Jiànleí blinked as he caught the scent of the cooked meat and cheese, and despite himself, his mouth watered as well. "You'd be surprised how often people never realize how bats tend to be around. I do not know this area as well as you do, however, and so I can't say how common they are," he said with amusement. "How about after we eat, I'll handle the dishes, while you relax and maybe clean up a little?" he said innocently, unaware how uncommon it tended to be for men to usually offer to do the dishes.

Clara pulled down a couple of plates as well as a set of silverware for each of them. She retrieved a spatula and dished up the food as she turned to look at him. A small smile appeared on her face. "Thank you. I would really appreciate that." It had been so long since she had cooked for anyone and they had cleaned up for her.

Jiànleí smirked slightly as he hugged her for a moment impulsively. "I don't mind. I was raised in a time where men respected women, and I've never forgotten it... though unfortunately I have met women who took advantage of my kindness," he said with amusement.

Clara smiled, both surprised and pleased when Jianlei pulled her into a hug. She chuckled softly as she pulled back her head to look up at him. "Well rest assured I will never take advantage of your kindness." Her eyes sparkled as she watched him.

Jiànleí chuckled softly. "There are some ways it's quite... fun to 'take advantage', though I have little experience in that area," he said softly. He heard a soft sound before he lifted her slightly as he took a couple of steps. He heard the soft hiss of air as a gust of chilly air blew in for a few seconds before a very small smirk flashed momentarily over his face. Contrary to assumptions and appearances, the windows weren't made of glass, but a unique polymer that reformed when damaged. "Let's get this intriguing meal into our stomachs, eh?"
