I will be updating this with details regarding details of the famous Glory Days...
Mr. Invincible is considered the father of all heroes and the greatest of them all. Famous for his godly strength, flight, excellent costume and color scheme (black, gray, and gold), “i” insignia, he set the precedent of which later generations followed. His beliefs centered around a hero’s duty to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves, no matter the cost to oneself. He advises heroes not to kill, because he who swore to protect life was obligated to protect [all] life. He’d been around from 1962 to 1981, before announcing that his days of fighting were over and that newer heroes would take his place. His secret identity was never revealed. Having spent 19 years of his life dedicated to protecting the weak, he’s revered for all his sacrifices. A statue of him was erected in Jackson Park in 1995 to commemorate his service.
Captain Cosmo, the alias of Theodore “Teddy” Morrison, was a largely-publicized hero. An astronaut-in-training by the time of the famous Chicago Experiment, he’d awoken from a coma believing himself to be in a room without gravity. He soon discovered it wasn’t a lack of gravity, but that he was levitating everything around him with telekinesis. He was among the first heroes, having been around from 1962 until he was killed by his former protégé, Darkstar (formerly his trusted sidekick Starboy), who’d turned to villainy in 1977. Cosmo himself is one of the only two people ever to defeat Miss Nemesis, the second being Silent Knight. Cosmo was, like Silent Knight, impervious to her mind control and had been an equal in Telekinesis.
The Dynamic Duo consisted of sisters Betty and Anna Comely (dubbing themselves Betty Bombshell and Anna Atomic), sisters who claimed to have been investigating uranium samples during the time of the Chicago Experiment. They never actually referred to themselves as anything more than “The Dynamic Duo” until revealing their actual identities in 1970. They’d been around from 1965 to 1978. They referred to their powers as “nuclear manipulation”, later confirmed by those who discovered apparent radiation upon using their powers. Their primary enemy was the Molting Man, who they’d “killed” on numerous occasions, only for him to return again. Anna died of cancer in 1978, as the radiation from their powers surprisingly killed her despite not affecting Betty. Betty herself retired that same year because of her sister’s death.
Silent Knight, is a famously mute hero who was around from 1987 to 2002. While his powers were never fully confirmed, he received his alias due to his inability to produce any sound (believed to be a form of sound nullification). He was a crime fighter who primarily operated at night, donning a white and black costume with a faceless mask and hooded cloak that reinforced his stealth and air of mystery. While they wouldn’t die, criminals would find themselves unconscious without hearing so much as a sound. He was therefore believed to be a stealthy hand-to-hand combatant whom used only his fists and the element of surprise. He was known to have been romantically involved with Olympia.
Despite his reputation for being very elusive, he has a very colorful array of rumors about him. Among them is that he’s much more vigilant during Christmas, at which point crime in the city is significantly less abundant, even long after he’d reportedly “vanished” in 2002. Another is that he’s especially fond of children, and doesn’t take kindly to people whom try to harm them. A common joke is that criminals frequently check all the corners and crevices of their rooms, fearful that he is there. Many still believe that their speechless protector is still there, silently guarding over them, and a mysterious shadow in the dead of night still brings hope to the good and fear to the wicked.
Minuteman was the name used by former paraplegic athlete, Jack Curtis. He emerged in 1988, sporting a blue and grey ensemble complete with a mask that had detachable goggles, retaining a secret identity until choosing to reveal himself in 1988. He’d fought many villains such as Lioness, the Molting Man, Snowstorm, and Titan. Jack defeated all of them, with the exception of Titan, who cruelly broke both of Minuteman’s legs in 1991. The inability to run weighed heavily on Jack, and he sunk into a deep depression, before eventually committing suicide on the first day of 1992. He had been dating Olympia prior to his handicap, and though she left him when his life went into a downward spiral, his suicide is believed to be the reason she killed Titan.
Criss-Cross, also known as Dwight Goodwin, was one of the most beloved heroes of his time. He had Matter Absorption, allowing him to assume the qualities of anything he touched. He surfaced a year before Olympia, and worked frequently with other heroes in team-ups. What made him so respected was that, even after the Glory Days came to an end, he voluntarily helped in other ways, remaining a hero through and through. He died in 2012 of unknown causes.
Olympia, also known as Susan Isley or “Chicago’s Golden Girl”, is a well-adored superheroine of the second generation of superheroes. Like Mr. Invincible, she also possessed superhuman strength and flight. Her personality and screen presence made her especially popular, easily becoming the most popular superhuman woman in the world. Her career as a superhero is longstanding, having left an impressive history, but the first years she spent as a caped hero was from 1988 to 1998. She lives on as a celebrity figure.
Nemesis is often regarded as the greatest supervillain of all time, even being remembered as Mr. Invincible’s greatest foe. Her psionic powers, famously telepathy and telekinesis, made her a force to be reckoned with. She first appeared in 1964, where she forced various policemen to kill one another in the open streets as a vicious display of savagery. Mr. Invincible and Captain Cosmo would go on to be the first supers to fight her. Had it not been for Captain Cosmo, she would have been the first to defeat Mr. Invincible, and is known for the closest to ever do so. Despite being defeated, she escaped confinement, making numerous other appearances throughout the years, escaping each time. As vengeance for her defeat by Captain Cosmo in 1964, she used her telepathic powers to root out his sidekick’s envy for his teacher in 1977, causing Starboy to turn evil and become Darkstar, effectively murdering Captain Cosmo. In 1985, she’d suppressed Blue Devil’s fearful alter ego, allowing the devilish brute to rampage throughout Chicago, before disappearing the year after.
Blue Devil, whom was around from 1983 to 1986, was a unique villain whom possessed a split personality. His birth name was Alvin Akerman, and he was a villain who managed to retain a secret identity for some time, though it was unintentional. Alvin was a quiet, awkward male, though he was notably pious and antisocial. While he appeared frail and harmless in one personality, his other was less than pleasant. His alter ego, the Blue Devil, possessed a belief that he was Satan incarnate and altered him physically. Blue Devil, as his namesake described, made his skin take on a blue tint, two large horns forming on his head. He was a large, 7’ 5” male with an overwhelmingly muscular form. His strength was rumored to match or near that of Mr. Invincible’s. He would rampage on, and would’ve been regarded as a much bigger threat had he not constantly fled when Alvin resurfaced. Olympia was only able to minimize the damage up until Silent Knight exposed who Alvin really was and got him imprisoned.
Darkstar began his career as Captain Cosmo’s sidekick in 1975 under the alias Starboy. The two would enjoy two years in a respected partnership, facing off against the likes of Miss Nemesis until she’d successfully managed to find him alone and corrupt him. He had the power to manipulate light, most easily directly from the sun, which he could store inside himself and release as powerful blasts, simulate flight, or provide himself with his own protective aura. In a battle between himself, Captain Cosmo, and Miss Nemesis, he turned on his master, blasting and killing Cosmo from behind. It was then that he took up the name Darkstar, and would continue to plague Chicago as a villain all the way up until 1995 when he vanished. In his new role as a villain, he’d improved the channeling of light tenfold, even mastering his own body’s ability to absorb it, leeching it to such an intensity, that surrounding light (including the visible light he emitted), appeared dark. A foe he regularly fought with was Criss-Cross, whom was regarded as his nemesis.
Mad Manta, a hero-turned-villain, began his career in 1984 under the name Sea Guardian. Travis Quade was only a hero for 2 years, and he only took on smalltime crooks. The lack of appreciation, coupled with ridicule over his “crappy” sea-based powers (control over water and ability to compel sea creatures to do his bidding) made him turn to villainy. As a villain, people began to fear him. He terrorized the west coast of the United States, viciously drowning fishermen and tourists alike. His reign of terror came to an end once Olympia clashed with him that same year. In 1995, he gathered a team of villains composed of himself, Darkstar, Spitfire, Lioness, Snowstorm, and the Molting Man. Together called “The Savage Six”, they endeavored to drown Chicago but were ultimately defeated by the combined efforts of Olympia, Silent Knight, Criss-Cross, and Betty Bombshell, who had briefly stepped out of retirement.
Namazu was the alias of Japanese-American fisherman Nakazo Hashimoto. Namazu was famously mad, believing he was the actual Japanese deity of where he took his namesake. He emerged in 1989, where he fought Olympia. Namazu was classified as a geokinetic supervillain, capable of manipulating the earth around him, often in the form of violent tremors. He’d been responsible for a series small, but powerful tremors that plagued Chicago over the course of three months, before revealing himself on camera where he claimed he would cleanse the city of its greed. Olympia arrived to fight him, where he proceeded to launch a 340 ton boulder at her, though she caught it. Terrified and believing her to be the god Kashima whom would throw the stone at him like in the myths, he swiftly surrendered. When Namazu refused to join Mad Manta in his attempt to drown Chicago in 1995, Mad Manta proceeded to drown him instead.
Lioness is a renowned cat burglar with cat-like powers. Her secret identity is Mai Hosny, a mundane museum worker who, upon gaining her powers, took on a double life, becoming the Lioness at night.

Panzer, also known as Stefan Visscher was a supervillain of the early 1960s. Surprisingly, he received his powers in prison at the age of 54, during his sentence for serving the Duquesne Spy Ring as a Nazi spy. Visscher obtained superhuman strength and nigh invulnerability, and was the closest thing to a physical equal for Mr. Invincible. As Panzer, he would go on to fight individuals such as Captain Cosmo, Mr. Invincible, and the Dynamic Duo, defeating all but Mr. Invincible. While in prison, Mr. Invincible visited him and the two spoke, the caped hero even managing to convince Visscher to take a new leaf. Visscher was released early in 1968, where he would go on to lead an honest life (even using his powers as a hero on some occasions) up to his death in 1973.
Kunfudemoness:
Medic Also named Francis Capitani. Remaining active till the 1980s. His powers are Energy Redirection. He could drain energy from one and give it to another. He worked in support with other heroes as a battlefield medic hence the name, giving energy to heroes in long battles. He ended up marrying Mistress Psy and started a family. Becoming a father prompted him to retire to care for his son. He kept in touch and started a small clinic for superhumans where he would continue his work. He retired in early 2000s to enjoy his later years.
Mistress Psy Also named Katherine Capitani (Dunbar). She remained active till her marriage with Medic and the birth of her son Antonio. Her powers include mind reading and manipulation. She worked on the front lines of combat and found herself in need of Medic’s care constantly. Eventually the two fell in love and retired together to start a family. She retired to civilian life to raise their son. She grew to like the quite civilian life but helped when she was needed at her husband's clinic.

The Timeline of The Four Horsemen (May be subject to expansion)
1962: Leon Sault, Jude Morton, David Keller, and Sylvia Parks first encounter each other in a bank briefly before it is burglarized. They all separately pursue the thieves and meet again when they converge to stop them. The four part on good terms. The four meet again a month later, inspired by recent developments in society (such as various heroes rising) and decide to form a team together to fight crime. Three months pass of successful crime fighting but the team has no unity. They fight together but for themselves. The issue comes to a head and they all agree to begin working together as a singular force rather than four individual heroes trying to get famous. The four take on the team name The Four Horsemen. They choose monikers and begin developing a hideout underneath an old warehouse. Officially the hideout is called Purgatory. A space where the Horsemen could relax, train, and investigate.
1963: Leon Sault is paralyzed in a fight with a villain known as Morbus. The team realizes that they have gone too public and should refocus on fighting the fights that heroes like Mr. Invincible would never see. They also begin to establish the successor system. Leon Sault's role as Azrael is reduced to a consultant role. He runs tests and offers leads but leaves field work behind. The Four Horsemen become three.
1963: Leon is hospitalized after complications with his spinal cord emerge as a result of whatever Morbus did to him. His family become bitter towards the rest of the team and resentful. Leon is forced to officially leave the team as a result of his condition. His body continues to deteriorate slowly. Morbus is captured and incarcerated. The remaining three Horsemen begin looking for Leon's successor. They also begin to develop a collection of souvenirs from their various enemies.
1966: The collection has grown to include Bloodstone, Brightside, Amendial, The Hornet, and Mr. Nemesis (A weak telepath imitating Miss Nemesis). Morbus escapes from prison and the Horsemen are unable to find him during the fallout. They begin a hunt for Morbus but there are no notable trails. Purgatory is attacked by several dozen mindless citizens with black veins spread throughout their bodies. The Horsemen manage to defeat them and bring them to the same hospital Leon is being treated at. The Horsemen are forced to form a new base. The Stable is built. Leon Sault's infection manifests in full. His body disappears. The doctors claim that he passed away in his sleep but Sylvia is not convinced. She begins a side investigation without telling the team. 1971: An infected Leon Sault begins attacking the members of the Horsemen in their homes. He attacks David Keller first and David, unprepared, is killed in the fight. Jude and Sylvia prepare themselves for an attack but it doesn't come. Sylvia tells Jude about her investigation and Jude joins it. Jude and Sylvia try to keep the team functioning but it is difficult with only the two of them. The Horsemen fall into a dark period where they attempt to hunt down Leon Sault. They bring in Richard Shaw as the new Azrael but David's replacement is unwilling to take the mantle after hearing what happened to her mentor. Leon Sault begins attacking the families of the Horsemen. No one is killed but many family members are hospitalized. The Horsemen are always one step behind Leon.
1975: Richard Shaw catches Leon trying to kill Sylvia while she sleeps and captures Leon. They try to figure out what happened to him and draw connections to the horde that attacked Purgatory but Leon's body begins to deteriorate into a black slime before they can figure it out.
1977: The Horsemen track down Morbus and figure out that he is behind the infections. They fight, Richard is wounded and infected but Morbus is once again arrested. This time the Horsemen ensure that he is held in a maximum security prison. He does not escape again. The Horsemen fear for Richard's health and develop a cure for Morbus's disease using his blood. Richard is cured.
1980: The Horsemen return to the status quo doing the work that the world needs them to do without any overarching issues for a long time. Various heroes team up with the Horsemen over a few years to keep the number at four members but ultimately the heroes return to their own lives.
1984: Jude and Sylvia recruit new successors and begin to train them. After more than 20 years as vigilantes they want to retire. Richard begins looking for his successor and a replacement for David who's role on the team was left empty for years.
1988: Richard begins to feel lingering effects of Morbus's disease. He becomes less effective in the field but blames it on aging and not the disease. Sylvia and Jude believe him. Owen Hunt is recruited to be the next Azrael after Richard Shaw's illness begins taking a major toll on his abilities. Richard hides it well so no one notices.
1990: Owen Hunt, Annabel Grey, Alice Sitwell and Mathis McLeod take over the mantles of the Four Horsemen and the team is stronger than ever before.
1996: The collection of souvenirs from villains is labeled "The Gallery" by Alice and it grows larger as the Horsemen continue their work. They expand their operation to all of America but stay centered in Chicago.
2007: The Gallery had grown to include Obsidian, The Jester, Royal Pain, Meteor, Shiver, Shaman, Silk, Cobra, The Magnet, Ironeye, Red Baron, Splicer, Megadrone, Gazerbeam, Universal Man, Psycwave, Everseer, Macroburst, Phylang, Blazestone, and several others.
2008: Mr. Fraus takes note of the Horsemen. Their work leads to the arrest of many of his ground level informants, dealers, smugglers, hitmen, extortioners, producers, and cleaners.
2010: The Horseman Purge wipes out all but Owen Hunt and Annabel Grey. Annabel retires to live with her husband and daughter. Owen falls into a depression and begins killing enemies as opposed to arresting them. His work becomes more ruthless and efficient.
2012: Annabel Grey is murdered by Priest. Owen Hunt recruits Andrea Grey and Samuel Shaw to being reforming the Horsemen. Along with Andrea they attack and presumably kill Mr. Fraus. In secret, Fraus survives the attack and allows them to believe he is dead.
