He rubbed his chin pondering these possibilities before nodding. "I will agree so long as before we begin you allow me to see into your mind to confirm this isn't a trick." Surtr said curiously looking to her now to see if she would accept his request. "I apologize for my suspicious nature but as king I must act in what is best for my people." Surtr said looking to her. It was fact he lost the luxury of trust when he became king. He had to act on proof and fact now, and the facts told him nothing about this spell. By her allowing him to momentarily read her mind to determine her true intentions behind this spell it would pour the foundation for their trust as well as allow them to proceed.

Surtr had taken the first leap of faith by coming here alone and now it appeared he requested one from Azme. Though the two situations could hardly be considered comparable, Surtr was surrounded by arguably the 3 most powerful beings in this kingdom and even if he attempted to harm Azme it would be unlikely he would succeed or make it out of this place in one piece.
