A dumbfounded, yet content smile crossed Bree's face as she was glad that Caster had accepted the gift. "Well I'm glad you like it. I had to ask a little help from a mage to figure out what type of gift magic users like." She paused for a second. "I mean our clan did have magic users, but I didn't study the dark arts they took part in. I just tried to do illusions and that's it." She watched Caster as he studied the book. When he looked back at her she looked a bit curious. "Is that something you could possibly do?"
Once he pulled out a gift for Bree she was so excited like a kid in a candy shop. "Oh goody! Thank you so much!" She took the comb before putting it in her hair. "This will work perfectly since the rose before just died on me." She slightly frowned at the thought. "It's alright if you didn't wrap it. I'm not one to judge and it's the thought that counts." She paused for a moment. "I would offer you a hug to show my gratitude, but I don't know if you're a touchy feely type."

"Me, do illusions?" asked Caster. "I have never tried to do illusions. I might be able to do them, but I do not know, a lot of my powers involve creating real things."
He smiled as she wrapped her hair around the comb and saw the loss of her horns. It made him very sad to see, but if she did not want to talk about it and she was still his friend, it was no business of his. "I can always have a quick hug," he said jovially, perhaps trying to cover his odd feelings. He wrapped his arms around her briefly and let go.

Bree nodded her head. "Oh I see. That makes sense since truthfully some of the better things are real and not just fake." She accepted Caster's hug and was happy for it. "Well I love the comb. It will look perfect with my hair and..." She trailed off for a second about to say horns, but she didn't want to look too sad and pitiful in front of Caster. "Well how have things been for you lately?"

"Well, I had my epiphany; which really means that I realised I spent so much time fighting where my magic wanted to go, bashing my head against a wall, when, if I did something else with my powers, they would have less ability to run wild, so I've been concentrating on that. Kind of like when a kid has a toy they shouldn't play with and you distract it with sweets."
He didn't want to ask her how she had been when obviously something had happened to her that she had not brought up yet. He coughed.
"Illusions do have their places! Very interesting magic. I always enjoyed illusion shows when I was a kid. There's a hippogryph I know, she lives up the mountain, Magina, and she does illusions..." He paused. "You want to get something to eat? You must have travelled a way to get here."
