- Okay gang I really need to get cracking on the Xmas event thread stuff here. Even though the event theme has now been revealed to be the continuation of the Jack and Sandman story from the December chance box our theme will still be one of a Winter Carnival on Porta Denia. Now I'm still trying to decide on most of the prizes for the contests so this post will mostly focus on the actual contests and activities for the event thread. If you want to help out with running something or handing out prizes for things like our page number posting contest then do let me know. Hopefully, we can have everything all planned out and set up by next Monday.
Contests Planned:
✘ Door Prizes: Our usual you post you qualify to win random number draw contest.
✘ Page Post Handouts: The typical be the fist non me or person handing out prizes to post every ten pages and get a prize "contest". If anyone wants to hand out those prizes do let me know.
✘ Best Dressed Humans: Always a fun time with making a very good avatar contest.
✘ Best Dressed Paws: Always a good fun make your best Paws avatar contest
✘ Merry Medical GOSHmas: Instead of a short story contest this will be a contest where you pick a member of the GOSH team or any of the other listed NPCs and write a short year end wrap up Xmas letter from them to everyone on their Xmas Card list.
Planned Activities:
✘ Freebie Personalized Snowflakes: `Hydro is going to bring back her fairly popular charms as customized snowflakes. I'm not sure if they'll be similar to the NPC snowflakes she's been tossing around the GCD recently.
✘ Xmas Casimir Trees: This will be an art activity where you create your own casimir tree and have it decorated for Xmas. I'd rather this be an activity rather than a contest so people don't feel as if they can't participate if their drawing skills aren't the same as others and it allows me to participate too. We might do a random draw or two for some small gifts to give the people who take part.
Also don't forget if there's something you'd like to do but don't want to go through making a thread we can host it for you.
Possible Prizes:
✘ One full set of GOSH dolls: This was going to be our grand prize for the art contest that did not receive entries.
✘ Red Horns of the Demon: Again they were going to be a past prize but were never handed out.
✘ November and December letters: Haven't decided which set, or if we'll do one of each, we'll be handing out for the Best Dressed Contests
✘ Right to Bare Arms I and II: I had donated two of each to the guild so we'll be able to find a way to use them as prizes.
✘ Various GOSH dolls: Some dolls in the set have several copies so we can give out one or more as prizes this time around.
✘ Four December Chance Box singles: I had a ton on this account and thought the guild could use some of them to give as part of prize packs.
✘ [Animal] Cherry Red Reindeer: This could be a good prize as a part of our main Paws contest.
✘ [Animal] Bashful Jonjon and/or Scummo: A nice fairly easy to purchase Paws item with a skin that can be used as a prize for our main Paws contest or as part of the writing contest.
✘ [Animal] Fluffy Ram-a-Lam and/or Sweet Sheepy Sheep: Good for either the writing contest, door prizes, or as a part of our main Paws contest.
✘ [Animal] Magical Elf Fur: I'm more than willing to donate this to the guild for our a prize in our main Paws contest.
So that's what we have in the way of what I think would be possibly good prizes. We're good right now with the amount of things we have but if people want to donate inexpensive winter items (The new gold shop items would be awesome for this) for a Gaia version of a "Coat Drive" random gifting to the mule Maruko A7M3 that would be awesome.
If there's anything you want to help out with or have questions about feel free to post away. I figure despite the theme for the event our thread should be lighthearted, full of good cheer, and just plain dang fun. So nothing we do will be overly serious. Because after the last four or five months some of us have had we need to destress and get silly with everything.
