The pink and green metal that made up the majority of the stardroid's, Mercury, body, seemed to be in a constant state of movement. At the moment, he was leaning against a building wall, just silently surveying the area. A few onlookers had stopped, pausing, almost hypnotized by the lava-lamp like motions that swirled through his armour. He paid it no mind, however, he enjoyed the attention. Reveled in it, almost.

He was gifted. Better than most. An uncanny capacity to regenerate. Not to mention, the soft motion of his armour was cause of another wonderful gift. His own ability to melt down, and reform himself, in whatever form best suited the situation.

The stardroid spent very little time with any other bots. He was apt to give it exactly how he saw it, and he tended not to see anything other than 'better than you', so it left him with few, if any friends.

Not that he cared. It was better if they admired him from afar. He was priceless, after all.

The orange bot that tapped the toe of his boot against the pavement was making a patrol of the area for the moment. He wasn't sure who exactly was in charge of this part, but it was very well kept in order. He silently grumbled about the lack of rebels before he walked around the corner.

The male froze. Oh...bolts and sparkplugs. NO WONDER!!! There was no rebels...freaking Mercury. The Rebels probably got tormented by the guy before they all just gave up and bailed...damn Stardroid. Quick looked for any other way to get around him. There was none...He'd have to go right past him.

With pink dots on the tip of his tail.

He was never going to make it.

He didn't notice him at first, bu after a moment or two, Mercurys' lazy gaze turned towards Quick. Ugh, robot master. What a terrible shade of orange. He recognized the bot, he'd seen him a handful of times around, and while his normal colouration was enough to offend his senses, there was something especially awful about it right now.

"You know, it's supposed to be a yellow polka-dot bikini, not a pink one on your tail... though I guess I ought to be grateful, given I cannot, for the life of me, imagine anyone would dare ever wish to see such a thing."

If there was a hint of a grin, it was well hidden behind the unimpressed look on his face. He even snorted in disdain.

"What are you doing here anyway?"

Quick felt his tail curl next to him in his brief moment of anger. "Mmmmgh. Well. Wily asked me to take a walk...make sure things were okay. My own area fell to Rebels after my little...takedown." he crossed his arms as he growled off to the side.

"I don't know where Pluto is..." he muttered. "If Terra's done something to him---" he shook his head. 'You don't care..." he said as he looked back to the other. "So, in other words...I'm taking a walk."

"You're right, I don't care." the Stardroid's face now broke out into a grin, though there was nothing friendly about it. The grin was born of nothing but malice and superiority.

Though he snorted at the mention of Pluto. He had little interest in looking for him. Useless cat, always wrecking up stuff with his stupid claws. Ugh.

"Well, couldn't have you disappointing your daddy, I suppose." his tone was mocking as he stretched out a bit, putting his arms behind his head.

"I'm sure if he told you to jump off the top of the tower you'd be first in line, like an adorable lemming... " there was a pause, as he sized up the other.

"Ah, forgive me, the disheveled and disfigured lemming. I'll try to remember that for next time, of course."

There was a sharp growl outta the robot master before Quick took a deep breath. "Yes, we wouldn't want that." he gritted out.

At the tower comment he let loose. "OH COME ON!!! I am not that much of a sheep!!" he paused. "No offense to Sheepman." he glared at the other. "I seriously wonder what the Doc was thinking when he helped you Stardriods out...don't forget. Your in. OUR City." he growled.

"Oh, big talk from a pretty pink polka-dotted princess there, Lady Quick." he mused. He'd have rolled his eyes, but he couldn't be bothered. He just wasn't bothered enough by what the robot master was saying.

Instead, he just snorted a bit, moving his arms back down by his side. The strange, slow movements of of his armour were still going, and he pulled himself from where he was leaning, stepping towards the other bot.

"Really Quick, I could care less if you want to call this your city... I'm here... and you can deal with it. Or ... I can make it so you don't have to ever deal with it again."

Quick just sighed. there really was no trying to be nice to this guy..then Quick saw the armor move. His tail flicked and he watched it a moment before he commented. "Change of topic...how the frak is your armor so much cooler than ours?!? I mean dude...if I had half the ability you do to liquefy...My speed added with that ability..."

He thought about it and shivered. "That'd...be sorta scary you know? The possibility of a bot going at my speed suddenly turning to your liquid and going through something...at that velocity." He hoped the Doc wasn't listening in. That would be the worse bot that maniac could ever make. "I'm just saying..." Quick didn't want the other to think that he was getting a compliment.

"Because everything about me is cooler than you." Mercury just snorted and rolled his eyes. Though he 'allowed' the other to continue speaking his mind.

In the end he simply wrinkled his nose. Clearly he wasn't as invested in the idea as Quick was. Perhaps the idea of any bits of his own capacity being associated with any bits of Quick. Be it just a coupling of abilities.

Mercury didn't bother trying to hide the disdain he felt for the idea. Then let a slow smirk crawl back across his face. He took a few steps forward, lifting his arm... and letting it seemingly melt away. The fur and metal began to ooze and drip down his own arm, and he held out his other hand, letting what dripped down form a small, metallic ball in his remaining hand.

"I'm afraid I don't quite care for that. I prefer a slow, arduous method myself... savour the look in their faces when they see what's going on." he tossed the ball up in his hand a few times, catching it on each decent before tossing it to the air.

"Then again, perhaps immediate gratification is half your problem." the ball became a blade on the last decent, and he spun it around, getting a feel for the weight. He seemed satisfied with it, and attached it to where his hand and a portion of his forearm had previously been. It seemed to couple back in place with no issue.

"I suppose it makes sense though, given your creator goes in half-cocked himself." there was a snort. "I mean, do any of you function at full capacity? Does he even care? Somehow I doubt it. Just another piece on the way to finding something better than the last." his voice practically cooed out the last of his words, making sure ever syllable dripped with intoxicating venom, a slow, teasing song.

There was a long slow stare to the alien bot. Quick's eyes were deadpan as he watched the other. He was just called junk...alluded as a half-baked idea. The orange male looked around, listening to common sense for all of three minutes.

"Well, if I'm such a work in progress, then that means my ability to grow and surpass my current self certainly is a better fate than yours. Since your so much more advanced and complete. That means your stagnation is closer at hand than mine..." he retorted with a smirk. Oh he knew he was about to become scrap...but he could easily outrun the other. Heck he could outrun half the masters.

As the other bot spoke, Mercury allowed the blade to quickly reform back into his paw. It looked as though it had never melted, or been missing at all. He flexed his fingers a bit, as though he was letting them move and get a feel for them for the very first time. This happened in a mere few seconds, as the words finished spilling out from Quick's mouth.

"Oh, I'm not sure I can handle that burn. I will take my lifetime of perfect stagnation over being a leftover thought from the brain of an old, addled mind. You will always be second tier. You cannot grow and surpass, you weren't built with that capacity. There's all of two of you that aren't complete failures... and even then..." he let his voice trail off. Leaving his words to hang heavy in the air.

Quick would of retorted oh he so would of, yet...he paused. His mind recalled the last few times he decided to be a little jerk. Yeah...this was a no brainer. He turned and walked away. "Yeah yeah, lie to yourself all you want!! At the end of the day. The Masters are called such for a reason."

He took off. ...you only wish to catch up to what we are.

Mercury watched with a bemused grin as the orangish Robot Master suddenly darted away. Sure, 'The Masters'... perhaps of complete and utter failure.

Just look around at the ruins of the city to see that much.

Sadly, his entertainment had, like a coward, taken off. So with little thought, and no regret, he turned and moved back off on his own. The bot was more than content to spend the remainder of his evening meandering the area of the City he liked best.

Which happened to be most anywhere that Robot Masters weren't.
