No items.... and if she used a type advantage she gave a type advantage. And yet.... she won. Not only did she won but Jas swept the final two pokemon. And her pokemon? Some of them weren't even touched. Hell she didn't even use Metagross, though she was glad she had him on stand by. And of those she did use, most barely took any real damage. Jas got close, toughing out the final third of Red's team, and Fall had taken some damage battling through while Red used what potions and restorations he had, but overall, the margin of victory was fairly wide. And so fitting that it all finished with Jas.
The towering Mega Charizard stood strong on the battle field, worn, and breathing heavily, but staring fiercely back at their opponent. Flames licked around his dark skin and she could just barely see his eyes from her position behind him. He'd grown so much from the fearful little charmander she picked up, and she couldn't help a smile crossing her face. It had all been dragged out a lot longer than it should have, but it was worth it. Worth it, to know her team had been more than prepared. Worth it to know that even when they were facing their own weaknesses, or their own kind, they could all hold up and deal out. To know that they not only just battled their way to victory, to the title of Champion, but that they would be able to stand strong to defend it. If anyone took it from them, it would have been hard won, and she looked forward to seeing anyone try.
When Red recalled his final team, and it was clear he had no more items to pull out of the bag to keep the battle going, Jas relaxed. He gave a low growl, the flames dying down from where they licked at his teeth, until only his tail carried that bright blue light. Ajicka didn't bother returning him right away-- instead, she stepped forward, to stand beside him, lifting a hand when he curved his neck down, and proudly bumped her with her snout. She might have returned to her usual, neutral expression, but he was grinning-- they did it! They beat this group of trainers, and their leader! They were the something-or-other of the region! And he knew that even if Ajicka was keeping calm, she was boiling with pride. He lifted his head and gave a victorious, happy below, which was enough to get something he was pretty sure he'd never really heard from Ajicka-- a laugh. It was short, breath, and subtle, but it was real, and it was genuine. Almost like a scoff, but.... it came with a smile, and it was warmer than that. He leaned down to nuzzle her again, and she gently pushed his head away. He was right-- she was proud. Of him, and her whole team. And of herself.
The ceremonies and registration that followed were tedious and more bureaucratic than she was really in the mood for, but it gave her time to reflect, and think. That battle felt like it had lasted a long time. It felt like years since she stepped in through the doors to start her challenge against the Elite Four. It felt like even longer since she started her journey to begin with. Honestly.... between that ball, and this battle, she had lost any track of time. And now that she had actually accomplished this goal that she set out for, she had some decisions to make. She would have to consider whether to get in contact with people-- like Rose, maybe Isis and Zero? Zero had been in a weird place last she saw him, something about.... not eating anything but cheesecake or something. She hadn't heard from Rose for so long, she might actually have to hunt the girl down and make sure she was okay.
But as for a goal? Well hell where did she even leave off? She had obviously completed Kanto, and while stuff was being signed and registered, she checked her badge case to see she'd gotten one badge in Johto. She completed Sinnoh. She almost completed Unova. She closed her badge case and her eyes as she put it away. Damn, she should have just challenged Drayden, why the hell did she stop? She reached up to rub her head, and as she did, another thought went through her mind-- where the hell was Deoxys? She hadn't seen him for a long time, though she had felt him occasionally. It felt cheap to grab her team and go finish off Unova, so she set that aside, for now. Maybe she should go on a vacation, instead.... set some new challenges for herself, just enjoy the scenery and train up a new team....
