"To the pure you show yourself pure and to the crooked you show yourself shrewd."
~[She felt foolish but a part of her was proud of herself. She had successfully turned down the wiles of the sexy Cheshire cat, now she only had to deal with the awkward feeling of knowing it didn't matter when looking at his smile. He looked so casual, so smug with everything. It made her nervous, and a bit annoyed. She stood, still smiling, and deposited her leftovers into the garbage along with her paper bag. The sudden intrusion of her boss Shane made her jump as she turned. She could hear his voice underwater, that's how high and unfaltering it was! "I suppose you have a point. Thanks for keeping me company." She nodded to him. She wasn't even aware of the sudden blush painting her cheeks as she watched him walk away. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" She followed her boss, turning back only once to see Matthew making his way down the road. Would she see him again? Maybe in her dreams... The idea made her heart race and her mind wander but Shane was quick to bring her back to reality with his demands. Off she went!
-Time skip-
Amy had told her friend Terra everything. She told her about the awful customer and eating in the ally. She managed to keep the best part of her day to herself which made the young girls friend suspicious. Amy tried her best to convey her story without showing off any feelings but Terra could tell her best friend was anxious and full of some sort of adrenaline, she needed a night out! They were a bit young but the blonde was determined to get Amy into her first bar! They teased her hair, got her a fake I.D and set her up with a gorgeous new outfit. Amy had had a hard day and it was Terra's goal to make things right!
The two got in with ease and made their way to a corner booth before Terra was sent off to get them a set of drinks. She tried to get Amelia to mingle with her but the brunette was far too shy. She kept her mind on other things and watched Terra from afar, with nothing but a vodka cranberry between her hands. She looked beautiful in the darkness. Terra had done her makeup and accentuated her lips with a bright red lipstick. She should've been having fun and getting boys to buy her drinks like Terra but...Amy just wasn't like that. She was worried about what her dad would say and she was worried about having lied to him to be here. Amy was a good girl at heart who just wanted everyone around her to be happy, if only someone understood that.
She was lost, looking at the dark liquid before a familiar voice and coming warmth made her look away. It was Matthew! Was this supposed to be...fate? A princess and her prince charming... "Don't tell anyone." She blushed, already feeling shy, but her nonexistent smile finally materialized, letting him know she was happy to see him. "My friend wanted me to have fun...I couldn't really say no until I was already here." She took her finger and lightly rimmed the glass, allowing the tip of her index to race around the rim over and over before stopping. She looked to him. "You really are following me aren't you?" Her eye's met his and she couldn't help but smile. ]~
"Wouldn't it make more sense to just be nice to everyone?"
