”Hello? Someone there?”

The sudden sound of a voice nearby startled Irian from his confusion. The silence around him had pretty much been shattered by this unfamiliar voice, after all. He spun on his heel to look behind him, ready to defend himself if necessary. This was done out of habit for him because of how long he’d spent fighting against Eden and Cleanse while in the Mad Man’s army back home. He’d also rather not take any chances while trapped in this unknown place. But before he could even try to confirm if his eyes were deceiving him about there being a half human and half horse figure not too far away, Irian’s vision was once again filled by an unearthly darkness. This time, however, he was not asleep because he knew his eyes were wide open. ”What the hell?! Now what!?”

There was something extremely unsettling, if not oppressive about this total darkness around him now. It was almost as if it was a living thing. And within that darkness, Irian wasn’t really scared by the dark itself. it was what was showed to him while within that space was what bothered him the most. They were things that Irian would have rather never seen or experienced again. At the same time, Irian did not show how he felt about this whole experience outwardly. Since the age of eleven, he had forced himself to become as outwardly numb to these feelings as humanly possible.

A few minutes later, the darkness receded to reveal a completely different location. Before, he had been rudely awakened to find himself in a vast wasteland as devoid of life as the surface of the moon. But now, Irian found himself in what appeared to be a vast underground cavern. In the middle, there was a gigantic wooden wheel which was being pushed around in circles by people like a huge crank spinning some unknown clockwork beneath the ground. Just how many figures pushed their entire body weight against the wooden crank… Irian hadn’t the faintest idea as the cavern was so dimly lit that it was impossible to count them out clearly in his head.

He felt a chill down his spine from sensing a presence behind him, and Irian spun around just as he had earlier. His eyes narrowed as he now noticed the darkness had coalesced into its own humanoid forms. They were all surrounding the enormous wooden wheel, as if watching their slaves as they worked for some greater purpose. He didn’t know what the dark figures were planning to do with him, but Irian had the sickening feeling that they were planning to force him to join the others around the wooden wheel as a slave. An angry scowl came to Irian’s features as he stalked right over to the nearest group of shadows. There was no way Irian wanted to stay as a captive any more, as he felt he had already served most of his life as a prisoner for Eden and Cleanse.

”Hey. Out of my way. You can’t keep me here.” he demanded of the Shades as he raised left arm, prepared to use his poison abilities to dispose of them if they didn’t let him go. However, as soon as he did, Irian could tell something was wrong. He couldn’t reach the poison in order to use it. It was strangely… gone. It was almost as if he was a simple human and not a Branded anymore. What in the world was going on? He wouldn’t be able to fight against this many enemies if he didn’t at least have his powers. There was no way he could win. His scowl twisted from an angry one to that of frustration as his eyes narrowed. Lowering his arm, Irian decided not to fight his way out of here. There was just no way he’d be able to get out without his powers as a Branded. Before turning back around towards the enormous wheel, Irian growled out a few curses in Romanian directed at the Shades.

Aiden was aware of the other person's movements, a hand raised, the shuffling of cloth, and when he next turned to her; she was a young lady. The girl made a... A strange face at him; like a smile trying to decide whether to be a smirk or a grimace. He was not calm, but he had the mental fortitude to not back away. After all, in the midst of his shamefully fearful display, he was still a thousand year old warrior. His eyes did widen to see the wriggling stub in her mouth, and subconsciously his own tongue counted his teeth, as if to tell them it still existed. Not a first time he had seen it, but even the last time, when he himself had handicapped someone so, was quite a time ago. Nowadays, you did not run into such a condition often, and he saw plenty of mutilations in his line of work.

The girl looked up and away, and he knew where, and by instinct knew to not follow her gaze. His blue eyes, swelling with curiosity, bore into her features. She served as a fair distraction from whatever it was that brought them there. It was no shock to witness the dread upon her features, and this time his smile met her gaze. A big smile, a confident smile, and hope flowed from his keen eyes. He supposed it was comforting to see her as another victim, not a volunteer, and not a captor. They belonged to one group, as he realized no doubt did the others there, which was opposed by whatever guarded the entrance.

A weakening smile followed her hand to his, and he watched her 'speak'. To her, he nodded, but immediately felt too much like death, pretending to be some meek lad. "Yes," he spoke, and immediately seemed ignored. This time, he did turn as she did, to look upon whatever took the incoming steps from the entrance. More strangers; most notably, a dragon, and a fox. What a peculiar little work camp this was. Not that he himself was exactly normal, nor really looked the part with sky-blue hair.

Glancing at the girl made him swiftly grasp her hand, and the boy tugged on it to get her attention. She knew them, it was evident. But they too had been brought here by the 'darkness', surely? "Focus on the wheel. Feel the wood. Push, feel it's resistance. Focus. Do not fear. I'll protect you." The boy did not take his eyes away from her, and brimmed with determination to assist his first ally.

Not that he had any plan, yet. His fingers had not the strength now to break off the piece of wood he held onto, no sword to defend himself with, no ability to whisk her away to the other side. He had to think back a very, very long time to remember how life worked like this; and he had no such recollection. Aiden attempted to take count of what he did have: He was a boy, but what even was a boy? He did recall, then, numerous car accidents, playground and sports incidents, cruel - very cruel - parents... These things he came to see pale, lifeless boys surrounded by, and he felt himself at a huge disadvantage against the world. His confidence wavered, and he looked ahead back at the timber solemnly, placing both of his hands on it. "I'll think of something..." In mind, he remained the co-leader of monsters, and he took mental refuge in that fact. The last time such dire circumstances faced a mortal version of him, death had come. Death had come for all that opposed him. Where was Death?

For all the brightness Rika's car was creating, it didn't stop what was coming next. Before she knew what happened, there was a swirling of shadows and a scream next to her car, then the swirling stopped, the shadows dissipated, and then there was nothing. Just her sitting in the car as usual. To most this would have been a frightening or worrying moment, but for Rika, she had an idea of what was going on. Shortly thereafter there was a bright light a few miles away, large enough and bright enough to seem like a bomb went off. "Well that's something different." Rika sighed and closed the passenger side door before heading in the direction of the bright light. It was only a few miles away, and with her Mustang pushing ninety on the rough terrain, it was only another few minutes before she came upon the source. A woman on fire, or rather a woman of fire. Her car coming to a stop, Rika kept all the lights on as she opened the passenger side door again. "That's a neat trick, would you like a ride?" This woman seemed like she would be a bit more proactive than her frightened predecessor. if anything, she would need this woman's help for a little while; something that bright and destructive would be sure to make the Shades mad as hell.

(Hopefully, this one goes through.))

More and more people seemed to enter the room, but it appeared that Will was surrounded by more animals than people. Yay fox and dragon. Yay, fox rubbing against his leg. "Wimp." He even moved his leg to kick Meia off his leg and did lightly kick Meia away. However, upon seeing her ears and tail position, the blonde devil bent down and picked Meia foxy up. "You owe me. Again." He let Meia go up on his shoulder because Armand was perched on top of his head balancing pancakes. "....what, do you want pancakes too, Meia? Stop sign, give her one since you have nothing better to do."

"Mew mew~" Mandy chirped as he lowered a pancake to Meia with a dragon fanged friendly grin.

"Oh, good. Not talking now? Better."

The Mandy dragon only shifted eyes and stuck his tongue out. "Mmhmmm?"

The blonde stood there silently when he heard the dragon, unsure whether Armand could actually speak or not. The demon gave the dragon the benefit of the doubt and didn't waste any more time on it. He looked around again and spotted Alias staring at him with a very much expressive face, one of a truly panicked girl. Was that a delayed reaction to the not-so-much-banter they had before the darkness overtook them? He simply smiled and waved.

And then the darkness seemed to close in, guiding him toward a bar on the giant wheel. "Oh, f*ck off." The blonde coughed. "So....whoever designed this was clearly not thinking about size...." He pushed on the bar a bit and walked with it as it moved. "Because Meia and stop sign are getting off scot free eating pancakes..."
