A dull, throbbing ache permeated the blackness that was Aria's slumber. Having never experienced a pain quite like it, she let out a small whine, shifting to move a hand to her head. However, when she went to move, something stopped her. An unfamiliar weight. Unfamiliar in that, she wasn't waking up covered in pups, and Raider never crawled into bed with her.

No this was something else entirely. Between the ache of her head, and the strangeness of it all, the young woman struggled to try to recall the events of the night prior. She had been bored, gone for a walk... where had she gone to?

Ugh that ache in her head was killing her. She wasn't entirely certain how her programming came to be, but whomever thought it was a good idea for bots to feel pain could clearly just, go to hell and burn.

Burn...

That liquid had burned going down her throat...

Wait. A bar, she'd been at a bar. Things were hazily coming back to her as she pushed the headache aside, best she could, letting her mind wander to the far ends to retrieve this information from where it was hiding.

She'd gone to a bar, met up with...

"Five?" her voice suddenly broke the silence of the morning. Bleary eyes opened and glanced upwards. Twinkling lights still glittered dimly above.

The weight on her shifted slowly as Five stirred. A low hum as she felt herself being pulled back into a chest. The male smiling into her shoulder. She was in a large shirt, one of his to be exact. He was shirtless, but wearing the pants to match her shirt. He rose as her voice reached his ears. The male's eyes were groggy as he watched her for a moment. "Mmmm, morning."

His voice was deep with sleep. His eyes were bleary but warm. "If your head hurts I have a few things to remedy that." he slowly crept out of the bed. Letting the blankets fall around her as he walked to the nearby cabinet. He opened it and brought out a few painkillers. As well as a herbal tea he knew to help. "Here we are. A nice herbal tea as well as some amazing painkillers."

He prepared the small treatment as he watched her. "Your in my bed, I'll admit. I might of..." he paused. "Acted ungentlemanly. I don't usually act like that while drunk..." he looked honestly confused at himself as he walked back over. Sitting on the edge of the bed as he offered her the cup and pills.

As Five gently pulled her to his chest, she blinked in confusion, but the soft hum of his voice settled her a bit. She knew that voice, that was definitely who she thought it was. The smaller of the two audio lifted her head to look at his face as he pulled back to look at her and speak. Her one normal sized ear flicked a bit, and the smaller one twitched about. How did he know her head hurt?

It wasn't until he stood from the bed, and she pawed a little at the fallen blankets, that she realized he was shirtless, and that she seemed to be in one that fit her more like a nightgown than a shirt. Slowly she sat up, rubbing her head a little as she did.

"Thank you." came her quiet murmur as the white/grey audio offered her the cup and the medication. She let herself sniff the tea, and her tail wagged slowly behind her as she held the cup in her hands. It wasn't long before she was taking the pills, enjoying the warm liquid that chased them down.

She wasn't entirely certain they'd work on her, but hey, it was worth a shot. With that done, she glanced back up at him from what almost looked like racoon eyes (The red that crossed her face often made her look like she had some sort of mask, afterall).

"Ungentlemanly?" what a strange word. "Act like what? I vaguely remember a drinking game... that alcohol was terrible Five. Ick."

Five chuckled as he watched her. "I...I'm going to be honest. What you felt last night was being drunk." he thought of the words to say next. "I...took advantage of you, while we were both drunk."

He rubbed the back of his neck. "So..uhm, if pups result. I...I want you and the pups to stay here." he looked at her seriously. "I want to protect both you and them, if I can..."

Aria had been making the mistake of taking another sip of the tea as he suddenly, and very bluntly, stated what had happened the night before. The girl damn near choked on her tea.

"Pups?!" she coughed moments after she choked out the word. Large green eyes looked up to his, a flurry of emotions fighting for dominance over which would come out on top. Aria was dazed, stunned even. Five was her friend. It didn't computer well.

"I can't have pups." she balked at him. Sure, her parents had been bots, but... that was because of Wily. Or something.

Frack, where the hell had they even sprung forth from.

Fiery coloured fur bristled a bit, and she put the tea aside, eying him carefully. Anger was currently at the forefront of her emotions, but it was being tampered down by the confusion that had, for the most part, plagued her since the night before.

"Isn't it sort of an antithesis of what happened to want to suddenly protect me?" there was a bit of a huff in her voice, but she, at the very least, wasn't making an attempt to come at him, or leave. She simply sat there, staring at him, the anger and confusion mixing in the expression on her face.

Five blinked. "That's why I said, 'If'...there is still a possibility of a miracle...or is that a normal faith sort of thing?" he tiled his head.

He reached out to caress her cheek. "I always wanted to protect you. Even if pups don't result. I honestly want you near me from now on, Aria."

Call him twisted. He shows love in various ways. The need to possess and keep near was a big one. He'd show her a area she can claim as her own space if that's what she wished. He would need to show her the exit/entrance to the market. That was a big one...

Aria didn't understand his question about faith. She'd never had faith. What she had was an outburst of panic. It hadn't been that long ago that she, herself, had been a pup. The young woman was certain that Five was trying to make her short circuit at this point. A miracle? Could you even call it that? Why would you?

Her head seemed to ache more, though in all likeliness it wasn't from the consumed alcohol the night before. Mind racing, her eyes had dropped away as she struggled for words. Any words.

She wasn't left to linger on her thoughts long when she felt Five's hand touch her cheek. There was a moment of tension, the anger bubbling to the surface again. It eased off, however, something in his words resonating in that little head of hers. Aria's eyes moved back up to meet his, scrutinizing his words a little, mind finally starting to slow down from the whirlwind ride it was going on since she woke.

"I... I'm not an item to keep..." she murmured out quietly. Being a bot already meant she was a thing, as far as some people were concerned. Not real. It's why she didn't go around highlighting the fact. After all, she looked perfectly normal, and if one didn't dig too much, you'd never know.

There was a pause, and a bit of a sigh that escaped her lips. She didn't know what to do.

"I..." she felt herself leaning slightly into the hand on her face. It was a pleasant touch. Not meant to harm her in any way.

"I could visit more?" was that a good answer? She didn't know.

Five nodded. He could deal with her just visiting. "Alright, but if there are pups...I ask that you at least keep them here. For my mental sake." he wouldn't add on that he wanted to hide them away for his own selfish reasons. He already lost one family to the City, he didn't want to lose the possible future one. He pulled her in for a tight hold.

"Aria...I'll make you a map of the maze." he already had like two. "That way, you'll be able to find your way through..." he'd make another just to use as an excuse to see her. For now.

"No pups." she snipped out anxiously again. Even if it was possible she doubted she'd want to be separated from them, given her own issues on parental abandonment. Ugh this was all so ridiculously hard on her head. How had this gone from a simple meet up with an old friend to...

Well she wasn't sure what to call this.

She was once more shaken out of her thoughts as he said he'd make her a map of the maze. The girl gave a short nod of her head. That... that was fine. The idea of being able to navigate around was a good one, and it settled easily on her mind.

"That works. Yeah. Yeah that'd be fine."

He nodded silently getting up to spread out a sheet of paper across the desk that was setup on the other side of the room. Being shirtless Aria would see the lash-like scars that criss-crossed over his back. Faint now as they aged. He was quick as he had the whole of his maze memorized, in his sketch of what the female would need to get through safely. The small jar of colored pencils that sat on the desk next to him rattled as he switched out colors as fast as he flicked a dart.

As he worked the male spoke. "So...beyond yesterday. Has life in the City been kind to you?"

"Hmm..." she eyed the other as he queried her. He was rather blazé about the entire ordeal of the night before. Maybe his attitude derided from whatever had caused those strange marks on him. It was not an excuse, just a manner of trying to understand cause and effect. Aria was less cool-headed about it all, and was still wrestling with it. A quick shrug of her shoulders as her eyes moved from his strange scars to the map he was drawing out.

"It's not been awful." she offered, trying to sound as colloquial as she could muster.

"I made some new friends. They took me in, help take care of me. In turn I help take care of the orphans they watch over. There's one girl, Ash. She... uh... well she used to work with, oh what was his name... Flashover? Yeah, she worked with him, but when he disappeared Fox took her and the pups she had with her in. Plus Raider and Glitch are around a bunch." it was a strange little group, but she was grateful for them. They'd taken her in when she was alone, and afforded her certain freedoms.

"How about you?" her eyes turned back to the scars once more, morbid curiousity rearing it's ugly head.

He was half way through the map as he glanced back to see her gaze on his back. The male blinked. "The scars are from long ago...when I was separated from my family I came under the care of an evil man. He wanted a toy he could break and reforge cracked at his leisure. He had one..." then he smirked before a flick of his wrist and she would feel something fall in her lap. It was a soft tiny plush. One that had been on his desk in front of him.

"Till he realized that his toy had far too many cracks in it for his safety. After that I was tossed into the junk yard where he threw all of his broken toys." the youth explained as he finished the very well drawn map. He showed it to her. "I learned things here and there, drawing has always been something I liked. Maps came easy because memory is just as necessary as breathing around here. There are others that roam in the shaded areas. They'll leave you alone." he sat on the bed next to her.

"This place is more like a escape for a lot of broken things. The others will generally avoid coming too deep, they have other homes. This place is a meeting ground of sorts." he shrugged.
