Kae stepped into the interrogation room, cold eyes set upon the purple haired meta, barely conscious as he drowsily looked up at her.
”…k-..”
She reached back and punched him hard in the face, knocking his clear to the floor. She waved her hand a little bit from the blow, but she was only beginning to warm up. ”Tell us where Zaku is going to be. Where is the next hideout?” she asked in a low voice, stern and anger boiling just below the surface.
He just laid there, refusing to say anything.
Kae stared down at him angrily. ’Say something, you idiot.’ ”Tell us where the next base is.” she demanded again, her voice louder. She watched as he lay there as she began to grit her teeth in anger. ’Why are you staying quiet. Say something!’
”…obviously not going to tell you…”
Kae narrowed her eyes fiercely, ’Idiot!’ Her face completely unchanged as she moved her hand to wave someone in the window, not even turning to look at them as the door opened and someone from outside slid a tub of water into the room and closed the door. Kae stared at Lucian for a few moments. ’Say something!!’ She calmly turned and walked over to the tub and slid it towards Lucian. ”We can obviously do this the easy way.. or the hard way. You make that choice, Lucian.” she spoke calmly, but rigidly. She waited for a response. Almost for a full minute, letting him mull over his decisions in his mind.
”….do your worst…”
Kae took a stifled breath, keeping completely still as she pushed back her emotions hard. ’Why…. Why are you still fighting? Just give up!’ ”So be it…” She took a step towards him and grabbed him by the hair, forcing him to a kneel and dunked his head under the water, watching him struggle against her grip violently, but holding him there against his will. She counted in her mind, then pulled his head up suddenly. ”Tell me where the next base is!”
Lucian gasped for air and coughed violently. ”….no…”
Kae clenched her teeth angrily, ’Make something up you idiot!’ She dunked his head back down into the water, repeating the same process, holding him there for two extra seconds. Pulling him up again, ”TELL ME!”
Lucian coughed even more as he tried desperately to cling to air, his heart racing from his own fear playing against him, panic had set in a long time ago as it was only now beginning to show, and fast. His face pained as he whimpered lightly. ”… [address]…”
A slight bit of relief hit her but then was quickly overtaken with dread, keeping her face harsh as she narrowed her eyes and gripped him tighter. ”Good… now if you tell the truth about the parley, I’ll consider letting you breath for a while.” she spoke coldly, her voice like steel as she watched him carefully.
Lucian looked to her suddenly, eyes widening slightly, ”..the truth?.. we didn-“ he didn’t even have time to finish his sentence before water rushed his face again, trying to hold his breath as long as he could, the time only increasing. Terror coursing through his veins as his lungs threatened to give out, to inhale, to breathe. Just before he was at his limit, she pulled him back again. His voice was becoming hoarse as he coughed, crying out now. ”Stop!!”
”Then tell the truth!!” ’…please…’ her heart hurt so much by now but she remained vigilant to her actions.
Lucian shook his head reluctantly, choking back another cry as he was completely drenched now.
’God dammit Lucian!!’ She repeated it again, bring him dangerously close to completely drowning him as she pulled him out against, getting close to him. ”…tell them… the truth..” she said in a low demanding voice.
”..we….. I did it…. I used my powers to port him there, and to kill him… I was the one who killed [Criel]…” his voice was strained through gasps of air, tears in his eyes that were masked by water droplets on his face as he choked back another quiet sob.
Kae leaned back a bit from him and frowned, ”…Don’t lie to me now, Lucian… Surely you weren’t the only one… You are all a team after all. A family. Did you truly act alone? Or was it a team effort… a whole plan wrapped up in a neat little bow?” her voice was soft now, taunting even as she spoke.
”….….family….. yes.. we are family… and we always will be…” his body drooped slightly in defeat, malleable in her hand.
Kae felt her heart sink as she heard those words. That comment wasn’t just for the renegade. ”I’m glad we reached an understanding on the truth.” She felt him nod in agreement as her grip loosened slightly. ’I’m so sorry, Lucy.’ He was already closing his eyes tightly, ready, as she reluctantly dunked his head into the water, keeping him held there until there was no fight left in him. His body going limp as she pulled him up and threw his body back onto the ground and waved the standby doctors in. She watched them resuscitate him while injecting him with something. As soon as he was breathing again she slid her eyes to the doctors directly. ”Leave him. I’ll be back if we need more.”
