-]Calliope's pokeball snatched the defeated Weedle from her Carvanha's jaws, and she recalled the vicious fish pokemon to it's own ball. It's temperment was certainly suited to her tastes. "I really must thank that girl for grabbing me such a lovely pokemon," she mused to herself, thinking the matter settled. It would appear, however, that Calliope's intent to rest in this glade was unwelcome. She must have disturbed a small nest or something, because from the very same tree that the Weedle had dove at her, a much larger insect now rose into the are on loud, buzzing wings. She could tell from just a glance that the Beedril that was heading for her was a bit outside what Streex could manage, so her hand drifted forward on her belt and pulled her Vulpix's ball instead. She called the pokemon forth and gave the Beedrill a sneer. "Muffler. Show this brute what happens when someone attacks NOIRE," she ordered, "Burn him."[-
-]Muffler darted around to the side, drawing the bug's attention with a cry. As it came near, the young fox unleashed her fury. A shower of burning sparks shot forth from her mouth, dousing the giant bee and setting it alight. Immediately the Beedrill dropped to the ground, screeching.[-
-]Calliope smirked and threw a pokeball at the fallen pokemon to catch it, but the way it was writing around on the ground fouled her aim. A second attempt was more successful, as she accounted for the involuntary way it was moving. When all was done, she walked over to her young fox pokemon and knelt down, scritching it behind the ears. "You did a wonderful job. Keep it up, Muffler." As she stood once more, she spotted a piece of the tree that haze gotten caught in the blaze and fallen to the ground, where it had began to smoulder.[-

-]With the previous threat to her person settled with an impressive display from her Vulpix, Calliope waited for a moment to see if any other pokemon would think it smart to come after her. After a moment or two of no activity from her surroundings, she seemed satisfied that the glade was empty. Anything else that had been occupying it must have taken off at the sounds of battle. The woman opened the saddlebag on her motorcycle and got out a few items, then made her way over to the large tree in the center of the glade that the bug pokemon had come out of. Calliope smirked at the trie and shook open a small blanket that she laid down at the base of the tree and sat down on. Setting her other items down, the woman called over Muffler and lifted the small fox onto her lap. She scritched the fox under it's chin for a bit, her eyes closed as she relaxed in the cool morning air.[-

-]Calliope's rest was interrupted by a buzzing sound, coming from one of the branches above. Her eyes narrowed, realizing they had missed one before settling in. Perhaps it had been asleep. It was alert now though, and seemed like it was going to attack. Calliope got up, waking her Vulpix and setting the fox back on it's feet. As she moved away from the tree, a Kakuna dropped down into view from the branches above, descending on a gossamer thread. "Take care of this just like the last one, Muffler," she ordered.[-
-]Muffler let out a quiet yawn as she was evicted from her owner's lap, but the threat soon became apparent. At Calliope's order, the Vulpix let out a battle cry and sent forth another gout of burning sparks from her mouth. The sparks alighted on the Kakuna, making it flail about with a horrendous screech.[-
-]"Very good. You're becoming very reliable, Muffler," the woman said, throwing a pokeball at the burning pinata of a pokemon and capturing it. "That's what you get for interrupting us," she whispered to the ball before it vanished back to her office, "Your whole family is mine now..."[-

She wasn't planning to nod off again; no Calliope had something else in mind. Seeing her vulpix fighting so fiercely had inspired her. She picked her sketchbook up and flipped to the first page. Calliope's eyes drifted over to Muffler, who was chasing a butterfly. She began to sketch the little fox out, getting a feel for the form of her with some practice sketches.[-
-]Muffler was having fun now that the work was done. Her owner didn't seem to be needing her for anything, other than watching the vulpix play. When she noticed, Muffler turned and gave the woman a cheery "Vuuuul!" As the fox looked away again, an off smell caught her nose. She followed it over tot he bushes at the edge of the glade, and rustled around beneath them until she found the source. It took some doing, but Muffler grabbed the thing and pulled it out from under the bush.[-

Bring it here," she ordered, waiting for the fox to drag over what looked like a tattered, lost backpack. "Interesting," she said, looking it over. it was heavier than an empty bag should be, and on closer look a couple pokeballs tumbled out onto her lap along with a few other trinkets. Most of them were empty, unused, but one of them appeared to have a pokemon inside it. With a smirk, Calliope registered it with her pokedex and declared, "Well, it's mine now..."[-

-]Calliope nodded in approval at her new zigzagoon's eagerness to please. The thing's ravenous appearance gave it a fierce look, one that reminded her of the fierce look Streex had. They fit her sensibilities well. She watched Bandit as he moved around the glade, keeping an eye on him to make sure he didn't try to run off.[-
-]Bandit snuffled around the grass for a few moments until a spicy, fruity aroma caught his attention. The zigzagoon made his way across the glade, heading in the direction the smell was leading him. At the edge of the glade, he found a large cluster of bushes that were flush with bright green berries. They smelled fantastic, and he just knew that his new owner would be happy to see them. Bandit grabbed a berry laden branch in his teeth and scratched at the stem a few times until it gave way, then headed back in the direction of Calliope and Muffler. His harvesting angered a feeding Kakuna, however, and it gave chase, hopping after him with its stingers bared.[-
-]Muffler's ears perked up at the sound of more chattering from their new teammate. She reached out, touching her owner on the leg with a paw to get her attention, and looked toward the kakuna chasing Bandit and his loot. Anticipating the woman's directive, Muffler moved to intercept them and as soon as the zigzagoon ran past, she cried out to get the bug's attention. "VUUUUUL!!" The cry was followed by a spray of sparks from her mouth, practically incinerating the kakuna.[-
-]Calliope looked down at her little fox, pulled from her musings, and followed the pokemon's gaze to see the bug chasing her newly acquired pokemon. She was about to tell Muffler to let the zigzagoon figure it out on his own, but she saw the fox was too eager jump in. The woman smirked again, readying an empty pokeball, and as soon as the kakuna caught on fire, she nailed it with the ball for a successful capture.[-

-]Calliope waited for her newly acquired zigzagoon to return to her and drop the branch of berries, then bent down and scruffled the fur of it's cheeks with both hands. It had potential, yes...but would certainly need some discipline to keep it out of trouble. "You did good to find me those berries, Bandit," she told the pokemon, having recognized them as a useful variety almost immediately, "But you need to be more cautious. You almost got yourself hurt, and what's more, you almost brought that trouble back onto the rest of us. If Muffler hadn't been keeping an eye on you this could have gone quite a bit worse. Understood?" The zigzagoon chittered in response and Calliope recalled it to its ball to keep it out of further trouble for the moment.[-
-]Muffler padded her way back over to the woman, her owner, and nuzzled Calliope's leg affectionately. She was proud of herself for helping out and wanted attention.[-
-]Calliope chuckled and lifted the vulpix up into her arms. "You're lucky you're so cute," she mused aloud, fingers scritching the fox behind her ears. She was starting to bond with her vulpix, something she didn't normally let herself do with pokemon. They were simply tools...most of them anyway.[-

-]The businesswoman shifted her adorable little fox to one arm and knelt down on the edge of her little blanket to straighten it out, as she had messed up the seating when getting up to capture that last kakuna. Once she was satisfied with it, Calliope sat back down, with her back resting lightly against the trunk of the tree. She was a little surprised at how active this little glade had been while seeming so quiet initially. The woman let Muffler down onto her lap, and idly stroked the vulpix's head curls, just trying to restore the sense of tranquility that had been lost in the clearing with all of the battling. Her eyes closed and the woman began to hum a soft tune, an excerpt from a classical piece she enjoyed playing. The tune always helped to relax her, even if she didn't have a piano on hand to actually play the piece. After a few minutes of soft humming, Calliope's eyes opened up again, and she reached for the berry branch that Bandit had brought her. On taking a closer look, the berries appeared to be of the Lum variety, and there looked to be quite a handful of them on the branch. It was a good find, for sure.[-

Her reaction only lasted a moment before she remembered that the Joltik was her own now, and she recalled the face of the young woman she had met that asked Calliope to care for the tiny thing. The stern business woman actually smiled, and her hand that had been about to swat Tish, closed in more slowly, and she stroked the small bug affectionately. Her finger tingled a bit from the static in the little arachnid's body, an odd but not unpleasant sensation. "You nearly gave me a shock, Tish... I thought you were in your ball. Have you been out all this time?"
