A Supreme Guide to The Marketplace by JustaTrashCan
Vendingthe process of buying an item and selling it for higher, therefore making a profit.
Some things to keep in mind when buying items entirely for the purpose of selling are:
•Tax. There's a 5% tax, so remember to calculate that into things that you may be making a small profit on to begin with.
•Average Buy Price. While the ABP isn't always accurate, it's usually close to it. If you're selling an item for a significant amount higher than the ABP, don't be too surprised if your item doesn't sell.
•Sales Volume. It's always important to research how often an item sells before even buying it. Usually items with a higher sales volume will sell quicker than ones with a smaller one.
Here's an example of item where if you were to buy the lowest listings, you'd make a clear and significant profit margin.
So, if you buy the items for 79,999,999gg total and resell both for 149,999,999gg each (totalling 299,999,998gg), there's a profit of 219,999,999gg before tax.
Once the 5% tax is factored in, your profit will be 204,999,999gg.
To factor in the 5% tax to an item, take the price you'll be selling the item for, and multiply it by .05 to get your takeaway from the sale.
Often, stores selling multiple more expensive items will provide users with the option to send them a labelled trade for a 1%-5% discount, as when you're getting into the hundreds of billions, even 1% is a large sum of gold.
TradingTo start a Trade with another user, you hover over the Forums tab directly under your Avatar and go down to Search, then click.
Type in the desired username, hover over the drop down menu under their Avatar, and click the Trade option. It should be the 8th option down.
Once there, click Start New Trade, and you should find yourself here-
From here you can change the name of the Trade, add items and gold, or cancel the Trade.
To change the name of a Trade, click on the Change icon and type in the new desired name.
There's a 50 character limit, so make sure to keep it concise.
The purpose this serves is so the person you're sending the Trade to will know why if you haven't spoken to them directly prior.
To add an item to a Trade, simply click on it. To remove it, click on it again.
Once an item is removed from a Trade, you can find it in the Removed Tab, which can only be accessed from the Trade you're currently in. Items placed there will not vanish from your Inventory, and the Tab's purpose is purely for organizational purposes.
If you wish to add gold to a Trade, click the box next to the Gold icon found near your Avatar and type in the desired amount.
To Send your Trade, simply type in your Password and click Offer.
To Cancel a Trade, simply type in your Password and click Cancel.
WatchlistItems that you bid on in the Marketplace can be found under your Watchlist.
The time remaining, the current Highest Bidder, and the Price will be found next to the item.
When you are Outbid, you will receive a Private Message notifying you of such, and all your gold will return to your possession.
Once an auction is over, the highest bidder will win the item and the status of the item will change on your Watchlist from showing a time to simply displaying the word Expired.
