She had been so lost in her wandering that she was nearly knocked over from the spiritual wall she collided with when D'aiyn glided over her so high above. It was enough to make her lift her gaze if just a little. First his scent and now she could feel him again. Had her heart been calling out to him with such a force that it was making her feel what wasn't there? The feeling passed for a brief moment before returning full force and it was then that she realized that she hadn't been imagining any of it. He truly was here. After days of wondering, days coming to grips with the possibility that she would never see him again, he'd finally returned to her. This time her head was high and her eyes searched the dark field. Then she heard it, that voice which called to her and it was as entrancing as the first time she'd hear it. She spun around just in time to see him and the darkness of doubt that had clouded her mind was illuminated and her heart was a flutter. My love! My Beacon. My D'aiyn!
There was no hesitation, she bolted straight for him. She ran to him him as if she feared the darkness of the night would consume him and steal him from her. Just as his emotions crashed into her, her own emotions crashed against him like the waves of the ocean rolling onto the rocky alcoves of the cliffs dancing along the beaches. The moment she was within reach, she tucked her head beneath his jaw and pressed her trembling frame against his own. Her strength had returned, her light...her purpose. If she hadn't been sure of it before, she most certainly knew now that she could not let him go. To live a life without him was simply impossible. To her D'aiyn was life. Please, tell me this is real. Please, tell me you have truly returned to me.

There she was. This was real. He wasn't dreaming this. As their souls collided, their physical beings came together just about at the same time. As if she had never left, his wings wrapped around her frame and his jaw planted itself firmly against her head, avoiding her horn of course. D'aiyn held her so tightly, his whole body trembled. Tears...actual tears streamed down his cheeks, gently falling onto her snout and forelock. I'm sorry...Mahi I'm so sorry...I'm sorry...I'm sorry.. The massive beast couldn't cease his tremors as he simply held her gently snorting and nickering, his tail flicking behind him feverishly. His breathing became ragged, and his mind was non-stop. Nostrils flared taking in her scent as he pushed his frame further against hers. He needed to feel her, make sure she was really there and not just some sick product of his mind.
I am as real as the first day we stumbled upon one another. I have returned and I will never leave you again, Little Light. D'aiyn squeezed her even tighter for a moment before letting his grip rest. He tilted his head back a moment to allow his red eyes to gaze upon her. Begrudgingly, the stallion took a step back, but never removed a wing from her. You are smaller than I remember...have you not been eating? It is my fault. I should not have caused you such displeasure. My beloved, I am truly sorry for what I've done to you...and us. Can you forgive me? He took a gentle, ragged breath as he stared into her luxurious green eyes. She was here. And she wasn't leaving.

She could feel his trembling just as clearly as she could scent salt in the air before she felt his tears fall upon her snout. Oh gods, he was crying and it was her fault. She had made such a scene that it moved him to berate himself for it. She couldn't stand the state he was in and she had no one to blame but herself. She had made him come undone. No my precious King, do not cry. You did what you thought was best. It is I who should be sorry and I am. I deeply regret all the pain I poured onto you. It was not right to give you such a burden. She let out her own nickering, soft in volume so to easy his troubled mind and to soothe the feelings of remorse that he felt. Cry no more beloved for I am with you now and with you I shall forever stay.
She took in his scent as if it were some sort of drug that gave her the high she needed after a long bout of withdrawal. She relished in the feel of him pushing is own larger frame against her small one. Just as much as it brought him comfort solidifying that this in fact was real and not some trick of the mind, he brought her comfort too chasing away any lingering doubt. When he tilted his head back to peer at her, she took the chance to peer up at him and she found herself drowning in pools of crimson. Simply beautiful. She could stare into them all night if he allowed her to yet something was off. Movement. He was moving away from her. Out of instinct she moved closer to close the distance but his statement made her pause and she lowered her head ashamed. She had completely forgotten about her physical appearance. Forgive you? I can not forgive where fault does not reside. It was my own folly not yours. I was being selfish and did not once consider what seeing me like this might do to you. Instead it is I that should ask for forgiveness. Can you forgive me for the anguish I pushed onto you that fateful day? Can you forgive me for making you come undone...for making you shed tears that you should never have to shed?

Her groveling further pushed him into a sorrowful state. How could she feel that she was at fault when he clearly was the one that dashed her away so suddenly? Massive wings re-wrapped themselves around his beloved's body, wing claws intertwining to keep her as close to him as possible. He squeezed her ever so roughtly as he then took her head against his neck, tilting his jaw down to keep her there. It was there that she could hear his massive heart beating for her; she sound of his blood coursing through his veins so that he could live to serve her: his Queen. D'aiyn did as much as he could to convey his feelings and thoughts into their minds, to show her that she was bound to him as he was bound to her. No, my Little Light. Do not blame yourself for my tears. You are my strength, and you are my purpose. I will not allow you to feel or see yourself otherwise. A rough grunt left his maw as he bit her ear affectionately, giving another tight squeeze of his wings before gently pulling away from her. As much as he had missed her, and as much as he wanted to hold her close, D'aiyn was a large male and being cramped ints such an embrace would leave his muscles sore and spasming. However, he stuck close to her, never allowing his gaze to wander nor his mind as the two danced in their thoughts and souls intertwined in their spiritual passions.
D'aiyn took a breath as he drowned in her emerald pools willingly. Her scent wrapped around him like a loving blanket, the warmth spreading through his body like a pleasant wild fire bent on consuming every last drop of him. The male relished in her being and couldn't fathom ever possibly leaving her again. Apologize no more, my sweet mare. You and I have both done enough damage to one another by leaving the other. I will see that it never happens again. If it will make you happy, I will go wherever you go, sleep wherever you sleep, feast on whatever you deem worthy, I am your servant and your King and your forever. You are my pet, my Queen, and my eternity. As the sun cannot live without the moon, I cannot live without you. My Dark Mahina, do me the honor and favor of being mine from now until no more. Whatever wishes you desire, I will grant them so long as you are with me. His words swam out of his mind and dove into her thoughts and soul as he leaned forward gently nuzzling his snout against her ear. From there he gently nipped down her forehead, eyes, cheek, and snout urging her to look up as he did so until their mouths touched. It was there that he pushed his against hers in a sort of kiss, his eyes never leaving her captivating gaze. This is where he was meant to be with his forever, his Little Light, his Dark Mahina.

You're right. We both did our fair share of damage but now we can rectify it. We have a fresh chance at a new beginning and now I can truly start living a life worthwhile because you will be by my side. She released gentle chuffs in response to the sensation of their souls mingling once again in the intricacy of passions dance. Surely this had to be what her parents felt on a daily basis. Before she couldn't even begin to fathom the bond and love the two of them shared for one another because she had never had the fortune of feeling it. Yet now...now she understood it fully. She was complete. The piece of the puzzle and finally fallen into place, her better half...the shadow to her light was here and oh how her light shone brightly and showered his own in it's brilliance to convey the level of elation she felt and yet just as her light illuminated him, the depths of his darkness consumed her.
It licked at the very fibers of her soul like the flames of hell and she relished in every single moment of it. Slowly she grew drunk of the essence of him, the iqour of his very being bleeding into her own and coursing through her veins. Her heart pounded and with each gentle n** he placed on her, she gave him two in return until finally their lips touched. She was in her own personal heaven and no amount of interference would pull her from it. Nothing his mother or siblings could do would get rid of her. Nothing her parents or siblings could do would pull her from him. Not even Death could rip asunder what they had because they were one, now and forever. Come away with me sweet King. Come and meet my family. I wish for them to see who has completed me...to see my world and night sky. I want them to see just how radiant our love is.

Hesitation. Immediate hesitation set upon his mind, one that he could not hide fast enough for at this point they were stark naked with their souls bared to the other. The brute closed his eyes taking in a breath, a large breath of air that was filled so completely of her scent. It calmed him in a manner of speaking, but the fear was there. Her family...her parents...her brothers and sisters... How would they approach one such as him? Could they really open their minds and hearts to a monster? The future that he had seen with him and Dark Mahina slowly started to fade. The idea of his paradise began to crumble causing him to hold her even tighter. It was clear that he was afraid of losing his only purpose in life, and yet...
Opening his eyes, D'aiyn stared into the eyes of his beloved Little Light. How could he say no? How could he deny her such a simple request because of his own fears and insecurities? Clearing his throat, he gently nipped her lower lip giving a light nod. I will do whatever you command of me, my Queen. You already know how I feel, but I shall brave whatever challenges may come so long as you remain by my side. A gentle whicker slowly came forth from his throat as his soul shone and sang with joy. From her, he drew his strength and ability to face any threats. Why would he let her family get in the way between them? Why should he? Even if they did not approve of him, he would still remain hers and she, his. They would find a way to make it together. But there was one thing...
My heart, if we are to meet your family, there is one thing I beg of you with my being... We can never meet my mother. You, specifically. You are not allowed near my brothers, her brother, her cousins, her friends...none. Gaze into my mind, my memories...memorize them...be wary of them... D'aiyn closed his eyes pressing his snout against hers hard as if to physically solidify their connection as he dove with her into his past... lizard-like azrein with coloration much like his...his mother, Barb...and her brother, Fang...the black and white bristles and thorns that were Barb's cousins, Talon and Claw... the white mare with a sadistic nature...Sharsa... and his three brothers...spiked and furious D'arte, D'reighton, and D'von... Memorize them, my Queen. Memorize them and know they are not to be trusted. They are not to see you or know that you are mine for they will surely use you against me, and lest I may lose you... He went into as much detail as possible forcing her to understand...the path was twisted and dark, but he desperately needed her to see every piece of him, of who he was, who made him, what he was...except D'mitri, his sire. In all actuality, D'aiyn was on the fence about the male. That one memory was blocked out as much as he could so even he couldn't remember.
Once he was sure, he gently pushed her away in order to prevent a snap back. The stallion was sure he had shocked her...but hopefully not too much. He made sure to keep a hold on her, to keep her close. She wouldn't face this alone. She would never face anything or anyone alone again. He made sure of that. Gently, he opened his eyes and lip locked with her again, gentle whickers and snorts leaving his throat. He wondered how she felt...how she would react..if she still wanted him...

There was no hiding that hesitation or the fear that fueled it. It raked it's piercing claws against her core and swallowed her soul entirely but it did nothing to deter her. She knew from the moment she met him that they would be met with adversity at every turn. The path she chose was never destined to be an easy one and she would have it no other way. The trials they would face would only make the bond they had stronger and ever lasting. She may come off as frail, but she was most assuredly a fighter....no, she was a different kind of a monster. She was born in darkness, and while it did not leave a physical mark on her as it did with D'aiyn, it left it's mark on her mind. The challenges ahead will be daunting for fear blinds the best of us, but so long as you are willing to face those challenges, I will face them with you. Even in your times of weakness, I will be your strength and carry the weight. I will always be by your side come what may.
Gently she nipped at his neck and pressed herself against him even more as if attempting to merge their beings more than they already were. Though she grew disheartened when he spoke of never meeting his family. She had a feeling this would be his request. At first she didn't fully understand but when the images of them all flooded her mind and the explanation made his reasoning behind it clear she could only nod. I submit to your command my King and I will not do anything to bring such a meeting upon us. But you must know that a meeting will be had even if it is not something either of us intended. We can't hide forever. Eventually we will be found out and we will be confronted. They will try everything in their power to destroy us, to turn us against each other but know this. As monstrous as your family may be, and as monstrous as their allies may be, they know not of the monster we are how just how frightening we can be. They only see whats on the surface but when pushed we can be so much more and much stronger than what they could even fathom. I will stand strong against them no matter what they do. They may draw blood but they will never break me. They may destroy my body but they will never be rid of me. Nothing they can do will ever tear us apart. We are one, now and forever.
Gentle chuffs escaped her throat as she attempted to sooth his fears before she nipped his ear and began trotting off. Come my love. Let us face our first challenge together.

Indeed, her gentle yet stone words gave him courage. As their souls and minds mingled together was one, he couldn't help but indulge in a thought: was this some cruel trick by whatever gods existed to give him such a prize? To mate him to such an exquisite treasure...was this all for real? Her gentle touch and playful nips shattered that theory in an instant. Dark Mahina was indeed real and she was indeed here by his side. They were together and would be for the rest of their days. Dare he fathom a family with his beautiful Queen? It didn't strike him odd anymore...for nights on end as he grew into adulthood, he wondered what it would be like to be a father...and it terrified him. Was this the same anxiousness that plagued his sire? His mother didn't seem quite caring nor was she of the opinion that her sons were nothing to her but tools of destruction...ones that she slowly lost one by one as each came into his own mind. If the gods were good, he dare pray for her to never spawn again.
You raise a valid point, Little Light...still, I will fight to keep that day at bay as much as possible...and if it happens, you will flee. I will deal with them. No harm is to come to you so long as I draw breath in my body. I am your strength and your sword and your shield, Dark Mahina. Nothing will ever separate us or the fury of a thousand hells will spawn upon them, I assure you. Once again, massive wings found themselves around her frame hugging her ever so tightly. The simple thought of Fang coming upon his beloved made his blood boil and anger rise. He only had to take a deep breath of her scent to calm him of his imaginative woes. Surely that day would not come for some time if indeed the gods were good... Monsters? My beloved you are far from monstrous...the only thing demonic of you is how you captive me so and even then, I welcome that gladly... But in a way, I see what you mean...together we are a fearsome pair indeed and we will forever be such a force to be reckoned with. King and Queen of our own lives and our own right. Nothing will ever come between us as such.
Settling himself for the journey, D'aiyn tucked his wings close to his body and slowly began keeping a gentle pace behind her. His eyes took in every movement of her body, ever ripple of muscle underneath luscious fur. He only came up on her side as to memorize her gait pattern and how she looked from that angle as well. The stallion continued to study his mate in keen and intense interest locking everything into his mind's eyes. Even his breathing was for purpose as each time he came close, a giant whiff of her scent came through his nostrils. It was intoxicating, beautiful, stunning, floral, earthy. Eventually he came back up to her side to walk beside her, wing coming up to place itself over her back and keep her close. D'aiyn craved the constant physical contact of his mate. There wouldn't be much stopping him once they decided to take things further in that aspect... Dark Mahina, if I ask...what sort of herd is your family? I would like to prepare myself so that when I meet them and I will do best to make sure I do not offend them since we will be mated after all. D'aiyn wanted to keep his mind sharp. He didn't know how long this walk would be, and it would do no good for his wits not to be about him.

"You will have to accept the fact that I'll not flee. If you fight, I fight and nothing you can say or do will make me back down on the matter. If we are truly one, then we shall fight as one. It's just that simple. Just as you are my strength, sword and shield, I am your quiver, bow and arrows. With precision I will bring down the targets for which you aim." Her tone carried authority signaling that such a subject was not up for debate. While she was usually eerily docile, she still had the fire that she'd inherited from her mother. Buried deep within her was a warriors spirit and she'd not have it any other way...even if her temper did get the best of her at time. Which was the reason she chuckled when he protested to her being far from monstrous. If only he truly knew. If he'd seen what she'd done to another back when she was a filly and without remorse no less, he'd be singing a different tune. Now that she thought of it, she couldn't help but wonder if perhaps he would think of her differently if he actually witnessed her in such a state of mind. Would he be repulsed by her? He thought he was a monster but monsters don't feel nor question if what they are doing is right whereas clearly he did. "I pray the day of you seeing the monster I truly am never comes. My family has bore witness to it multiples times and while they do their best to hide it...I know that they hold some fear of me."
As he caught up, matching her gait, she could feel his eyes roving over her form and it caused something within her to stir...something new and foreign. Just as she captivated him, he captivated her. The sweet serenade of his voice filled her mind and the delicious whispers of his scent that was riddled with dew from the sky above and the spiced earth tones of saffron laced therin was pure intoxication. She rode on the wings of a euphoric high and had no intentions of coming down from it. Then to feel the distance between them vanish as he enveloped her within his wing was enough to make her melt. She was his to mold and to do with as he wished. She needed his touch more than words could describe and the very idea of breaking contact with him made her want to go on a rampage. She was a fiend and he was her drug. It was just that simple. She'd sooner die than allow him to be separated from her. Her sudden anger fizzled however when her beloved presented her with a rather interesting question. In all honesty, she'd never really put much thought into describing what her herd was like because it was so black and white with her. They were what they were but now, she really needed to think on how best to describe them all.
"I...suppose one could use the term interesting...at least it's what I've heard others say. Kainda....Mamma...is a warrior much like your mother is but she still holds a tenderness about her.Likely because of the stallion she chose to take as her mate. She will likely be the hardest on you as she wants nothing but the best. Strength is very important to her and if you can't match her or her children....me...then you'd do best to back off. I won't say that she is intolerant of weakness but she's not a fan of it either...if that makes any sense at all." She paused a moment, gathering her thoughts on who she would focus on next. "Tempest...she is...hrm...like a filly in a sense. She questions everything and shows great interest in everything and that is probably because my sister is unable to see. She is also filly like because she'd got the energy of one. Always has from what I can remember. Sometimes she tires even me out. Dark Tide....Papa is ridiculous. He's funny, charismatic, free-spirited and great for laughs but you shouldn't take him lightly. He's got a heart of gold and unyielding passion. He will do anything for us even if brings him to draw his last breathe. I do not think though that he will be as hard on you as Mama will though." Once again there was a pause in her thoughts. She'd been talking all this time and while D'aiyn listened attentively, she felt like she was just rambling and became a bit self conscious. "Kai...my brother is very much like Papa....and a bit of a klutz so rule of hoof when walking with him...don't follow too closely. Nothing I can say could ever give you a full grasp on what they are like....but you'll get to experience everything soon. There they are up ahead....and judging by their posture....their in a frenzy....because of me."
