As other heroes now rushed to the scene to intervene, Diana was stricken with the burden of her responsibility. Seeing the vicious beating Hal Jordan incurred at the hands of the powerful Kryptonian was a sure enough sign that her relative power would be essential to taming this rampaging Superman. The city needed her strength. Now the pressure was on to not only subdue the earth’s most powerful hero, but to protect the other heroes from him as well. “Enough of this madness, I won’t allow it.” Diana abandoned her efforts to control the chaos. No more damage control, no more defensive strategies. She was losing ground trying to clean up the mess. The time for passivity had long passed. Like a hawk, she rounded on Superman, her fierce blue gaze honing sternly in on him as she hovered above him in the smoky sky. This was not the man of steel that earth knew. She had been a blind fool not to see it before.
She sped down to his level where he faced the other heroes, and without ceremony or hesitation, Wonder Woman lifted the burnt husk of a fallen jet plane from the crumbled pavement and threw it with immense force, straight at Superman. Her face was a mask of ruthless determination. Without stopping, Diana rushed to continue her assault in earnest.
She heaved a partially melted and abandoned National Guard tank into the air, her muscles taught and flexed with the effort of balancing its massive weight over her head.
“You are not the Superman that I know, but I fear no man and I will bring you to heel! SUBMIT!” she called out with authority and anger before rising into the air and hurling it too at the man of steel, seeking to at least stun him under 66 tons of her unrelenting wrath.

Starro-Superman's attention kept on the heroes who seemed to increase in numbers. Underneath the bluish creature attached to his face was a grimace. He knew now who to strike first. Preparing to leap off his left heel was he stopped only by the sound and collision of a jet sending him into some nearby debris. The blow resounded like thunder, blood spewing from between his teeth. Little did he know something else had been in store for him to follow. He was in the middle of finding his footing when the shadow of a tank eclipsed his position crushing him.
Superman was still after the collision, his eyes clinched tightly closed as his nerves screamed and muscles throbbed. His chest felt clouded as though his ribs have been shattered and his lungs were but a busted mess within him. He needed time to recover. That few seconds being enough to restore the hero's strength with one last burst of vigor. Instantly, his eyes flashed open glaring with fury as he threw his left fist out towards the monster's face. His sledgehammer blows strong enough to hopefully repel the creature off him, and allow him to gain some space for error.
“You are not the Superman that I know, but I fear no man and I will bring you to heel! SUBMIT!”
The voice was hollow from where he was but the Starro and Superman heard her very clearly, whoever this woman had been. The Starro remembered her. She was the one he sent packing before. And now she returned looking to continue their fight. This time the organism would not be so kind as to to knock her away like a gnat. Superman forced himself to his feet. His body was hunched over with his right hand clutching his chest that still pained him. His strength had been unmatched until today. And although he was not in control he felt the blows just as if he were fighting himself.
"Keep...up..the..atta..cks. It's w..eakening...it." Superman grunted out. Feeling himself regain more and more control while the Starro's lessened. It would need to find a new host if he was on the brink of death and for earth and it's people--Superman would happily give his life.

A sudden pain would surge through the man of steel's mind as the Starro parasite latched onto his skull even tighter. It was a shocking neurological pain that would light his nerves on fire. The image of an armored figure would appear at the fore of the kryptonian's mind. He was a malevolent entity, face shrouded in a silhouette , a pair of crimson orbs burning fiercely from within the helm . Who are you, to deny me? The figure demanded to know, pain accompanying every word as the parasite forced it's will over the man of steel's own. The man of steel would find his mind start to meld with the collective that was Starro. One link in an ever expanding hive mind as the Starro parasites continued to spread across the planet. Hundreds of humans would fall prey to the mind controlling creatures, and with each that fell victim another soldier was added.
There would be no will, no emotion, no love or hate. Starro took all of this but in exchange offered peace and harmony. He offered a world without war or bloodshed. Only eternal order. And all that stood in his way were agents of chaos and havoc. Such as the Amazon that now stood against Superman and therefore starro.

Hal had it all planned out. He'd fly out to Metropolis, handle the world's impending alien problem, and be on his way back to Ferris Air to continue his day of work. Unfortunately it just wasn't and wouldn't be that easy. Hal was thrown around like a toy all about through the air with no care as to whether he lived or died while facing the brunt of Superman's onslaught. As he slammed into the ground, Hal flew off in the opposite direction as quick as the impact came but landed not too far off, the pain proving too much to ignore. Oh you've done it now, Hal. He thought as he rubbed the side of his head. Big Blue's attention seemed to be turned on the amassing group of other heroes. One in a scarlet red, the others in darker shades of green and black, followed by a beautiful woman who seemingly rivaled Superman in strength. He's been to several alien worlds all over, conversed with little blue men in Pope like clothing, but he sure as hell wasn't ready for that.
As Hal began to stand upright, he swore he saw him fighting the urge to attack them all, as if it wasn't entirely him in the first place. Then again, that creature resting atop his face was strangely abnormal. For a guy with good features (not as good as Hal's at least), he in the first place why he wanted to cover it up.
"Keep...up..the..atta..cks. It's w..eakening...it."
"Can do!" Hal shouted from his position as he shot forth into the air, pointing his emerald ring towards their unlikely opponent. Emerald chains shot forth, surrounding Superman, attempting to cover up his chains and arms. As much as he wanted to beat his head in for the blows he took to his own face, Hal realized how important it was to rid him of that thing. "Someone get his other arm and go to town on that thing. I don't if I can hold him down alone." He could feel his arm already straining against his super strength, practically tugging him as he hovered above.
