Ana made her way around the group, visiting past and current patients. Her attention was not on May as she escaped from the pack. Ana walked toward Blaze after carefully chatting with the elders. She often asked how they were doing, usually able to tell when one or two of them were lying to her. The result of that ended in most cases with Ana handing them something for their aliments whether they liked it or not. The health of the pack was, after all, her business.

May wandered out past the tree line keeping her head low until the flickering lights were dim and distant. She traveled this particular path often and her tracks were consistent every time that she walked it. Her path ended at the base of a large willow tree, it made perfect cover, and helped calm her mind. She smiled as she parted the frons and enter the protection of the tree. She sat down at the base of the tree and quietly began to sing.

"Maidin moch do ghabhas amach,
Ar bruachaibh Locha Léin;
An Samhradh 'g teacht a's an chraobh len' ais,
Is lonrach te ón ngréin,
Ar thaisteal dom trí bhailte poirt
Is bánta míne réidhe,
Cé do gheobhainn lem ais ach an chúileann deas,
Le fáinne geal an lae."

After she finished the verse she hummed the melody as she pulled out a bag from a hole in the base of the tree. The small bag held several items precious to her, a secret she didnt even share with Ana. As she hummed she pulled the small items out and turned them over in her hands, every now and then lifting them to smell the faint scent of a wolf long gone. She sound of her voice carried through the forest, though the pack while they ate could not hear her, the sound of her song could be heard just outside of the camp.

For the song: "The Dawning of the day" its the first verse.

Cool! I looked it up on google translate, and it's a pretty verse. And don't worry about taking too long to reply. I'm fairly patient when it comes to waiting on replies. I know how it feels to work long days, even though I'm only part-time now. Still, where I work, with all the noise, it makes for a very long day, even only working 5.5 hours.

User ImageBlaze sat outside the camp, letting the wind blow over him, and he didn't move when he smelled Ana coming toward him. He had an idea what the healer wanted to talk about, but he wanted to give her a chance to speak first. His ears twitched when he heard May's voice from the forest, and from the sound of it, she was quite a ways into the trees. He smiled as he listened to the words of her song, recognizing the language as Irish, and although he didn't speak it, himself, he'd been around a few lycans from other packs that spoke Irish. He didn't recognize the song, but it had a calming effect.

Ana smiled at Blaze, "How are you fairing? I hope your health is well." She smiled again and handed off a cup of tea. A common thing for her to do, the tea filled with herbs to keep sickness away. She genuinely cared for the alpha, it was not just her duty to keep him healthy. While the health of the pack is what she focused on, her mind was mainly preoccupied with keeping Blaze and his mother in good health. She glanced past him at the sound of May's voice, and while she did not like her straying from the pack, she found comfort in hearing her voice. As long as she sang, she knew she was safe.

User ImageBlaze smiled when Ana spoke, accepting the cup of tea she handed to him. "Yes, I'm well, thank you, Ana," he said. He took a drink of the tea, smiling at the taste. "Don't tell Mama, but you make tea that no one else can," he said. "I'm not sure even Mama can make it taste like you do, Ana." As he drank, he could still hear May's voice, and not for the first time, he wondered where she went when she went off on her own. "It seems May has found solace when she wanders into the forest every now and then," he commented.

Ana chuckled, "You are too kind." She said in the remarks about her tea. "May tends to do that." She stated "As much as I don't want her to, its what she needs." She sighed and shook her head again, "Honestly I stopped fighting her over it, she-" She stopped and looked back into the forest. May's song stopped and suddenly the forest was quiet. "somethings not right" There was a strong sense of panic in Ana's voice. In the direction from where May's song came from there were quiet sounds of a skirmish, and a cry of pain. Ana covered her mouth and made for the tree's. There was a slight smell of blood on the wind.

May grunted as she stumbled back toward the camp. Her shoulder was bleeding and wrapped up with fabric that used to be her shirt. She had blood on her cloths that looked to not be hers. The right side of her hair was stained red, and it looked almost like she had bitten into someone or something. She glared at the earth as she walked, ignoring the throbbing pain in her arm.

Blaze smiled when Ana chuckled, nodding at her words. He knew she was right about May's disappearing into the forest, but when Ana stopped talking suddenly, he listened, and immediately picked up what sounded like a skirmish. He could smell May's blood on the wind, but he could also smell the blood of another being, one that wasn't a werewolf. He quickly rose, intercepting Ana as the healer made for the trees. "Ana, no!" he said. "If you go after her, whatever attacked her may target you, as well! Let me go. Rally the pack and send them after me!" Shifting to his wolf form, he dropped to all fours and took off for the forest.

Once he was within the trees, he paused, sniffing the air for May's scent, and he quickly picked it up, then followed it. A few moments later, he found her, and from the look of her, she'd been attacked by something with sharp claws. He was about to meet her when he heard a low growling noise from above, and he looked up just in time to see a cougar leaping down from a tree above May's head. Thinking quickly, Blaze lunged forward, grabbing May and pulling her out of harm's way just as the cougar hit the ground where she'd been standing a moment before. "Stay here!" he said, keeping his eyes on the cougar as it began to circle the two of them.

Being in his wolf form, Blaze could see quite well in the dark, and it looked like the cougar was injured. He realized this was the second blood scent he'd smelled, and he could see that one of its eyes had been torn out. He moved a short distance away from May, then started circling the cougar to get behind it. "Kitty doesn't look very good," he said, his voice taunting. The cougar sprang at May, but Blaze caught its tail, dragging it backward. He let it go as it turned and swiped at him with outstretched claws, a devilish grin on his face. "Kitty looks mad, does kitty want a ball to play with?" he taunted. The cougar swiped at him again, and Blaze backed off. He could smell a hint of metal behind him, and he realized there was a trap somewhere nearby. As he continued backing off, his right hind paw brushed up against metal, and he smiled a bit. The cougar lunged for him then, and he quickly dodged out of the way. The cougar hit the ground where he'd been standing, and immediately screamed in pain as the trap closed on its leg. Blaze shook his head and returned to where he'd left May.

May stumbled slightly, she heard sounds of the pack heading their way to help Blaze. She didnt move much from where blaze left her. Her mind was racing, not about the cougar, but what it meant. She heard several wolves slow and look down at her but only to pass her and continue toward Blaze. Ana was quick to her side, quickly trying to see where she was hurt.
"May, are you alright?" She asked panicked, quickly looking her over like a concerned parent. "This is why you shouldn't go out there out night." She looked May right in the eyes and paused, there was look in mays eyes that was much further than fear of the cougar. She had a look that Ana hadn't seen since she first found her in the woods. Ana's voice was suddenly hushed, "What did you see." She asked then suddenly lifted her head, seeing others pass her.
May frowned "Make sure they search for its master...." She said quietly. Ana quickly wrapped her arms around her and tried to wipe the blood from her face. She would have to clean her right shoulder later.

Blaze watched as some of the pack joined him in the forest, and he pointed them in the direction of the cougar. "Make sure you take care of the cougar," he said. Two of the hunters nodded, heading in the direction the cougar was in. A moment later, he heard the cougar scream a second time, followed by silence. A moment after that, the two hunters returned, nodding once to show that the cougar was dead. He nodded once in return, then turned his attention back to May. The young she-wolf had a look in her eyes that was beyond fear of the cougar, and his ears twitched when May said to make sure they found 'its' master. By 'it,' he assumed she meant the cougar, and he wondered what she meant. Walking toward her and Ana, who was hugging the young she-wolf and trying to wipe the blood from her face, he knelt down next to May. "What do you mean, May?" he asked, his voice gentle. "Whose master should we search for?"

May looked up at him with a worried expression, and before she could speak Ana spoke up. "Alpha Blaze, can we speak in my tent please." Ana carefully lifted May from the ground and sighed, "We must speak in private, and I need to tend to May." Carefully and gently she urged the shaken May into her tent. "It is not something she wishes for every member of the pack to know."

User ImageBlaze caught the worried expression on May's face when she looked up at him, and he looked at Ana when she spoke. He nodded when the healer asked if they could speak in her tent, and he followed them to Ana's tent. Once they were in the safety of the tent, he shifted back to his human form again, then sat down just inside the doorway of the tent. "Now what's all the secrecy?" he asked, keeping his voice low.

Ana gently sat May down, and handed May a towel. She calmly pulled at her shirt. To reveal a very large bite mark that went deep into her shoulder. "May darling, I have to focus on your wound. I am afraid you will have to explain to The Alpha what happened." She carefully began her work as May hesitantly looked at Blaze.
"When an albino is born to a pack, word tends to travel fast. In most cases it is hushed within the pack but-" May took in a sharp breath as Ana placed a cloth of an odd smelling liquid on it. "Someone in my birth pack shared words outside the pack with some humans." She sighed. "There is an elite group of humans who track down wolves, they cant be smelt or tracked. You will only know them by the creatures they master." May lowered her head. "The night that I stumbled into the pack boarderlands- when Ana found me. I had escaped a creature such as this." She winced as Ana began to stitch her wound closed. "The Cougar master, has a habit of hunting Albino's and selling them for a fair price." She felt a heavy shame for not sharing that information with the pack originally and it began to show on her face. "I had hoped that it was behind me, and something that was never going to come up again. I'm sorry I didnt know they would attempt it again." She stated using her free arm to cover her face.

User ImageBlaze listened as Ana spoke to May, then turned his attention to May as the young she-wolf started to speak, explaining how she had come to be found by Ana. Blaze was intrigued when May said that one of her birth pack had shared words with some humans outside the pack about her, and it made him growl in anger. None of his pack members would dare make a stupid mistake like that while he was alpha. He kept quiet until May had finished speaking, then shook his head when she apologized for not sharing this news with the pack sooner. "May, don't blame yourself for what happened," he said quietly. "It's not your fault that someone in your birth pack was so stupid as to try and make a deal with humans. Most wolves know to steer clear of humans because of how dangerous humans are.

As far as these humans and their beasts are concerned, should they ever set foot within our lands again, we will show them the error of their ways, and see to it that they don't make the same mistake again."
He paused for a moment, then spoke again. "I am glad that the pack does not know this now," he said. "It is common knowledge that most wolves are afraid of albino wolves, because it is believed that albinos bring misfortune on those around them. Telling the pack this would only fuel that fire, and that is something I would rather avoid. Granted, not all the pack believes that, but the younger members are easily swayed by what they hear, or have been taught. The elders, however, are not so superstitious, and that could work to our advantage."
