Mike, Rancher's Son
The morning just started as the sun was shining meekly into people's houses. In one of the houses activity had already started. The Rancher's house was always up early to take care of the animals as early as possible so they could go out to Pasteur. One of the rooms was still dark. Contours of the desk and bed showed in the weak light coming in from outside through the curtains. a knocking came from the door which finally started to stir the boy laying in his bed. After a few knocks someone walked in and to the window, opening the curtains before looking at the boy in bed.
"Come on Mike, get up it's time to rise. It's 7am, you're late already." they said before leaving the room. The voice hadn't sounded angry or annoyed but Mike knew this was a one time calm call. He yawned as he sat up in his bed and rubbed his eyes. Squinting right away against the light of the sun now filling into his room. They illuminated his room showing the many collections he had stowed away. On the desk were several photo frames with different people and pictures of the island. Next to his desk was a collection of shelves filled with books about Animal Care and History of the island.
With a last stretch, Mike got up from the bed and picked out some clothes from his closet before he moved to the bathroom and took a quick shower. Once he was done and all ready for the day, he was wearing comfortable jeans and an open vest above it and he walked downstairs. After a quick breakfast he went into the ranch and the following hours he was busy filling his chores like cleaning some stables though he fed all the animals as always and brushed them. When he was done with the horses and with that all his chores he was already in his own horse's stable.
Since he was done, Mike saddled up his priced pet and soon enough he went out into the roads and rode off on his stallion. One of the stable helps called after him for his safety cap but Mike shook his head. "Since when have I used that?" he asked and smiled before he waved and moved out of the ranch.
