[[Cavern Wolves Prompts, each paragraph is a response to one of the points]]
Dimitri's life had flashed before his eyes many times today. For a moment it seemed like time had stopped. There he was, running for his life again with three wolves about to rip him to pieces. But just when it seemed he was about done for, that hound came rushing back again! It seemed as if it was going to try to take on the wolves on it's own! Dimitri thought to stop and help but he knew there was no point, he was just a weak kid what could he possibly do? He just knew he had to trust the hound and keep running, so he did.
Finally Dimitri reached the steep slope they had come down and he scrambled up into the area where all the stalagmites had fallen. He looked back down in hopes of seeing that golden hound right behind him. The faint glow of the fungi allowed him a glimpse of the wolves retreating and the hound: alive! But not unharmed: the poor thing was limping and struggling to get up the incline. Dimitri slid back down and despite his fear of being bitten by the strange hound he reached forward and lifted it up, using all of his strength. After an arduous struggle they were safely out of the tunnel and for the moment: harm's way. The hound licked his wounds and cast a thankful look at Dimitri. He pat the hound gently on the head, "you saved my life back there, friend!" he said as ripped off a piece of his shirt and wrapped it around a large gash on the hound's leg, "Let's get out of here, okay?"
He could hardly see anything at this point, the fungi seemed to be dimmer now and there was hardly any light in the cave. "I-I'll let you lead," Dimitri stammered to the hound, "your eyes are probably better than mine." The hound appeared to understand because he immediately stood up and took a few steps, looking back to check if Dimitri was following. This whole thing had been so crazy but every time he communicated with this hound he felt so.....happy. His guts told him that this was someone he could really rely on.
Dimitri's guts must have been right because it took little time for the hound to lead him to the entrance of the cave; the hound seemed to know the path by heart. As they finally stepped out into the daylight Dimitri's eyes adjusted to the light and there it was: the other hound from earlier, standing at a fork in the forest path! "Were these two working together towards some goal? What is going on here?!" And just like that both the hounds were off in a flash again, and of course, in different directions. He had so badly wanted to meet that other hound too but there was no way he was going to let that golden hound go off on his own all injured like that! So without much deliberation he took off after the golden hound, towards the left.
By the time he caught up with the hound, the sun was going down and they were nearly back to the carnival. Dimitri let out a sigh of relief as he recounted how many times he'd been lucky today and narrowly escaped death. He looked down at his new friend, the source of all this mischief, and somehow he felt only happiness. He could have been angry about all the danger he'd been led into. But he knew, and he wasn't sure how, but he knew that the hound had only good intentions. He trotted happily as they walked back into the carnival together. "Hey, have you ever tried funnel cake? I could really go for some right about now, how about you?" he said to the hound, who licked his lips in reply. "Alright well let's go get some! My treat for saving my life and all," he chuckled.

WINNERS! Last Round Point Breakdown Points were randomly generated, so I had no influence!
Cavern Puddle ◘ The cold water and the damp air have the hound shivering. You might be cold yourself, and might even have found a method of drying yourself. Do you share your resources with the hound (2pts), or allow the hound to solve its own problem (1pt)? ◘ The ground is wet, and rather slippery! The hound isn't careful enough, and looses its footing, sliding right down another hole! It's not a far drop, but the hound seems to move with a slight limp now. Do you drop down to help (1pt), or wait for the hound to find its way back (2pts)? ◘ The glowing fungi are no longer in abundant supply, and your field of vision is low. The hound seems dazed and lost, but doesn't stop. Do you allow it to continue directing (1pt), or take the lead yourself (2pts)? ◘ Finally, you're free of the cave, and back in the forest! The other hound waits for your arrival at the exit, standing at a fork in the path. It starts down the right path, and you're certain it looks familiar (1pt)...but the hound you've shared such an experience with starts down the left (2pts). Which do you trust? ◘ Eventually, as dusk approached, you reach the edge of the forest, and the carnival is in sight. It looks just as you left it; alive, jovial, and safe. Free of wild animals and thorny underbrush! You hear your friends calling for you in the distance; you could run toward their welcome voices, leaving the hounds behind (2pts), or you can approach together, returning as you left, with a new friend in tow (1pts).
Cavern Wolves ◘ As you flee, the hound you follow stops to confront the wolves, allowing you a chance of escape. But the wolves outnumber the courageous hound, and it's in trouble! Do you stop to help (2pts), or do you save yourself (1pt)? ◘ The wolves retreat, but the hound has been injured. Do you try to patch the wound (1pt), or allow the hound to fend for itself (2pts)? ◘ The glowing fungi are no longer in abundant supply, and your field of vision is low. The hound seems dazed and lost, but doesn't stop. Do you allow it to continue directing (1pt), or take the lead yourself (2pts)? ◘ Finally, you're free of the cave, and back in the forest!
