➳ What are their powers if they have any?
- Seismokinesis – the ability to manipulate periodic and random vibrations.
His primary use if to induce violent tremors, just as his predecessor before him was known for, but he may also utilize it for Seismokinetic Combat, where he can simulate enhanced physical attributes by infusing seismic energy with his attacks, such as the basic kick or perhaps a ground slam. If necessary, he can negate vibrations as well, which he can use for things such as stopping his own tremors. He admits it’s easier to cause them than negate them, however.
➳ What are their weaknesses?
- Namazu’s power takes large amounts of energy and concentration. It can be dangerous to himself if he exceeds his own limitations, capable of bruising and internal bleeding if he persists. Likewise, any distinct changes in his emotions can result in catastrophic events, such as his rage causing tremors, something he must be mindful of. Lastly, though he hates to admit it, he’s only mortal.
➳ How do they act?
- Matsuo is prideful and unrelenting, a ruthless man with a notable god complex. He believes himself a superior being to average humans due to his powers, and thus views himself as a god. While he doesn’t view himself as the Namazu of Japanese mythology, he does think himself godlike given the advent of his powers. He doesn’t take kindly to insults, swift to anger, albeit dismissive of those he views as weak or insignificant. As Namazu, he views himself above good and evil, though he does considers his actions justified.
➳ What's their backstory?
- Namazu (born Matsuo Serizawa) was the son of a simple fisherman. As the story goes, he first realized his power when his father (whom was quite old at the time) drew his last breath; a young Matsuo would go on to cause violent tremors occurring through a course of three days, the superstitious people of his village believing him to be some sort of divine being. He was believed to be benevolent Namazu, a god whom would rescue the poor. It was reinforced by how Matsuo intimidated the businessmen who originally intended to buy off the property that was damaged, forcing them to surrender their wealth to him. Of course, as Namazu, he was wise enough not to spread his name too heavily, and became something of an urban legend in Japan as one the few superhumans there at the time. His cult grew, consisting of those who recognized his divinity or were fearful enough to kneel. He has already subjugated various groups, such as the Yakuza, whose then-leader he personally murdered for defying his command.
