of the Gaia National Bank, moving from her teller position to a supervisor over the years, and she often acts as the socialite of the two; loud, busy, and a little invasive (even if her intentions are good). She is Cadi's older sister.
BRENDAN and DINAH are their two children, ages eight and five, both of whom are a little spoiled. Brendan is into video games and soccer while Dinah loves dance and Frozen.
RUTH and CLARENCE are Aaron's parents, both rich and used to their lifestyle. They tend to like their own ilk and look down at others, although Ruth is more sneering about this. Clarence runs Holmes Produce, a produce-shipping company that acts as a middle man between local farms and businesses, with distribution all over Gaia.
