Entry Title: It's not Delivery...

He had been waiting for ten minutes now...

'Three o'clock..on the dot.' the man called, glancing up at the clock. 'I was told three on the dot...But..'

No...No..He couldn't be impatient. This wasn't the kind of thing you could rush. Girls always demanded their own sense of perfection with this....And, well...

"I promised I'd wait....." the man called, stretching out into his chair. He wasn't exactly the patient kind, but for her...he could wait.

Eleven...Twelve...Thirteen minutes past the hour. Time was slowly slipping away...And the presence in the air felt heavy. He hadn't been blown off, had he? He wasn't waiting for nothing, was he? The thought crossed the mind for the faintest of moments, before the doors suddenly flew open.

"Ah..! Sorry, sorry!" a girl's voice called, pacing over to him in a hurry. "You would not BELIEVE how crowded it was. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have taken so long.."

The man merely nodded, brushing off the thoughts. He had been waiting for a while, but finally...She was here. They said absence makes the heart grow fonder....But, when the girl leaned over to his table, he truly knew the feeling. All of his worries melted away in minutes, as he looked the girl in the eyes...round golden orbs looking back at him with an easy smile.

"Don't worry about it." he called, starting to lean forward. "These kind of things happen."

"R..right." the Heroine called, lightly blushing from the intensity of his gaze. Very few could hold up to his expression, and she was no different. A few silent moments passed, before the tension was finally broken...And the truth, laid bare as the plate she set on the table.

"One Extra-Large, Heaven's Finest." the girl called, bowing lightly as she backed up, giving him and the object of his affection space. She wasn't the most normal person..but even she could tell when a situation needed no more interruptions.

"Perfect.." the White haired son of Sparda called, hands moving to grasp at a section of the beautiful Pizza, starting to pull it away. Cheese that was just gooey enough to stick to the other slices...

Toppings that were lovingly scattered over the surface....The scent of freshly melted cheese...of Oven-fresh dough...Of the light garlic butter that glazed over the crust...and with a single bite, that heavenly sauce hidden just beneath the surface of flavor....

It was the perfect combination of sensations. The marriage of sensory and spiritual enjoyment...

Truly, love..in it's purest of form.
The love between a badass demon hunter...and his favorite food:

Pizza.

Entry Title: Versus: The World

This was the end....
A phrase commonly tossed around like a cliche. The end of what..? A story? A character arc? A Life? Or the world...?
He had lived to witness many ends of his own....And overcome them....
He created his own ends dozens of times over the amount that had threatened him in his development....And, he was no less than a Deity of cruelty, power, and despair among those that would call themselves 'Heroes'.
He was a sign of how bad things would get...How horrid their trials would be...And a reminder of how nightmarish their situation was.
Yet, over the course of seven days....Over countless ordeals, and trials..Over the many tests that they were given....There was one final one.

Tala Ivanov himself.

Yet, as he looked up at the myriad of 'Survivors' as they called themselves...Of the miserable Medley of summoners that pretended to have some semblance of power to his....He knew in his heart.
'This isn't a test they can pass.' the Chaotic Demi-Fiend called, eyes glaring over some of the subjects in particular.

There was the brown haired boy, with a revolting scar, and a foul look. His blood had started off murky, but with a sweet flavor underneath..Akin to a slice of cake, with a fine coal dusting.

There was the pink haired warrior with his gentle fists. A hardy, yet juicy flavor.with a bitter aftertaste...Much akin to a green apple....

There was the teal haired sister of those that called themselves the Lion and Tiger....A sharp mixture of sugar, and spice. Enough to make a lesser being flinch...But, an unforgettable sensation as it went down....

There was the pitiful excuse of a Demi-fiend, her blood rather salty, and thick...As if she'd attempted to absorb the magatsuhi from those she felled. Though her flavor had a fair amount of punch...It lacked a firm aftertaste to capture the eyes...

The silver-haired Samurai girl..With a tangy, watery flavor he'd sampled more than a few times. Her taste was persistent...if not overpowering. Something he could wash out with others.

The silver haired 'Hero' of the I team...A firm, robust flavor that made him long for a bit more. Indescribable as an individual, but accenting the others he'd sampled nicely.....

The masked-vigilante that thought to fell him right away...And was tossed aside like a rag doll. He had a sharply sour taste that made his nose wrinkle in disgust, yet with enough spice to make Tala smile. There was a lot of fight in him......That he would be able to crush.

And, there was a silver haired girl, with a meek personae, and a quiet disposition. A scent that showcased her fear...Yet, likely hid another exquisite flavor. Something he would need to sample, before sending her down to Hell with the others.

There were others around too...Those that had either escaped his notice, or had been too mundane for him to recollect. Fools, and wanna be heroes alike...

"An All you can Eat buffet.." he whispered in a hushed tone, as they all got their phones out. To any other demon, it was a massive, overwhelming horde of encounters....Top level demons staring down the Demi-fiend with nary a thought to his chances. To Tala though...

An Appetizer.

"Novae Rog!" he called out, a giant Blizzard of Ice and almighty energy doing it's part to thin the ranks of Devils that would approach him...Sending some of them into Magatsuhi from the raw power of it. No sooner did he launch the attack did he move...Intent on keeping the offensive up, and tear apart their defenses...

One.
By.
One.

Yet, as the Fiend's hand went out to rend the 'Leader's heart from his chest, a pair of blades swung down at him....That might as well have been toothpicks.

"I told you I'd watch your Six, Seta!" the gnat called, barely noticing as Tala captured his blades with his empty hand, shattering them with a clenched fist. The Demi-fiend ducked down to avoid the swipe of the Investigation team leader, then spun around to kick the stomach of the pitiful excuse of a Demi-fiend, elbowed the Samurai's attempt at slashing at his back aside...And whipped the fragments of the idiot's blades at the supposedly fierce-some sister of the Nekata's...

A complete riposte of their attacks, as his hands moved to tear apart the gnat's sword wielding arms as he had his own...Yet...

"You can count on us, Goose." The leader of the investigation team called back to his newfound friend, a Spear, a palm strike, another blade, and even the crack of a whip starting at him.

The Demi-fiend expertly twisted and turned, evading every strike without breaking a sweat....But, almost visibly flinched as a fist was coming closer to him....

The silver haired Investigation leader's assault having not ended with the blade strike.

There was a moment of contact, but not enough to feel the impact of the strike. He avoided the punch for the most part....But...

"Tch.." he sounded, backing up from the herd of summoners trying to attack him...Taking them in all in his view for a moment, as a sizzling sound could be heard on the ground...A tiny, almost unnoticeable graze on his face、and a single droplet of acidic material melting through the ground...

'Blood..' the Demi-fiend called, watching as the group started to re-summon allies....Bringing out another horde that would make any fiend sweat. They were going with sheer numbers....Aiming to overwhelm him.

"Crimson.....LIGHTNING!" he called out, sending an air-crackling jolt of lightning towards the group of humans. This time, he could see the sprays of blood...
The anguish on their faces...and more than a few demons dispersing from the efforts. Several people had fallen...and he gave them the same, prideful grin.

"Not so hard.." he called out quietly, before lunging again. "You're like presents..ready to be tore open."

More strikes went after him. Clenched fists, shattered blades, twin knives, even a nail bat. They were all too slow for him to be hurt by..Yet..

"Don't you know? Only good kids get presents." the Demi-fiend called, a boot moving to kick the Fiend in the back of the head.

Tala ducked the strike handily, claws finding the abdomen of the girl, and pulling in the torn flesh for a taste. It still had a salty flavor to it...But, much more colorful on the senses now. As if she'd managed to change in the past few days....Yet...

"Still too weak.." he called out as she fell, moving towards the crowd.
Another medley of flavors....

Hardy..bitter...Sweet....Sour...Spicy.....

He sampled the flavors of his adversaries, watching them fall one by one before his hands. Yet, as he slurped at an unfamiliar flavor....Savoring the rich, full sensation, with a tart aftertaste
Something hit him. A rock, in the back of the head. It was no damaging blow by any stretch, yet...

"Yeahhh! We can do this guys! Me and my Expert-rock-throwing skills have paid off! Take THAT Johnny Preta, 80's Trivia Champ!"

Another fool....talking smack to a Preta. As the Chaotic demi fiend went to lunge at him though....A familiar fist was swung his way.
The pitiful Demi-fiend, looking good as new. The strike landed on his nose....And the sensation of blood could be felt trickled down....Yet, as the girl's skin started to burn from the Acid, he merely ran his hand through the girl's stomach again...twisting up her insides.

"A single strike.." he called, tossing her limp body aside. "I've taken out your whole armada..And combined, you've all laid barely a single, noticeable strike on me.."

Except, as he looked up...The only fallen one was the Demi-fiend. Others sported bloodstained outfits....All clutched at their parts in agony...Yet, were standing. The demons were moving to and from the warzone, a glowing hand from a Metatron showing him what he needed to know as the Demi-fiend's hole was closed up.

"Resurrection magic.." he grumbled, before feeling his fists clench in a strange..unfamiliar sensation. Something he hadn't felt in a long time...

Excitement?

"Everyone..I know that we're in a tough spot right now.." the investigation team leader called, hoisting his blade up. "But, know this. We've endured all 7 of these days..and we will not let this last trial overwhelm us. We will not falter...We will WIN this fight!"

The foolish ramblings of a human. Their eyes all sparked with hope...Glimmered with purpose, and radiated with a firm will..A purpose.
They...would defeat him? Absurd. Yet, as he wiped his already mended nose with his hands...He adopted a positively devilish grin, kneeling down into a primal fighting stance...Chaotic, like the fiend himself.

'They won't win..' he told himself firmly...Honestly..and assuredly. 'But..I'm excited to watch them try...And, gorge myself on them when they finally do fall.'

Blades were replaced, new demons were summoned, and the foes all stood before him. It was the remnants of the world versus him....
Almost an even match. Perhaps, if he tied both hands behind his back...

Day 7 - Event 7
Social Links

For the Final Day, your very unique task is to write a post, story, or entry in which you use characters from this Guild and Universe in a way that...what else?...demonstrates their friendship with one another and the growth of said friendship through events, circumstance, conversation, and/or whatever methods make up the core of the evolution of the link between two people. This is the heart of what Persona and Persona 4 especially is all about...how the bonds between one another are formed, how they evolve, and the strength and comfort that people may find within one another as a result of them. You may use any characters in the Guild, and you may choose any setting within this Guild's worlds for the two to interact with one another, but in the end, the two must become friends in such a way that you would raise a Social Link between them at the end of it. It can also be any level of Social Link, from beginning a Link to MAX-leveling a link, whatever you choose, just so long as the core ideal of friendship remains in-tact!

Judging will be based on the creativity of your situation, how well I can believe that these characters are or have become friends based on your post, how well you capture the spirit of friendship in this post, and how well you capture the essence of a Social Link from this Guild and Personas past. Outlining a beautiful friendship between people who are already close will earn you a lot of credit, but selling me on the friendship between characters you might not think could be friends with your entry will also learn you a great deal of credit. Using characters who are not solely your own in addition to your own may also earn you a little extra credit. But in the end, make sure that what you write feels genuine, as that is the heart of friendship!

...This is your final task! Thank you for competing in the 2016, 7-Year Anniversary GUILD-LYMPIC Games, and for an amazing 7 years together here in this Guild! It's insane to think of how far we've come together, the friendships we have forged, and none of it would be possible without such a wonderful and diverse group of RP'ers as we have had here over the years...especially those of you who are still here, and have been here since Day 1. From the bottom of my heart, thank you again! And good luck on your final day of these GUILD-LYMPIC Games!

...You may begin making your posts right away! Best of luck to all competitors, and may the best man (that isn't me) win!

Gaia Name: Rednal
Character Name: Lira
Event: Social Links
Entry Title: The Secret

"Lira! Weren't you going to see a movie today?"

In the midst of flipping channels, Lira paused - then bit out a curse. "I know, I'm getting ready!" she said, fumbling around in her dresser and pulling on a black shirt with a bloodstain pattern on it. She slipped on her skirt a moment later, then grabbed her bag and hauled out the door. "It's a festival, so my phone's gonna be off and I'm not going to be back until late." Lira said as she trotted out the door.

From there, it didn't take long at all to catch a bus to the downtown region - which, as far as she was concerned, housed some of the most important buildings in the area. Carefully, Lira peered left and right a few times, then darted into a public restroom and opened her bag. Off came the bloody-patterned shirt, replaced by a simple light blue shirt. The skirt went as well, replaced by a pair of brown shorts, and she took just a moment to tie her hair up in a ponytail to help keep it out of the way.

With that, she headed out of the room again, crossing the street and entering into a very special building. It did not have zombies decorating the walls. In fact, the colors black and red were almost totally absent from the interior. What it did have were over three dozen cats, and Lira let out a happy squee as she moved over and gently started to pet one of them. A satisfied purr entered her ears a moment later as the cat relaxed, then rolled to the side to present its belly for a gentle rub... a demand Lira was happy to fulfill.

"Aaaaah, who's a happy little fuzzball?" she asked, scratching under its chin as the feline gently rubbed its head against her, seeking a little more attention. With a satisfied sigh, she looked up... and her eyes met Noelle's, who was looking into the cat cafe through one of the exterior windows.

The following scream almost got her banned from the cat cafe for life.

"Lira!?" Noelle asked a few minutes later as the two took a seat in the back corner of the small cafe. "I thought you were going to go see a few movies...?"

"If you say a single word to anyone, I swear they will never find the pieces of your body." Lira answered. Her face was almost as red as her hair, and her body was shaking as she avoided looking into Noelle's eyes.

Noelle was made of pretty tough stuff, though - and she knew that Lira didn't actually mean the threat. Probably. "I'm just curious... why?" she asked.

Lira just let out a long sigh. "I like cats!" she answered. "That's not so weird, is it? They're furry and warm and cute, and they'll even sit on your lap if they like you." As she spoke, one of the cafe's felines did just that, apparently judging her legs as worthy of being sat on. (This didn't mean much. Cats would sit on anything given half a chance.)

"No, I mean... why hide it? There's nothing wrong with liking cats." Noelle pointed out.

Lira rubbed her eyes a bit. "I don't like looking weak." she muttered, gently stroking the fur of another cat that had come up beside her. "With all the crazy stuff that goes on... I feel like I have to be strong all the time, you know? But I'm not some kind of superwoman, and since I really love cats, this is one of the best ways to let off some steam."

"So all the times we thought you were going to horror film festivals..." Noelle didn't even need an answer - Lira's face said it all.

"I did go to some of them." she said defensively. "I do like things like that... I just... sometimes I come here instead." the cat beside her began licking one of her fingers, and almost against her will, her mouth twitched into a smile. "And not a single. F***king. Word. The last thing I need is Haru-Miji making a bunch of terrible cat jokes."

Noelle thought about that for a moment, then winced and nodded. She definitely wouldn't put it past their resident prankster to try and take advantage of knowledge like that... and while she wasn't sure Lira really needed to be so defensive, it was obvious that the red-haired girl often felt trapped, helpless, and unable to control her own destiny. After what had happened... they'd all felt that way. If this was the way she got comfort, why not let her keep it? "All right, I won't tell." she promised. "And you don't have to worry about waiting for film festivals, either. We can just say we're going out shopping together, and I'll come with you - this place is pretty nice."

"You'd... do that for me?"

Noelle just smiled. "Of course I would, silly. What are friends for?"

Entry Title: The Vendetta

Green arrows arced through the sky, splitting and multiplying as they went - three, nine, twenty-seven, then each one splitting into a thousand fragments packed with three times as much Spiritual Power as before. How did the technique work? Each arrow detonated as it hit the ground, and the end result was a steady tide of destruction that carpet-bombed the endless hordes of Hollows below.

There was no time to rest, though - not for Faustus, an elite member of the Quincy who was almost certain that he was still an Acolyte, the updated Ultimate Form of the Quincy's Final Form. Classes had been known to shuffle around a little bit with little warning, but he'd liked the bowmanship skills that had come with the class, and he was putting them to good use now.

Almost two miles away (which was, like, half a percent of the range of pretty much any ability you cared to name) was the reason for all of this madness - the Arrancar who styled himself the God of the World, Naniyori, who'd busted into his base and had tea with an underling when he was offline, saying his green hair was obvious proof he was Faust and that this was okay. He'd had absolutely no regrets about it, either, and Faust knelt down and started activating a dozen boosters, each of which was going to triple the deadliness of his attacks.

Looking more amused than anything else, Naniyori just waved a hand, and literally hundreds of swords appeared in the air around Faust, all of their blades pointed inwards. For reasons nobody could explain, the technique had been named "Bondage", and Faust didn't hesitate to activate one of his counter-skills and dart to the side, between the blades, as they appeared.

"Hey! They're too dense for that! It says so right in the skill description!"

"Shut up, Naniyori, we are NOT having this argument now!" Faust yelled back, launching a few dozen arrows into the sky. When they came back down, they'd shifted into the form of lock-on missiles that used spiritual power for fuel to track down their opponents, and Naniyori spent a few moments cutting them from the sky as the two combatants plotted their next move. He focused a moment later, and sent a massive burst of energy towards the stupid Espada.

"Uh-uh! My skill is very clear on this - My Cannon > Your Cannon." Naniyori said, and Faust just let out a long-suffering sigh.

"I don't even WANT to do the math for that @#$&#xin;g skill! How many multipliers do you have there, anyway!?"

"Uh... look, it's a really good cannon, all right?" Faust winced as his blast was completely enveloped by the shot from the Grindery. "And at least it's not Rednal's Breaker Gorgon!"

"Speaking of, I wanted the lines from getting involved here, so play nice." Rednal said, stabbing a staff into the ground beside him. Growling slightly, Faust sent an arrow his way, too, but it vanished as it approached the field the staff was giving off. "Don't mind me, carry on."

"You're using that @#$&#xin;g staff of yours just to get extra lines!?"

"It's not my fault everybody likes having insane multipliers. I want to feel at least slightly safe before somebody makes a 'break the unbreakable field' power. And hey, you're still in the middle of a fight. I'm not stopping you from doing whatever you want." Rednal pointed out, chucking a dagger towards Faust so it landed on the ground next to him. "Here, you can use this - you don't mind, do you, Naniyori?"

"Not a bit, buddy friend pal! It's not gonna make a difference!"

Faust growled a bit, but picked up the dagger and shoved it into his belt. Rednal was kind of an insane collector of items, and this one was... annoying if you got hit by it. Fortunately, people practically never did, but if he could just pin Naniyori down for awhile... ugh. What he really needed was a chance to shut down some of Naniyori's Base Multipliers, since those were giving insane boosts to his defense... but if he played one of his dozen trump cards, he might just be able to manage it if the other Mods ruled his way...

Entry Title: The Emperor...

"I don't know about this, Konpaku. I hear the club's pretty intense.."

"It'll be fine, Myon-senpai."
she had called to him, pushing open the doors. "Even if you're a novice, at my old school we'd be patient, and teach you. I'm sure the team here is just as inviting....'

A thought the girl couldn't fully complete, as she watched two students bring wooden swords together with a loud Clack!. Movements were fast paced, and vicious...Neither side giving an inch. The sounds of wood slamming into each other kept ringing out, as other students stood around the ringside...Watching the scene with invested eyes.

Youmu herself was in awe of the warrior on the left, holding his stick like a Rapier. His movements were swift, yet precise....A quick slash letting him past the other's guard...The face-mask being clacked against.

"Point! Match! Captain Mymariel!" the referee of the match called, holding his hands towards the warrior. Both students bowed to each other, as was custom...Before removing their helmets.
While the other boy had been someone nondescript, the 'Captain' was a blonde haired figure..With a serious, stern scowl...And a fire in his eyes she couldn't readily meet. No sooner had she found herself looking at him did the boy turn...Catching a glare at the two arrivals.

"Are you two here to try out for the Kendo Club?" the boy called, striding over to her and Nekura. Youmu found her gaze slowly seeping from the ground up..as she struggled to make contact with the boy.

"A..Ah..Yes.." she started, with a bow. "My name's..

"Wow, you really took the piss out of that other guy."
Nekura mused, gesturing. "You must be pretty good at this kind of thing."

"...I try." the stern looking boy called, eyes glancing over them. She could practically feel him eying her up..scoping out her ability....And her reactions. She couldn't find her way to meet his gaze at this, intimidated by his own oppressive, intimidating aura...before seeing him hold out a hand.

"My name is Ailek Mymariel. Senior, Class 3." he introduced, taking Nekura's hand in a firm shake, before offering it to Youmu. "I'm the Captain of the Kendo club here at Yasogami. Despite any rumors you might have heard...We're not as intense as one might lead you to believe. Most of our members are barely capable of swinging a blade in a manner not reminiscent of a saturday morning Shounen anime. I do hope that you two will at least have some form of cognitive thought in those brains to learn a proper style, rather than blind imitation of a fantasy life you see on Television...."

"Ah...Well, I tend to pick things up fast." Nekura called, lightly nudging the girl. "But, Konpaku here's a practitioner of...What was it you called it? Iago? Eldo..?"

"Iaido?' the Club captain called, with a raised eyebrow..A piqued interest. "That is...most intriguing. Have you formally trained before?"

"Y..yes." Youmu answered, her eyes glancing up at the boy's face. A small smile had formed, as she nodded. "My...father ran a Dojo before we moved to Inaba. I trained with him...and, figured this club could help me progress myself further in the ways of the blade.."

She could hear a sound coming from the blonde. A..chuckle..?
"The finest blade stays in the scabbard, they say." the boy called, a bemused expression finding it's way to his lips. "While I cannot say swordsmanship is an art that will come in handy to your day to day life...I can say that it will be an honor training with you, miss..Konpaku?"

"Youmu." she piped up, holding her hand out at this for the boy to shake. "M.....My name's Youmu Konpaku. I'm a second year. Class 3."

"The pleasure is mine, Konpaku." the blonde called, smiling. "You and he can look around for today. We'll get you fitted for a uniform soon enough, and we'll be able to properly train. The club meets on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays....So long as it doesn't rain of course. And, we halt meetings the week before exams, so that you may have proper time to study. We don't require you to come to every club meeting..But, we appreciate it if you come by often. It'll make you More Diligent if you show up for practice, after all."

"Understood...." Youmu called, bowing her head. "You can count on us, Mymariel-Senpai."

And at that, a sound echoed throughout the girl's mind...As a familiar voice called out.

Thou art I....And I am Thou...

Thou hast established a New Bond...

It brings thee closer to the truth...

Thou shalt be blessed when forming Personas of the Emperor Arcana..

"So, stop me if you've heard this one."
The white haired senior was gesturing towards his...less than motley crew, lifting up a small chunk of earth on the ground.

"What do you get, when you cross a... Yes, Fujomaki?"

"A setup!" the boy called as he posed with his swords, gesturing to the sky. "Truly, the only proper way to start a comedic effort! To set up the plot for later!"

"Not what I meant." Rayne snapped, before turning. "Again..What do you get when you cross a greeting, with an afternoon question from someone Spanish?"

"A bad stereotype?"

"A bad joke?"

"Something in poor taste?"

"No, you pieces of s**t!" the boy snapped, before throwing the chunk of earth up into the sky. "Look, it's not that hard. You just need to use those skulls of yours and.."

"Oh! I got it! SCIENCE!" the boy's voice called, excited.

"What the...No! Ugh..You're so ******** irritating Fujomaki.."

"Oh no, No! I got it! A wicked dance move! Hot and cold!"

"What the..that's not even REMOTELY it!"

"Why don't you just tell us? I'm sure we're all just quivering with Antici..."

"You be quiet, Necromonium." Rayne snapped, glaring up at the boy. "Look, it's clear that this kind of thing is just bombing at this point, and I suck at improvising. So, if you'd be so kind.."

"He's not great at impro-Lying, either." Shun quipped, prompting the first chuckles of the night.

"Hey! Shut the f#*k up!"

"What's wrong? Are these jokes too...Paik-ful for you?"

"Fujomaki.."

"Or maybe you just love Rayne ing on everyone's parade."

"Shun, I swear to God.."

"What? You want me to Shun-t my mouth? Can you not handle all of the Pun I'm having at your expense?"

"If you say one more thing, Fujomaki, I swear I'm gonna come over there and.."

"What? Punish me? Gonna take Punitive action? It's all just good harmless Pun after all! No need for you to Maki-a big deal out of it! After all, you're just no Pu-"

The sentence wasn't finished at this, as the boy was interrupted with a loud
WHUMPF, and tumbled to the ground. It wasn't Rayne tackling him, or the crowd turning on him...But rather..The rock that he tossed earlier.

"A Hey-Day-Que."

Boos could be heard as Shun was taken away...and Rayne stomped off from the makeshift stage.

"Well, at least I got an award for Partici-

Entry Title: S. Link Wars 2: The Frenemies Strike Back

The green haired junior sighed alone into a TV dinner as he flicked on the television.
"Yet another night of sitting alone, and watching my stories." he called, letting out a deep sigh. "Man, my life sucks."

"Not so fast!" another voice called...Droll, dull, and uninterested..but strangely competitive. Faust wouldn't need very long to guess who the voice was, as the front door was blown off...And landed somewhere in the hallway. "My life sucks WAY more than yours does."

Suddenly, a fire stormed to the boy's eyes...and Faust tossed down the dinner...standing up.
"Rednal..." he called in a tone reserved for only the most mortal of enemies...Or, the closest of friends. Thin line, really. "What do you want now? Come to rub all the good things in your life in my face again?"

"Uhh, no. The Opposite, actually." the boy called, pointing dramatically. "Last time, we had a battle in the bathrooms over who was the best and who deserved Yuno..But this time, we're ending this."

"Okay. it's over."

Flinch

"Shut up Yidhra. You weren't around for that." Rednal's voice snapped, turning to talk at something. "My persona's a voice in my head that constantly trolls me and others...And she even takes the form in my house of an actual person! Do you KNOW how hard it is to clean those Hair-mouths? It's not fun! Especially when she takes bites at my San score!"

"At least she's around." Faust's voice called, glancing away. "I got left by Kusuri...And Eoria got distracted by a blinking Taillight the other day, and I haven't seen her since."

"Well, that's just your fault." Rednal called, patting his chest. "I and my Girlfriend were attacked by a guy who looked even wussier than you are, and he killed a freaking Arcade! At least your dates weren't crashed!"

"The only dates I've had were with Yuno, and those don't count."

"Did you pay?"

"I always pay."

"Ah. Right. Then...they might count." the boy called, before shaking his head. "I mean...At least you don't have children who won't tell me who they're related to! There's Iofiel, and Relika and....Well, Euphie likes me at least..but that's beside the point!"

"I have a daughter that wants me dead.." Faust started, a comically bad drawing of Kokona appearing. "A daughter that won't stop calling me 'Daddy' in mixed pubic. [Cynthia], and one that always gives me those scary-almost-bedroom eyes that you get from Crazy chicks."

"Oh, you're talking about Yuno." he started, before blinking. "Wait, you had a kid with Ga-chan?! Why the hell wasn't I told?"
"Because she refuses her with every fiber of her being....(Izumi Nonwithstanding).....Meaning I'm the sole focus of her affections."

"Eh, that doesn't seem so bad.."

"She slipped Alioth venom into dinner the other day. Said 'If I can't have papa, no one can.' Do you know how long it takes to recover from that?"

"Wow...That's rough, buddy." Rednal's voice called, patting the boy on the shoulder, before snapping back to attention. "Wait wait wait..that's beside the point! We've been rivals since the beginning! Ever since I trounced your Sexist-Trap shadow, and you conquered it!

"Wasn't that back before you had nuclear skills?"

"We don't talk about back then." Rednal stated flatly...Which for Rednal, was a lot. "But, even then..You always were trying to one up me! Trying to raise your Social links faster than me...You even were trying to Max Keira's Social link before me, and I gave her my second heart!"

"We don't talk about that." Faust replied, in just as flat a manner as Rednal. "And I think I WON that race, thank you."

"Beside the point. Then there was the rush to Ultimate persona...Then to maxxing all links.....There was the time at P1 grand Prix where I refused to fight you until you beat the s**t out of me...There was the time that you hit me in the face for suggesting I take Soji's place..."

"I've hit you a LOT, Rednal." Faust called lightly, nodding. "And then there was the time at the Hot-springs when we had to fight to peek on the actually-not-babes-but-actually-Shadows-that-we-found-out-because-Zeo.."

"God dammit Zeo."

"Hey! That's my line!"

"And then there was the time we had that totally hypothetical 'Who would win' contest, and I got picked as the winner over you. The one where you blew up my house over something?

"We don't talk about that either." Faust added, as Rednal threw his arm aside.

"Well, regardless! I think we've well established our relationship of rivalry, and vitriolic best buds. I mean, we maxxed each other's link and all...But we still argue and fight! We're also some of the oldest members of the team, with Minori. And, since Amelia's gone...We have to keep volleying back and forth over which of us is better!"

"Right." Faust called, before digging into his couch, and pulling out an emerald lightsaber, flicking it on with a flash. "At least we're both wearing pants this time."

"You attacked Me in the shower last time." Rednal reminded him, drawing his own Saber. "So, as I said before...Let's END this!"

"Bring it on!"

A small distance away, after the two had gotten far off track from their original goal of competitiveness over distress..a familiar figure hummed about in the kitchen.

"Oh, Dad's fighting Rednal again." Amora's voice called, tossing her various tools into the cabinet where they wouldn't be seen. Some bright lights..String...A Screwdriver..some mallets..Mace....All kinds of things to distract everyone else from her father. "I guess we could have him over for dinner tonight. Tonight's curry night...With my special secret ingredient!"

She took a container with an ominous skull on it, and poured it into a segment of the dish, smiling and humming all the while as it cooked. "Mmm.....Tonight's dinner is going to be to die for..."

"Alright...Looks like we all made it to the safe house." The door was slammed shut by the brown haired ex-senior, who slumped back up against it. They had gone through hordes, and hordes..and hordes of them...watching as they ruined everything in the area...But, were simple enough to outmatch...Frail enough to overcome.

"I hate Bridges.." the sour Kuzunoha spat, letting his bat rest against the ground.

"Now now Raidou. Don't get your panties in a bunch." the smallest of the Kuzunoha called, as she reloaded her sniper rifle. "Taking care of business like this is why we're called Kuzunoha..The Military's elite task force, that handles Zombie outbreaks."

"Ciela's right, you know." another voice called...A tanned, special agent with a machete at her side. "We're sent out to prevent these class Z threats...and we're going to do so with our new recruit, aren't we Geirin?"

"R..right Kyouji." the newest member of the force called, sporting a sizable wound on his arm...and a Shotgun barely carried in his left hand. The tanned woman didn't miss this, striding over to bandage him up.

"We're just lucky that we have the antibody for this in our blood." she called as she tugged on the bandage, healing the newest recruit. "I shudder to think of what would happen if their bites could turn any of us."

"I could shoot any of you in the face, right now..And go to sleep soundly tonight." Raidou's voice added, already reloading his rifle. "Zombie or not...."

"Yes yes, we know you've got the biggest balls of anyone in the room." Ciela's voice called, making a chatty gesture with her hand. "Look, we're not here because of your amazing people skills..We're here because we get the job done. So, once we clear this last area, we'll be free to give the signal, and they'll carpet-bomb what we missed."

"Nnngh..Thank you." the newest member of the team called, looking at the tanned woman with a sort of respect...Someone who could keep a cool head, even when a horde was coming. Someone who knew what they were doing..and had fought in several operations before this... She had experience..and it showed in the way she constantly looked after him..Taking care of the smokers and Jockeys that tried to yank him away....And were put in their place shortly after.

"Don't worry, Geirin." the senior of the team called, with a playful smile. "We just have to power up the generators, and make it over the bridge when it lowers. This kind of thing is old hat to me...So, we'll get out with no problems."

"Ah...I hope so.." the boy called, pushing himself to his feet.

"C'mon you slowpokes! we're burning daylight! If you drag your feet like this, the bridge'll be long gone before we even get to it."

"Don't talk like that, Raidou. They're moving as fast as they can."

"Is the Bridge....really a danger?" Geirin called to Kyouji, in a hushed tone.

"Oh, the bridge will be fine." the tanned woman called, with a small smile. "The generator might need a good whack to get started...But, as soon as we fill it up with gas..It should be good to go for us all to go over."

The roar of zombies could be heard at this along with a primal yell from one of the larger ones...Signalling the start of the finale...
.A Tank was coming to crash the party in time, no doubt....So they'd have to hurry.

"I really hope it's that easy..."

Entry Title: Social Motha Effing Links, yo.

Quote:

"...hey there, kitty." Shouei knelt near the side of the road, the enormous figure whispering to a cardboard box to all outside observers. But it was late afternoon, and the last rays of light were just touching Inaba when he came upon the stray kitten someone had chosen to abandon. As he extended a finger towards the animal, it hissed slightly, the acute nose on it telling it to be weary of the half-demon in front of him. Shouei frowned when it rejected his help though, and reached into his pocket, pulling out a small snack he'd been saving for himself later. He'd hopped a train to Inaba after all, and at the station he'd grabbed some food in case he got hungry, but now he felt there was a more important use for it...even if his stomach happened to rumble in protest just about then. "You don't have a dad to look out for you either huh? ...don't worry, I'm sure you'll make it. That just means we grow up tougher than others...and..." Well, even though he was really talking to himself, Shouei decided not to finish the sentence as he felt a pang of regret. Stepping away so the kitty could eat in comfort, Shouei sighed, looking up towards the sky. He wasn't so different, since he'd taken to the streets of Tokyo for a long time to try to make his own way in the world. If he could have his way, he'd like the kitty to find a nice home. But there was no way it would embrace a demon like him...

As Shouei began to walk away, having given what little he could, he heard another voice mumbling down the street from him, back towards the kitten's location where he'd been. "...hey there little fella..."

------------------------

It was a sunny today, and Shouei had just come from a meeting with the student advisory board when he remembered the cardboard box from yesterday, and it's adorable resident. As he wandered down the same street, which was only out of his way, a small smirk appeared on his face at the thought of seeing the little guy again... He was just thinking about it when he turned the corner, and heard a pair of gruff voices that instantly put him on edge.

"Ha ha! Look at this little dork. I think it's so young it can't even walk right yet. What's wrong, lost your mommiiiie?" Almost as soon as he'd spotted the pair of delinquents, he saw one rattling the cardboard box near the telephone pole, and grit his teeth. "Come on man, if we're going to 'play' with it, we've gotta find somewhere else. If we set off fireworks in the middle of the street, everyone's going to come running." His partnered "warned", kicking his friend in the shin as he leaned down to grab the cat. That conversation was enough to set Shouei's blood boiling, as he reached into his sweater and pulled out the painted, ornate mask of the Red Oni he'd carried on him ever since the loss of his father. As Shouei put the mask on he felt his anger stilling, as he found himself in a calmer, more controlled form of rage, and walked down the street. "Alright, just give me a minute. Ah! The little s**t bit me-"

In an instant, the first thug's head slammed into the phone pole as Shouei turned, two vacant, decorative eyes on the mask staring down on the other thug. "There's no point in running..." He stated, attempting to give the thug fair warning. His advice went unheeded though as the other chose to abandon his friend, shrieking suddenly as he sprinted towards the far end of the road. In an instant Shouei whipped around, and tossed the first down the road towards his retreating friend, and he watched as the other's knees buckled under the sudden weight smacking in to him. "You think it's fun kicking an animal while it's down? That someone with their back to nothing but the pavement is an easy target? Consider this a fair, and final warning...the abandoned don't get many favors from the gods, but that doesn't make them easy prey. When someone is left powerless and alone, sometimes they find something deep inside darker than you'd imagine, just to survive. So when you try to pick on the unfortunate, you'd better be prepared...because sometimes, when we have to, we're the ones who turn into Demons." As Shouei strode towards the pair, each watched with terrified eyes as he spoke and motioned towards himself and the cat, cape blowing in the wind behind him like the terrible frame of a monster. As Shouei reached the two, he stomped on the knee of the second thug, causing him to shout out in pain, and hoisted the first up by his collar when he tried to run again. He was going to have some fun with them, until they made sure to never try something like that again...

...but before he could do too much, the screams began to attract attention. Coming out of the small, three or four person home nearby, a tall grayish haired man in a blue shirt and tie came running from the door, nearly trampling the garden to the side as he did. "Hey, what the hell's going on? Detective Dojima! Everyone stop where they are!" No sooner had he shouted though, then Shouei had ducked back down the alley he'd come from, making sure to run for it. This wasn't like Tokyo where you could get lost in the crowd...he knew that his sheer size was way too memorable, and although he wanted those bastards to pay for what they'd nearly done, a detective catching them was a suitable replacement. As he raised a hand to take off his mask though, Shouei's vision was blocked for a mere second, though in that second he accidentally bumped into someone. Stumbling to the side, mask in hand, he turned to see a tall-ish (not compared to him of course), silver haired kid about his age heading towards the street he was running from. He wanted to mutter an apology as the two locked eyes, but before he could, the sound of footsteps sprinting towards the end of the alley caught his attention. They must have told the Detective they were attacked, and he was coming after him...crap. Well then, there was nothing left for him, but to run. And run away Shouei did, fighting back the bitter sense that what he did wasn't wrong, yet knowing that if he were caught no one would understand him...no one would see his side of things. He had no friends in Inaba, and in a place like this, even right could be considered wrong sometimes...the truth he was trying to ignore gave him a gut-turning sensation.

------------------------------

It was nearly a week since he'd beat up those thugs, and instead of going back, he'd chosen not to see the kitten again. It was hard, but he knew it was for the best...probably. At least, he'd told himself that for a few days, before giving in...and the sky was already dark, despite it being only slightly after noon, but he felt that with the gloomy atmosphere maybe he could wander close to the Detective's home without being seen. It was a logic-less, senseless idea, but one he felt was worth exploring. As he turned the corner, he told himself to keep an eye out for any passerbys, but instead the first place he found himself looking despite the warning was towards the cardboard box. There he saw the same kitten from before, and after letting out a small sigh both of relief and frustration, he glanced in both directions to make sure things were clear. Kneeling down, he offered a finger towards the kitten, and got the same slightly indifferent reply as before.

He'd only been there a few minute though, when it started to rain. At first, Shouei looked up with wide eyed surprise as a few droplets fell, like a light sprinkle...but in a moment it had turned into a full downpour, and he was forced to lower his head so that his hood would protect him from the outrageous amount of rain. That's when his eyes met with the kitten's though, whose paws were over it's nose, attempting to protect it's eyes under the sudden thunderstorm and the torrential rain that was soaking it to the bone, and suddenly Shouei felt an overwhelming pang of guilt. He knew this kitten had no shelter from the weather, and here he was happy his hood protected him for the time being. A young animal with a frail immune system like this though, caught in this storm...it's chances were slim, but he had no home to offer it. In a moment, he glanced around for something to use to help, but realizing that it was impossible he suddenly grabbed the hem of his sweater, pulling it up over his head and throwing it down over the box. Maybe that could help...although the box itself was already growing weak from the water...but he had to do something. Something...

"Hey! What are you doing? Grab that kitten, and get over here! Quickly!" Shouei looked up suddenly, to see the silver haired senior from before, holding his school jacket over his head as he motioned for Shouei to bring the kitten. When the demi-human hesitated, the silverette sprinted to the box, picking up both sweater and kitten before running towards the door nearby, Shouei's eyes widening. "Look, sorry! Just follow me for a minute, alright!?" Shouei did, although he felt a swelling of nervousness as he neared the front door of the Detective's home, hesitantly stepping inside. Once they were inside though, he saw that the kitten's savior was already placing it on a clean towel near the center of the room, next to a warm kotatsu. There was a bowl of water, and other amenities, and a small girl nearby was asking if it was really alright...or rather, she seemed delighted? Shouei suddenly realized that they must have made preparations for the kitten just before the storm hit, and now they were welcoming in the straggler. For a minute, he felt like a dagger was being twisted in his chest, but at the same time he felt glad...not for himself, which was strange, but still happy in a way that, in the past, he'd rarely been.

He'd just rotated his head to look at the rest of the room though, when he felt a cold pang of guilt hit him, as he spotted the Detective sitting near their kitchen table, sipping coffee. In an instant the head of the house looked up...if he remembered the nameplate on the door, it was Detective Dojima...and instantly his eyes narrowed at Shouei. "Hey, you're that..." Shouei's blood ran cold, but before he could finish that sentence the silver haired kid held up a hand, and the adult paused right along with Shouei's desire to sprint backwards, equally confused.

"If it's okay, would you let me handle this Dojima? He's the guy I mentioned the other day. The one who found the kitten before we did. I actually had something I wanted to talk about with him, though I want to thank him first." Although it was weird listening to a high schooler talk back to his guardian (father?), Shouei could tell from Dojima's face that he trusted him, although he hesitated to give a nod of consent. But consent he did, and the silverette turned, offering him the wet hood that Shouei had used to shelter the cat a minute before. "Here, this is yours. We can dry it if you want though...ah, I'm being rude. The name's Soji Seta. And...I think this is also yours." Soji glanced over his shoulder before mumbling the last part, and shoved the demon-engraved mask into Shouei's hands under the hood. It must have fallen out when they were sitting the kitten down, and Shouei paused, his mouth nearly falling agape.

If Soji found that, and he knew from Dojima about someone beating up the thugs, then he had probably put together...and yet, he was standing here now, treating him warmly? Shouei didn't know what to say, even as he slid the mask back into the large pocket of his sweater, and hesitated. It was probably if he left now, in order to avoid causing further trouble for Soji, or the kitten that he'd been so fixated on. It had finally found a home...at least, a family who would care for it until something better came along. Having people to look after you was a rare thing in this world, and unlike Shouei who'd grown up by his lonesome in Tokyo, the kitten had a chance to truly bond with humans. If that was the case, someone like him could only cause trouble...or drag the whole group down. It was better if he left now, before something happened. And yet...now that he was inside...

"Hey, we're having some daigaku-imo for dinner, if you want to stay. Ha, actually, I insist. I never asked your name though, Mr...?" Even though he'd just turned his back to the group, Shouei froze at the offer. His whole body felt tense, like he'd just come up against an insurmountable wall, or an overwhelming demon. He only had to step outside, to go back to his carefree life. To shirk responsibility...call himself a man of the road again. He just had to take a step forward...and yet...and yet...

Shouei turned, and Soji's expression softened as he suddenly spotted what he thought was a small tear in Shouei's eye, though after a moment short enough to blink it was gone. Shouei slowly frowned, the tension in his body disappearing, and tried speaking once...and failed...before finally uttering the words a second time, though barely at an audible tone.

"I'm...Shouei. Shouei Hihi. Nice to meet you, Soji Seta."

He looked frail. He looked worse than what she had imagined, and guilt twisted her insides at the sight in front of her. His eyes were closed, the blush-color waves covering them gently; his expression was serene, unlike the pained one she had seen the day before; his body was covered in bruises that not even the bandages and covers could hide; there was a gash on his cheek that looked so deep she was afraid it would leave a scar on his pale skin; there were bandages on his wrists that hid what she could only imagine were the scars left by the wire that had pulled him up…

‘He is doing a little better Nix had said to her moments ago, when she had tiredly pushed herself off the chair beside the bed, where she had stayed all night. Minori wasn’t so sure. She stayed by the door even after Nix had left, listening to the rhythmic beeping of the machines. She was scared. This had been her fault, and there was nothing that could convince her otherwise. Even with the Shade defeated, the price had been too steep. “I am sorry Amagai-kun…” the girl finally managed, the lump in her throat making her voice squeaky and small. The girl set the small flower she had brought with her on the table beside the bed before taking a seat, looking at the tattered body of her friend. She liked to think he was her friend. While true they had known each other for a short while, and had interacted just a few times…Minori considered Amagai Genji a friend. A friend that had gotten hurt because of…

“You probably hate me right now…” Letting these feelings out was therapeutic; she couldn’t say them to him directly or speak up to any other person in the team, so this had to do. “Having seen that part of me. So pitiful. So angry. So…sad. It’s…” the girl scoffed, her hands curling into fists over her lap, her body tensing. “It’s… I don’t know what that monster did to surprise you, but… I am so sorry.” The girl stood up and rested her hand over his softly, wishing and hoping he would wake up before stepping back, giving the unconscious young man a weak smile. “I’ll come visit again tomorrow Amagai-kun. I… perhaps I can apologize correctly then.” She walked outside the room, closing the door quietly behind her.

And in the quiet, the body on the bed shifted softly.

----------

It was raining when Minori arrived at the hospital that day. Her shoulders ached and the wound on her leg stung, but she would survive. The Grand Prix had been quite an odyssey, but they had been able to get out of there alive. Genji though… he had been pulled into all of this even if he hadn’t healed entirely from the Shade attack. It had been…what? A week? A few days? Too soon. The blond hesitated at the door, listening to voices inside.

“I don’t understand how this happened. This wasn’t a simple robbery…” The voice of the woman sounded worried, as if she had asked herself those same questions over and over. The voice of Genji reached the blond’s ears then, and her heart skipped. His voice still was strained, but compared to the days before, he seemed a little stronger.

“Mother…” He sounded like he had tried soothing her times before, and Minori smiled painfully.

“Yes, all right. Well, we will be back later, yes? I will tell your grandmother you are better today. She is worried, you know?”

“Genji- “

She felt guilty, listening to this conversation, and it was in the moment that a stern voice laced with hidden worry spoke up that the blond girl pushed herself off the door, walking a few steps down the hall to wait until Genji’s parents walk out of the room. She didn’t think she could face them…even if they had no idea of what had happened in their household no more than a week ago in reality…she felt she wouldn’t have been able to keep her mask of considerate classmate coming to visit.

It wasn’t long before she heard the door opening, seeing a woman with gentle features stricken with worry followed by a tall man with an intimidating and strong aura. Those were…Genji’s parents? She had never asked him about his family…and never she had spoken about hers. She was curious, it was true…and perhaps today, she could…

The girl knocked the door softly, before opening, seeing ashen eyes with raised eyebrows, like he wasn’t expecting visitors so soon after his family had left. The blond smiled sheepishly and she saw his expression brightening too, appreciating her visit. “Hello again, Amagai kun. I wanted to …know how you were doing after, well..”

“Koroko-senpai, it is nice to see you again. It was a tiring night, but I am not doing worse than yesterday.” He answered vaguely, but she knew that he was still in pain. His wounds had been graver than theirs, and old wounds had opened again. Nix had been so worried about him, and she had told her about his condition once the fight had ended.

“Mm… Well, make sure to take it easy from now on, alright? I will make sure you don’t have to fight anything else until you are entirely healed.” There was a light tone to her voice, but there was nothing funny about what she was saying. It wasn’t a joke…she would protect him, just like she would to any other of the team.

“What about you, senpai? It was not an easy ordeal for any of us.”

“Yeah, well… Yosuke has one mean punch. No, really… I will be fine. Nothing some rest can’t take care of. I… I am more worried about Amelia. She isn’t answering my calls and last night she went on ahead without me. I worry something might have happened…” the girl answered, her eyes lowering to the floor, fidgeting where she stood. “But! I ‘ve been meaning to ask…” she continued, moving the conversation away from the night before. It had been harsh for all of them, and perhaps they could talk about something lighter. She has here, after all, to cheer him up a little. Hospitals were boring. “I saw your parents just now. Well, I think they were your parents.”

He looked at her funny, but relented, letting the topic drop. Inwardly, she thanked him for not questioning her about it, and smiled when his expression softened. Minori moved closer, taking a seat next to the bed, pulling up her bag and taking out a few oranges. Better than the cardboard food that he was given, right?

“Tell me about them. If…if that is okay. Your mother seems nice.” And your father looks terrifying, she thought.

-------------

They talked for hours. He spoke of his grandfather, how he had taught him the Gentle Fist and all the values he now followed. He talked of him with such respect and care Minori could only smile. He had loved his grandfather dearly; she could see that. He cared for his family above everything else, so it was no wonder he had been thoughtful when she asked how they were dealing with everything that was going on.

“I do not like hiding things from them.” He had mentioned with clear, ashen eyes.

Minori had talked about her own family…she had mentioned her childhood; her parents. She talked about Kazuma with a tinge of sadness and melancholy. She talked about her fight with him during the Grand Prix, and how she believed she could still save him. She had talked about her ‘new family’ and how she was so grateful for them.

They had talked for hours…and she felt right at home.

A nurse peeked her head inside the room and the girl jumped right to her feet, startled. “Oh, sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. Visit hours are about to end…The patient needs his rest.”

“Yes, of course. I hadn’t noticed it was this late. I should probably get back home.” Minori answered with a shy smile, her face flustered. “Um…Amagai-kun, thank you. This was really nice. See you soon, yes?”

“Thank you, Koroko senpai for spending this time keeping me company. It can get dull.” He smiled at her, and Minori could only giggle.

“Bye, Amagai-kun.”
She waved at him and turned, taking the door knob and pulling the door open-

“Koroko-senpai… I don’t hate you. For what happened.”

“You heard-“

“It was not your fault, Koroko-senpai. So, do not blame yourself. I see you and I see a strong person. A kind person… a good friend. So, do not blame yourself.”

She looked at him, frozen at the door, her hand still at the door knob. His face had pinked lightly at his intense words, but his gaze never left her. Even know, she had felt that guilt in her chest. Every time she saw those bandages, those stitches, his pained expression whenever he shifted and tugged at some wound…she felt awful. Knowing what he believed…knowing he didn’t blame her for this was…liberating. Like she could let out a breath she had been keeping for weeks now. Like she could forgive herself for what her Shade had done. Now she knew…

“Koroko- senp-?”

“Minori.”

“Excuse me?”

“Call me Minori.”

A small silence. She looked at him with pink cheeks and nervous eyes, and finally, he nodded with soft eyes.

“Then, use my first name as well…Minori senpai.”

A smile tugged at the corner of her lips, brightening her face. “Genji kun… thank you.”

----------------

It was at night that the boy had time to think about all those thoughts he did not care to think about. It was at night, with the lights off, and only the beeping drone of the machines to listen to, that Genji thought of his family. Of his teammates. Of the situation in town. He missed the comfortable silence of his home at this hour, the cool stream of the waterfall back in the grove after his evening training routine. He missed the dojo. He wanted to become stronger. For the team…He felt he owed them so much, and he wanted to repay them with his own strength, he wanted them to rely on him. More than anything he wanted…

A buzz distracted him from the thoughts, his ashen eyes landing on the phone on the bedside table. He reached for it, and winced as the healing skin stretched. It was not a constant pain now though, so it those were good news. The berry haired boy flipped the phone open, finding a picture of a puppy with sad eyes, wearing a scarf and a thermometer on its mouth. The legend ‘Heard you were feeling ruff. Get well soon.’ Appeared on the top of the image in bright, colorful letters. Eyebrows arched in confusion but a message appeared right after, making the heir curious.

Min
Hey. Isn’t that a cute pup? I was browsing Rumblr and saw it, and thought of you.

He smiled despite himself. The day before they had exchanged phone numbers “just in case he got bored and needed someone to talk to” as she had said with that shy and hopeful voice of hers. He had not refused, of course…Minori Koroko was the person he had seen more of these past week -aside from his family, of course- and he had learned quite a bit about her in such a short while. He had learned she blushed easily when someone mentioned the ‘Miss Yasogami Pageant’ and teased her about it. He now knew that she could throw some mean elbow jabs when those teases were too out of hand. He had also gotten to know about the darker memories she kept…her fears…her hopes. And now, he knew she was one to send strangely cute images to people at inappropriate hours.

Amagai Genji
Minori-senpai. It is 3 in the morning. What are you doing up so late?

Min
Ah! Genji kun! I didn’t know you were awake!

Min

I didn’t wake you, right? I hoped you’d see this in the morning

He shook his head, typing his response with an amused smile

Amagai Genji
No. I was awake. Do not worry about it.

Min
(=´▽`) Oh, alright

Min
I just couldn’t sleep, and well, I everyone else is asleep

Amagai Genji
Is something bothering you, Minori senpai?

Min
A-ah! No! It’s…alright, really!

Min
Heh, I can imagine you talking all properly and polite, it is cute

Amagai Genji
…I do not understand. Is this not the correct way to communicate via text?

Min
ヾ(;´▽`A“ Wha- No, no! I just...got so used to use all these emojis! Kaz and I used them so much before…perhaps I should use them less

Amagai Genji
No, I am not bothered by them. But… Minori-senpai. I apologize if it seems like a silly question, but… What do all of those symbols mean?

Min
Huh?

Min
This one? -> ヾ(;´▽`A“

Amagai Genji
Yes.

Min
Well! It is a smiley! Can’t you see it? The little eyes, and the little waving arm? And the little sweat drop?

Min
It’s like… something like this

Min
[Sent a file]

The young man clicked on the screen and could not help the laughter that escaped him. On his screen, a picture of Minori Koroko making a face that was so silly that he could never have imagined her doing. Her eyes were closed and her eyebrows knitted together in an apologetic expression, her lips in a mixture of a smile and a grimace and something else he could not exactly pinpoint. A hand was on frame too, as if waving. Her hair was disheveled, golden curls all over her face. He could only imagine she had been laying down on her bed before sitting up to take the picture. She wore a loose shirt that almost, almost slip to show the milky skin of her shoulder. He found himself staring. Even if it was silly, she was… cute.

Min
Um… please don’t use that as blackmail material.

Genji read the last text and laughed again. He was feeling…mischievous.

Amagai Genji
I promise nothing, Minori senpai.

Min
━。゚(゚´Д`*゚)゚。━ Geeeeeeeeenji kuuuuuuuuun

Min
Ah! I think I hear someone outside. I should probably turn off the lights now. Well, good night, Genji kun

Min
(人-ω-) Get some rest, yes?

Amagai Genji
Good night, Minori senpai, please do the same.

“We should celebrate you are out of the hospital.”

Her voice was cheerful, more excited than she could admit. The girl held her phone to her ear with the help of her shoulder, as her hands busied themselves with the groceries she was buying. Junes was a huge place, and in here she would find all the necessary ingredients for what she wanted to cook. Her basket was already filled with eggs, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and all other variety of ingredients for a cake. Now, her hand wavered over the frosting flavors, not knowing what was his favorite.

“Mmhm. How about tomorrow? I will bring a surprise.” She giggled at his response, deciding at the end for the chocolate one. Classic, right? There was no way of getting it wrong there. But just to make sure…

“Oh! Genji-kun… Chocolate or strawberry?” Another giggle. “Just answer! I am not telling you. Chocolate? I knew it.”

She hung up with a bright smile on her lips and butterflies on her stomach.

---------------------

Min
So, I am watching a romcom, and this couple just call each other the most ridiculous names ever

Amagai Genji
Is that so?

Min
Yeah! Like… this girl keeps calling her boyfriend ‘Winky Binky” and I can’t help cringing and laughing at the same time

Min
Just imagine it. My honey bunny boo~

Amagai Genji
Minori senpai… I was not aware we were in that stage of our friendship when pet names were acceptable. More so ones in that caliber.

Min
W-wha? No! I was just…

Min
(≧ヘ≦ ))

Amagai Genji
I am joking, of course.

Amagai Genji
Honey bear.

The blond girl was grinning like an idiot, her cheeks a deep red. She was so amused, but at the same time so embarrassed… it was a strange feeling.
“Oh no, he didn’t!”

She was giggling, typing up her answer, when a cute girl in pig tails poked her head inside her room.

“Big Sis. Who are you talking to? I can hear you giggling all the way to my room. Are you reading something funny?"

“Nanako chan!” She had surprised the blond girl, but rapidly, she regained her composure, even if it was difficult keeping her smile from widening, or her voice to crack into a giggling fit. “I am just talking to Genji kun. He told a joke, and I laughed.

“Genji kun is nice. I like his hair. It looks so soft. Like a cotton candy.” The girl lowered her eyes in thought then, and Minori tilted her head lightly. “Do you like him, Big Sis?”

The question took her off guard, and she almost dropped her phone when she tried rubbing the back of her neck sheepishly. “He really is nice, isn’t he?”

“I like him." The young girl stated with a nod, and not long after she was already outside, looking of her ‘Big Bro’. Nanako had always been too perceptive for her age, Minori concluded. The girl was able to read her moods and expressions better than most; whether she was worried, or happy, or tired…Nanako always had an answer. And when things got tense when Dojima san asked questions about new bruises or how late they had gotten back home, Nanako would always save them with her crossed arms and pouty face. ‘No fighting!’ she would say.

But yes…Nanako was right.

She did like him.

-------------

He knew he liked her when he realized his heart beat faster each time the phone vibrated with a new message from her.

---------------

She had let the suffix slip that one time, and he couldn’t stop thinking about it. The day had started with their usual conversation via texts, and he had been content answering, teasing, enjoying the moment. She had suggested having lunch together, and he had just the place for it in mind. Now in the Floodplains, he found himself short of breath, and it was not entirely because of the race they had just run. She looked…beautiful in that moment. There was a rosy color to her cheeks, and her emerald eyes were bright and playful. Her laughter was light, youthful, even if she was just teasing him for losing the race just then. And her hair seemed to glimmer on the sun, making her look like…well, a Golden Princess.

He reacted on instinct on that moment, his hands moving to clasp her sides, gently pushing her until her back was against the wooden frame of the gazebo. She had gone silent in an instant, her expression turning to one of hopeful confusion and bashfulness, her breath caught in her throat. He could see it in her eyes how she was thinking furiously, her face turning redder with each second. God, he wanted to kiss her in that instant.

"You're not a very gracious victor, are you...?" his lips curled into a tiny smile, an intense look in his eyes easing slightly...finding hers once more and holding them, as he let the distance between the two of them ease away. He could feel her shaky breath against his lips, tickling her eyes fluttering close as she leaned closer...until there was nothing left between his lips and hers, a soft and purposeful kiss...his very first, as it happened. He needed to let her know that he felt this way. And so he kissed her, ceasing her childish teasing with something a little more deep...a little more meaningful.

She responded tentatively…tenderly, gently and he knew in that instant that she felt that same way. When their lips parted, she was breathless, and it took everything in him not to kiss her again. He needed her to know…how he felt first. He needed her to know this was not a whim, a one-time occurrence. If…she wanted it, that was.

"Minori-senpai, that was," he paused, choosing his words carefully for a moment...the hesitation not one born out of nerves, but out of practiced caution. He wanted to choose just the right words to convey what that kiss had meant to him...and what she meant to him, as well. "That...was what you mean to me. Your friendship, and our conversations...they have become irreplaceable. As are you. Whatever else you might suspect of me, of my sudden actions, I should at least tell you that much."

He saw her smile brighter than ever, her cheeks a pretty pink. She had gotten close to him, her fingers nervously fidgeting with his hand as she made up the thoughts in her mind. She looked up at him with lovely emerald eyes, and he knew he was not wrong. This girl…he wanted to protect her. He wanted to keep her close.

“You really are special to me, Genji...kun. And this is...all this means...so much to me. You mean so...much and...I like you...and...um..."

She didn’t finish, but he understood what she had wanted to say as their lips pressed together for a second time.

They had an unbreakable bond…and he would cherish it for the rest of his life.

GuildLympics Prize Selection!

RPer Name: Necromonium
Character Name: Ayano Kyuta
Prize Selection: Space-Age Weapon
Effects:

RPer Name: Hibarii_Chan
Character Name:
Prize Selection: Mystery Box: Uravity Boots
Effects: A strange set of white boots with pink trim that grant the user a surprising special ability: whenever they touch their fingers to the Uravity Boots, gravity will be temporarily disabled upon the boots and the wearer...allowing them to float in mid-air, leap into the sky and never come down, or other creative uses. This also applies to any load which the wearer of the boots carries, though passing a certain threshold of mass will strain the user to the point of exhaustion and nausea, and thus is not recommended. Gravity can be reactivated for the wearer of the boots by uttering the word 'Release', causing whatever is floated by the Uravity Boots to return to the Earth as weight will be restored to them.

RPer Name: Rednal
Character Name: Aselia Bluespirit
Prize Selection: Forbidden Scroll
Effects: Sunlight Style: Ascending Pillar of Light! (Better known as "Heroes...Eventually Die!" [A unique technique learned from a Forbidden Scroll from the Village Hidden Beneath the Sun. This technique harnesses the energy of the sun and transfers it into a power which flows through the entire body of the user and increases their speed, attack, and durability by 25% when cast for the next 3 turns. When used, a visible set of pure light wings sprout from the back of the user and allow for swift flight on a straight line track in a forward direction, and the ability to slowly float towards the ground when falling instead of a more heavy, destructive descent. Where the technique gets its colorful namesake, however, is the coup de grace...when at the end of the third turn of combat after activation, the user can launch themselves at an enemy and by raising their hand towards the sky, release all of the stored energy that powered them in a massive, cylindrical pillar around said target enemy which reaches all the way into the clouds (and perhaps, further beyond). This pillar of light surrounds and burns the enemy for Severe Light Damage with a 1/3 chance of inflicting burns. Technique can be activated again 3 turns after the 'release' of the technique.]
