Merrick nodded as he slid off the stool, almost falling as he felt off balance due to his tail. "Is it normal for someone to be off balance? Not to.mention..." he said softly as he was struck by a cacophony of scents that set his mouth to watering. "What's that smell?" he said softly, confused. Tansy blinked, confused before she remembered the feast. " Come on! We're going to miss the feast!! she said with childish excitement.

Cassandra would have mentioned the tail, but Merrick had said something about smelling something, and then they were both being led away. Her stomach rumbled at the thought of food. As they neared the banquet hall her mouth began to water. The smells of the food were really getting to her. She had not realized how hungry she really was.

Merrick let the taller mousemaid lead him down the stairs, unaware his tail was swaying much like a contented cat behind him. "Sorry if I look... strange," he mumbled, thinking he looked like a freak. His eyes widened as he saw the large table filled with various foods. He cocked his head, unaware his Kitsune ears were twitching wildly as a low rumble, almost like distant thunder, echoed slightly. "You do not look strange at all," Cassandra reassured him. "You actually look quite adorable." She giggled softly as his stomach rumbled and he hid behind Tess. "Trust me. I don't think anyone here is going to mind how you look. I actually feel like I don't quite fit in." She reached up and ran a hand lightly through her hair.

Merrick snorted, slipping closer to Cassie before hugging her, unaware his tail gently wrapped around her wrist like a warm bracelet. "Nonsense... they'll fall in love with you quicker than me... from the looks I'm getting," he mumbled, noticing that some of the Abbeybeasts were looking a bit warily towards him for the fox appendages he had. He shivered, unintentionally releasing a gust of magic that faded almost immediately as he looked around, confused why everything suddenly looked much larger; he was unaware he'd changed, taking the form of an adorable midnight blue fox kit with soft lavender-blue irises and silver tips to his tail and ears. | Location - Redwall Abbey Great Hall || Emotions - Curious, starving, a bit disoriented and nervous

Cassandra smiled, blushing slightly as Merrick hugged her. She had seen the looks he was getting, and she was that she knew the reason for it. He had fox appendages and foxes hunted animals like these abbeybeasts. She opened her mouth to say something, but stopped as Merrick suddenly changed. She looked down at him with surprise and then chuckled as she knelt down. "You are full of surprises." She ran her fingers lightly over the top of his head, scratching behind his ears.

Merrick shrugged slightly, ruffling his fur. "What surprises? And why are you so large... and cute?" he said, unaware his voice sounded even more childish than usual. "Ah, well you sort of changed again," Cassandra said as her head tilted to the side. She took a deep breath as a hand held mirror appeared in front of her so that he could see what he looked like now. "That is the surprise."

Merrick gaped, looking in the mirror. Cassandra chuckled as the mirror vanished. "No worries Merrick. I will help you get your powers under control. " She stood back up as she looked down at him. "You're strong, so it shouldn't take long."

Cassandra chuckled as she shook her head. "Well you can always change back. Just close your eyes and concentrate. Think of how you look in your human form. It should come easily enough." At least she hoped it was easy for him.

Merrick closed his eyes and felt an odd sensation, like his stomach dropped, unaware he'd shifted back, although he did look much more like a fox than a human, although his fur was a soft pale copper compared to his darker bronze hair.
