 Keenan followed closely after his Uncles, jumping at the loud noises and the over excited babble of the kids waiting to get on the train bound for Hogwarts. He nervously reached up and pulled on the ends of his black wispy hair and bit on his bottom lip as he glanced around at the families gathered to send off their children to the school. He jumped slightly when a large hand settled on his shoulder and then glanced up at his uncle Bradford.
"Don't be nervous now, you'll like Hogwarts. It's lots of fun. You'll get to meet the school ghosts and Peeves. I'm sure you'll enjoy that."
Keenan grinned at the mention of the school's prankster poltergeist Peeves. "Oh yes, it would be splendid to meet them. I bet they'll have grand stories that I can write to you about."
"I am sure they will." Bradford replied, his green eyes twinkling down at the waifish 11 year old. "Now then, your trunks will will be loaded, you should take Mungo and go find a compartment to sit in before all the good ones are taken."
"We'll miss you Keenan," His uncle Damian told him as he handed over Mungojerrie's carrying case. "The house won't be the same without you."
"I-I'll do that. I'll miss you too Uncle Damian," Keenan replied as he took the case and made his way to where several other kids were boarding the train.
"I'll try to write once a week!"
Soon Keenan was lost in the crowd of kids as they all went searching for a place to sit. Keenan gulped as he checked a compartment and was told to "bugger off" by several older students. He ducked out and trudged slowly down the aisle checking the other compartments as he went. Finally he found one that was empty and he set Mungo's carrying case down.
Then he took off his leather school bag and set it down on the seat next to him.
"I wonder if anyone will want to sit with me." He wondered aloud, then pulled out his notebook on the noble sasquatch and settled down to look it over.

Late as usual, Danilynn finally had arrived at the train platform just before the train was ready to leave. Panting as she leaned down against her knees, the first year looked for her ghostly father. With a sigh of relief, she slid her fingers through her chocolate brown hair and smiled to her father. With a warm smile back, her Father smiled to her, "Why must you always arrive in the nic of time? Had you gotten here earlier, you'd have more time to relax." He teased then looking to the train. "Go on. Unless you'd rather stay with the non-magical folk." He teased again.
"Papa, you know how I get when I shop!" Dani's smile beamed to her father as she blew him a kiss. "I love you, papa! I'll write to you and grandpa!" She added as she took off towards the train.
Danilynn nervously bit her lip as she walked down the hall of the train. All the rooms were taken and most other didn't want her there.... okay so she may have been too shy to ask. As she passed a room with a boy in it, her eyes caught on the book her was looking through. Taking a deep breath, she entered the room with a smile. "What's that you got there?" She asked with her head slightly tilted in interest. Dani laughed softly and pointed to a seat, "Do you mind if I join your company?" She asked.

Keenan was so absorbed in his notebook that he didn't hear the door open or the girl step inside.
When she spoke, he whipped his head up so fast he heard his neck crack. He winced and rubbed his neck and looked the girl over closely, and croaked a reply.
"It's a notebook on Sasquatch," he rasped, wishing he had thought to bring something to drink with him. "Uh I guess that would be all right."
He glanced over her again, and noticed she had a small owl resting on her shoulder. He blinked and eyed it closely. He had never seen such a tiny owl before.
"What's your owl's name" He asked, his voice still a bit gravely.

Danilynn laughed again at the others reaction, "My apologies. I didn't mean to frighten you." Another smile crossed her face as she took a seat. "Sounds fascinating. Would you mind if I read it after you?" She asked as she patted the top of her owls head. "Oh, this little guy's name is Cheeky. He's just a baby." She said fondly and nuzzled her little friend who then cooed back in response.
Dani tugged her bag onto her lap and pulled out a soda and a bag of chip. "Would you like some?" Offering the soda to him before opening the chips. "Oh! I'm Danilynn by the way! Danilynn Patterson." She offered her hand to the other.

Keenan grinned at her a bit shyly and then nodded. "That's all right, I tend to be a bit jumpy." He was a bit surprised that she was interested in his notebook. He looked down at the hand drawn pictures and notes he had meticulously made on the creature and then looked back up at her. "Well..actually I've read this many times. So you can look at it now if you'd like." He said closing it and offering it over to her.
Keenan grinned a bit brighter at the owl's name. "That's such a cute name." He watched as the little owl responded to her and nuzzled her. For a fraction of a minute he wondered what it would feel like to have an owl nuzzle him. Then he shrugged it off. He wouldn't trade Mungo for anything.
He glanced down at the carrier at his feet and eyed the sleeping cat. Well now there was no way Mungo was going to be let out of his carrier with a baby owl sharing the compartment. He had no idea what the cat would do if he saw it, but he knew what he was capable of. He'd been on the receiving end of way too many headless birds to even think of letting him out.
Keenan glanced up when she asked him if he wanted any. His eyes alighted on the can of soda. "Yes please, my throat has gone really dry. Nice to meet you, Danilynn. I'm Keenan Andruis." He replied taking her hand and shaking it gently.

Danilynn grinned as the other offered his notebook, carefully taking it and setting is beside her. "Thank you! I can't wait to read it." She mentioned. "I'm glad you like my owl friend. My fathers owl is the mother of this one. I decided to raise him myself." She mused as she tossed a potato chip into her mouth. Smiling to Keenan when he accepted the soda, she tossed another chip into her mouth before offering the other some. "Help yourself."
As she inspected the other, she wondered what his life had been like... Surely he had grown up around wizards his whole life. She looked to the side at the book with hand-written notes and pictures. That sorta stuff was considered weird in the non-magic user's world. Shrugging off the thought, Danilynn wiped her hands on a napkin then moved Cheeky to her lap. "Keenan Andruis? Nice to meet you." She patted her bird on the head then looked down to the cat in the carrier. "Oh, sorry I didn't bring a cage for Cheeky... I'm sure your cat would love to stretch it's fuzzy little legs." Rubbing the back of her neck, she gave a sheepish grin. "I'll have to make it up to the poor little guy." She added then stretching out a bit. "So... Kennan, which house are you hoping to get into? My father told me that there are four dif--" Pausing as she realized how stupid she must sound... He probably already knew what she was saying. "You probably already know that, sorry!... I.. Didn't grow up here." She explained, feeling like a dull idiot.

Keenan felt a thrill go through him at her saying she couldn't wait to read it. He could feel his face heat up and wondered just how red his face must look. He pushed up the sleeves of his sweater and fanned himself a bit.
"It's a bit hot in here, I wonder if the windows open." He said glancing over at the window trying to see if it was welded shut or if it could open.
"That's pretty cool, I've had Mungo about a year now. I got him on my last birthday. Since my birthday is in November, I had to wait longer to start at Hogwarts. I have been reading up on the school though." He added.
Keenan managed to slide the window open and then sat back down on his seat and pulled his sweater off. He had the tendency to wear layers because he got hot so easily. He was wearing his favorite dark blue shirt with a sasquatch on the front of it making a peace sign with it's fingers.
He glanced up when she offered him some of her crisps. "Oh why thank you. Crisps are my favorite." he said with a smile and took a few from her bag to munch on.
He felt her eyes on him again and wondered why she liked to stare at him so much. Was there something wrong with his face? Or his glasses? Keenan frowned slightly and took his glasses off to examine them for smears.
He glanced up at her and watched as she patted her bird tenderly. "Nice to meet you too Danilynn. "
He followed her gaze down to Mungo's cage. And he shrugged. "Oh that's all right. He'll more than likely all the space he needs once we get to Hogwarts.
I am sure that he'll let you do that. He is quite fond of liver treats. I'll let you give him some later." Keenan promised with a smile at the still sleeping cat.
Keenan was surprised to hear that she hadn't grown up in a magical home. Then again..up until the last five months he hadn't known much about the magicking world either thanks to his absent minded uncles. At least they had made it up to him those past few months after his 11th birthday.
"Well actually up until the day of my 11th birthday I didn't know too much about this world either. I live with some pretty absent minded uncles who happen to be wizards but not really practicing because they live near muggles. So I've only known about it for a few months now. I am hoping to get into Ravenclaw, that's the house both my parents were in. If there's anything that you need help learning I can try to help you with it." He replied.
"Excuse me, but do you two mind if I stash a few things in here? Our luggage carrier is all full up." A voice suddenly chirped out of nowhere.
Keenan was rather startled by the interruption and looked up to find a smiling girl with the longest bright cyan colored hair in the world. He stared at her in surprise noticing that she had one green and one red eye.
"Uh I don't mind, what about you Danilynn?" He asked turning to his new friend.
The newcomer noticed the little owl sitting in Danilynn's lap and a small squeal of glee escaped from her mouth. "Aww what a cute little owl! I have a cat called Bubbles, she's fun enough but baby owls are just so adorable!"
