I'm a student at Earlham College (it's a great school if you're interested in Japanese Studies as well as the language, the classes are GREAT) and they've had an exchange program going with Waseda University in Tokyo for at least a decade. They've been involved with Japan for over 100 years, though, and they were one of the few colleges during WWII to allow in Japanese-American students.
heart I have
a lot of Japanese exchange student friends, and they're all really nice and funny. My friend, Hiro, is so much fun to eat breakfast with because he does it in such a Japanese way. It's hard to explain without seeing it, but think of those scenes in anime when a character is eating ramen quickly and it's just one line of food. It's somewhat like that. lol...
heart You go to Earlham? That's so cool! I was there last summer doing the intensive Japanese study program with Kuriya Yasumi. Do you know Sara Perkins? She was our T.A.! I already have the application to try to get into Earlham for next year. ^^-
We have a Japanese exchange student in my school currently. Her name is Kittaka Mika. She's very nice and good at English. She doesn't like to talk in Japanese because she wants to focus on speaking English, but she lets me practice Japanese on her. I assist her when she has trouble translating things too. She spent $200 on clothes at the mall the other day.
xd She likes fashion and has a boyfriend in Japan, but when we asked her if he's cute she said, "No, he's ugly!" And then when she showed us a Pirikura picture of him, we found out he is actually very cute!
