Kit isn't dead. Remember that letter he hid in one of the books? "My dear sister, I am glad to hear you are alive and well..." something like that. Blah blah blah. I think that might have been the one where he mentioned the salad with mango and black beans in it, and later on mentioned the Baudelaire parents as their mother prepared the same salad. Maybe the terrible villain was one of his parents. Or maybe wasn't related to him, just grew up with him, as in a dormitory or something. In which case I'd definitely say Olaf. As for the bullfighter disguise, it wasn't in TUA. One of the ASOUE books. This is when he finally saw Beatrice and mustered the courage (because he was in disguise, which made him braver) to yell, "Beatrice! Count Olaf is -something-!" He stopped there, saying it was painful to continue. Whatever. Presumably, he was captured shortly afterwards. NOBODY says the names of the man with a beard but no hair and the woman with hair but no beard. And I doubt they're siblings. For one thing, Olaf is dead scared of them. He acts like they're his bosses and he's kind of a screwup employee around them. I'VE GOT IT! Kit handed Beatrice, the Baudelaire mother, the poison darts. Beatrice asked Lemony to use them to kill Olaf's parents for her, or to help her kill them herself. So Lemony would be guilty of murder. This would explain 1 and 9. It's probably all wrong, though.

That sounds good, although everybody could be completely wrong. You never know. 3nodding

Again, this is all just speculation but I don't think Lemony is guilty of murder. We all know he was being framed for Olaf's crimes in the Daily Punctilo (sp?). He did steal the sugar bowl(admits to it in one of the books, I think somewhere around TVV or TCC), and I think Beatrice either helped him or got accused of it. Then it all went downhill.
@ La Violetta: We weren't saying Kit was dead, we were speculating is she was going to, given some of the shocking secrets in the pdf.

I know you know that Kit isn't currently dead (current being at the point where the last book ended). But she won't die in the last book. Why? Lemony wrote the books after the Baudelaires' tale ended. The letter is most likely to Kit present-day. So she's alive. I could be wrong. But I don't think so.

Hrm, you know I always pictured the books being written after just those events had happened in each book, and that Lemony was always a step behind the Baudelaires...I never really thought the WHOLE series was post-events. Though there is that one comment in TRR. Huh.... confused

I'm almost positive it was written post-events. It's just the way he talks about... all that stuff.

Yeah, I'd always thought the stories were post, too, but couldn't that have been a letter from the past, or something? Anyway, I want Kit to be alive, she's praticaly one of the nicest people in the series (apart from Uncle Monty). 3nodding

Kit has to die, because all of the other orphans in the series have no parents. Jacques doesn't have any children, I don't think. Wasn't it mentioned "and I don't think I ever will, what with my brother's rash."

oO Yuki Yumi Oo Quote: 5) Lemony Snicket grew up with a terrible villain. - Hmmm... Originally I was thinking Count Olaf was his brother, I mean, we don't really know his last name. But then that means either Kit or Jaques isn't his sibling since he is 'one of three' as stated in Shocking Secret #2. He is, however, possibly related somehow if he is represented by 'O' in the family tree in TUA, so maybe they did grow up together...? Well, I thought about this one too sweatdrop
I doubt you have to be related to someone to 'grow up with them'. As in maybe he was a best friend or something along those lines, then again maybe it was his parents xp ( Random.. >.> ) But the family tree kind of confuzzled me ;-_- Excatly what I think. If he grew up in boarding school or was with VFD as a child (Autobiography) then Olaf, a vilian, would be who he grew up with.
