Personality:
Aestival is your basic pet miniature dragon, just he was meant to be: he is covetious, proud, stubborn, demanding, vain and violent by nature, but yet also constrained by his bond to a Magescian which makes him manageable if not docile.
He prefers to use his claws over his magic when possible, and his fighting style can border on cruel as he attacks to inflict pain rather than mere death. He follows few rules, though whether this is because he holds himself above the rules or simply doesn't like them is uncertain. Both toys and live prey feel his wrath – he is a vicious predator, and as he is trained to kill for his bonded master, his cute Orakoi play will only get rougher.
He is not a wild beast, however: Although far from completely tame, he enjoys physical contact and is able to interact with Magescians easily and modulate his responses accordingly. He is capable of being gentle with children and rougher with warriors, and can read moods with ease, a skill he uses in the tricky social situations that his bonded is so fond of.
He isn't a tame beast either, but he is certainly not feral. He prefers the comforts of domestication over the rigors of a wild life. He likes his baths, comfortable bedding, ready food, and the attention of magesicans and is reluctant to trade it for anything else... not even to the extent that his bonded, Laesara would be willing to attempt.
With regards to his bonded, Aestival is adoring and unwaveringly protective of Laesara and those he considers friends of his or hers, which is good because he is highly aggressive towards perceived threats. He is at peace with his nature as a bonded khehora, but though he loves her and though he is compelled to her side, he refuses to refer to her as his 'master' and takes offense at the notion that he is her 'slave'. He only barely tolerates, with snapping jaws and growled threats, the implication that he is her servant.
He does act like her servant, though, following her commands willingly despite his typically stubborn and prideful attitude to orders or commands. He will take commands from no one else, however – he sees all other Magescians (and Khehora) to be far beneath her (and, well, him) in regard. He sees choosing to pay attention to any other individual – or even tolerating their presence without Laesara's command – to be a major compliment on his part, one that they should be grateful for.
Skills
1: Absorb Light – Aestival can absorb light for healing, nourishment, and extra magical and physical power. He still needs actual food, but he gets sluggish, weakened, and depressed without light.
2: Summon Light Orb – Aestival can summon a ball of white light. It is mostly just shiny and bright, but if he spits it as a projectile, it can be damaging and disorienting.
3: Healing - Aestival can heal himself or his bonded for a minor amount with his magic. He can also transfer energy/draw energy from his bonded if necessary.
4: Empower - Aestival boosts his physical power with his magic. His speed, stamina, and strength increase when he is using this ability.

Biography/Background:
Aestival's egg was the only egg of his clutch laid by two new parents on the coastlands of the Malro Desert. Love had brought the pair together from two different lands and wildly different clans – an Aedaun female named Uneem and a Diabi male named Nkhor – and had seen them cast out of their tribes and homelands. In turn, they rejected their old tribe ways, and decided, in their foolish young love, that they would start a wholly new tribe, one of light and dark. Their clutch was the consummation of their love and the start of their dream, but that dream soon became a nightmare. They took turns hunting and guarding their nest, and Nkhor was away from the nest, hunting the bountiful oceans, when raiders came and killed his mate. He returned to find her dead, her remains stripped of anything the khehora hunters could sell and their egg gone from it's carefully tended nest. Wracked with despair, Nkhor flew off into the wind, his wherabouts unknown.
Aestival's egg made its way to a market in Taliuma, where it was then purchased by an enterprising Orderite and shipped to Serenia. Deals were made via very shady contacts connected to a very influential nobleman, money changed hands repeatedly, and eventually the plum-colored egg was delivered into the room of a certain Laesara Wymrith.
And thus did it's story begin.

Aestival adores her and thinks she is quite possibly the greatest Magescian ever to live. She gives him attention, food, and lap. She is wonderful.

Aestival likes this man. Laesara likes his man. Sometimes, he even smells very good. He will never be as wonderful as his bonded, but Aestival will allow pettings and completely ignore the fact that he is demanding them.
