Being a tracker, it was Hatsuma's job to follow up on any leads she may have come across for potential enemies to the sand village. This bridge was one such lead, apparently someone who could pose a major threat was supposed to be crossing it this very day. She would analyze the individual for herself and see what kind dangers the one in question may pose. She hopped to the bridge's railing and crouched upon it laying in wait for whoever may arrive.

The details of the tip were pretty vague no more than a sentence stating: 'Come to the northern border's bridge if you want to stop disaster.'. It was dated to today's date as well even though it was delivered a a week ago a weak way to hide the date to be here but still moderately effective.
