Kara Homeland: Telk Languages: Telkish (Common) Gender: Female Personality Type: ISTJ Age: 7 years Colorist: JadeEye (original), Kaelyndra (recolor) Parents: ♂ Orion (NPC) ♀ Tilla (NPC) Siblings: ♂ Akade (NPC)
The first year of Kara's life was spent with what was more or less an average family. Her mother and father stayed together out of something part love, part necessity, and her brother was more or less an equal aged figure to which Kara simply did not relate. Adolescence hit Kara hard. The quiet arguments her mother and father had, coupled with her brothers dismissal of the events grated on her hormonal nerves to the point she left [1] [2].
Only a few months into this journey, tired and ribby, she met Ran. The small wolf shared her meal, a kindness Kara never forgot. In fact, it became a leading thought in Kara's mind. The mysterious Ran became a word to live by, rather than a real wolf. As if to repay her, Kara shared what meals she could with other wolves in a similar predicament. Perhaps unwisely, she assumed every friend of Ran's was a friend of hers. In this manner she met Kaho, a wolf who acted both as friend and annoying acquaintance. It was Kaho who actually did the most for Kara, guiding her through the convoluted politics that made up Telk.
Most of her future encounters with Ran were brief, but this only strengthened her resolve to help the downtrodden and outcast, namely females. She eventually formed a pack [3], inviting outcasts, lones without families, and those who just needed a place to stay. When a great fire burned the home of Kaho and Ran, she sheltered them here. The sight of their mortality, depression, and struggles aged Kara and pulled her further back into reality. While she often emotionally leaned on Ran's comforting white lies, Ran ceased to be the obsessive figurehead Kara had created. A short time after their home had burned, Kaho foresaw the sky turning to ash and convinced the wolves residing in the pack to leave, thereby rescuing them from their fate.
As the three wolves discover Tolas, Kara takes it upon herself to be the voice that pushes them on. Naturally pessimistic inwardly, she forces positive, reinforcing phrases to keep everyone moving ("There will be water in the canyon, but there will be no water if we stop"). Otherwise, she rarely talks. Feelings are something Kara has an impossible time expressing and understanding in others. She's prone to days of unheeded agitation where the stress of a new land and journey wear down on her skin. While normally helpful, if silent, towards lone wolves, some may find Kara needlessly, vocally aggressive on a bad day. Usually Ran's presence calms her, and to some degree Kaho's. Whether or not they've ever asked for it, Kara retains a stringent loyalty to those wolves she leads and will put her life on the line for them even in questionable circumstances. If she is ever required to pick between wolves, she asks Ran or Kaho or guidance. If she has to pick between Ran or Kaho, she always sides with Ran.
Footnotes [1] Even as an adult, the memory of small squabbles grate on Kara's nerves, and she'll occasionally start a fight simply to get someone else to stop bickering.
[2] In the beginning, Kara often returned to the safety and food security of her family. She took out her failure to leave completely on her family and quickly became known as being easily annoyed, unreasonable, and spoiled.
[3] Known as the "River Pack" in a previous Shaoilin generation. This pack was surrounded by rivers, contained a large waterfall, and was often laden in mist. If you'd like your Telk wolf to have stayed here for a time and to know Kara, feel free to contact me.
Relationships
Kaho ♂ (Hopefolly): There seems little that should keep these two wolves together at first glance. In his high-day, Kaho often disgusted Kara with is relentless flirting and never-ending casual chatter. Yet, beneath that, Kaho has a sense of loyalty and commitment that made him take a mate and keeps Kara listening to his advice. While she may often show as tense and frustrated in his presence, there is no one Kara trusts more with the exception of Ran.
Ran ♀ (Hopefolly): Though at times Kara finds her misguided, the red-wolf's respect for the shaman is utmostly clear. If she's missing, Kara acts on her health and frets needlessly. If she's sad, Kara wants to be the one to help her. Kara believe she's being selfless, but most outsiders can see the selfish approval Kara seeks from Ran. Rumors that Kara wants Ran as more than a friend are not uncommon and likely have some foundation, despite Kara's own dismissal of the subject.

Uuni (Originally Aksaya) Homeland: Tolas (Originally born in Sunlords Pack) Languages: Sharanjin (native), Telkish (fluent), Velskan (fluent, but still occasional grammatical errors), Yakoshi (polite conversation) Gender: Female Personality Type: ESTP Age: 2 years Pack: Timekeepers Rank: Seer Colorist: Kaelyndra Parents: Madih ♂ (NPC) & Raza ♀ (NPC) Siblings: Kaina ♀ (NPC) Tahani ♀ (NPC) Mate: Iver ♂ (Hopefolly)
Stress and doubt are commonplace as a politically accepted mate of the Timekeeper. To seek solace, Uuni is constantly watching with her eyes and interpreting actions with the aid of her mind. Whether they are willing or unwilling, Uuni lives vicariously through the thoughts of others [1]. Should she desire to feel young again, she'll settle into the thoughts of a young puppy caught up in a game of bears and prisoners. Should she find herself attracted to another member of the pack, Uuni will inhabit the mind of their mate. However, Uuni rarely speaks or makes herself known in others minds. Excepting Iver, many simply assume she knows their thoughts, but they lack solid evidence. What information she finds, Uuni speaks to no one but Iver.
Trying to gather private information from Uuni usually ends unsuccessfully. When approached with a question about someone else in the pack, Uuni almost always tells members to ask themselves. Only in trials, and often only when asked specifically by Iver, does Uuni actively speak what she's found in the minds of others.
For a wolf constantly invading others thoughts and emotions, Uuni remains emotionally distant. She prefers small-talk, growing apathetic, snarky, or playfully dismissive of conversations that turn to heavy-headed subjects such as politics or love. Even other seers will have a hard time garnering information from her mind as Uuni's greatest strength surrounds creating mental shields. This greatly hinders her ability to form strong, stable relationships with any others in the Timekeepers. Anyone who attempts to pursue Uuni on an emotional level even as simple as friends will find her quickly retreating both physically and emotionally. Often, this leads her straight to Iver, and she uses the alpha as a personal shield when confronted with a situation she cannot escape through other means.
Her unwillingness to grow close leads to questions about Uuni's loyalty. Most know the basics of her story: Aged in her teens, Aksaya was discovered to have a penchant for reading the thoughts and minds of others. Its known that her father willingly gave her up, and rumors are that her mother was ready to be rid of her quickly as well. Coming from a family who didn't want her, it was only natural Aksaya should grow distant. While there is truth buried there, it only holds loosely to reality. Never the less, she still has a great deal of bitterness for her old family and refuses to talk about them with others.
The indoctrination into Timekeepers beliefs and philosophies was relatively seamless. When she first arrived, her Velskan was poor, but through Iver's guidance, the help of her powers, and Aksaya's willingness to practice with other member's of the pack, she slowly improved her ability. Those who tried to speak Sharanjin with her whether out of hospitality or rudeness were met with a teenagers haughty, "I'm a Timekeeper, not a Sunlord." Aksaya showed a strong interest in both timekeeping and women of rank, talking to and seemingly looking up to several. Not all aspects of Timekeeper culture agreed with her, though.
Aksaya's talkative, friendly nature is known to cease the moment the topic of slaves come forwards. Aksaya/Uuni shows severe discomfort [2] during honor fights. When merely sighting a slave, Aksaya was never sure whether to keep staring or look away [3]. The strong opinion of the Timekeepers is slowly convincing her these slaves are not people, but the emotions and thoughts she garners through her powers contradict these thoughts. Prisoners from the Mountain Guard create a similar apprehension.
During Aksaya's first winter in the Timekeepers, she stayed close to Iver. The Sunlord female's eyes had never been so wide, and she kept her jaw firmly shut, unwilling to speak unless spoken to lest she say something out of line. It was after these new slaves were brought in that Aksaya presented her new name to Iver--a culmination of sounds she felt sounded Velskan. Those who still call her by Aksaya are interrupted with, "Uuni," and allowed to carry on as usual. Complete cultural assimilation may never occur, but the seer becomes more a Timekeeper and less a Sunlord every day.
Footnotes [1] This will produce a brief "tickle" of energy in the individual whose mind she's entering. Most wolves will attribute this to a light-bulb effect, as though they've suddenly had a very enlightening thought. Other, practiced seers are most likely to be familiar with this sensation.
[2] Discomfort shown by pinning her ears and raising her lip. Her tail, normally held in a confident beta or alpha position, also tucks under her body.
[3] This conflict is similar to how many see the homeless in modern society.
Relationships
Iver ♂ (Hopefolly): Uuni is rarely seen without the Timekeeper and rumors often claim she changed her name to appease him. In social gatherings, the seer seems to avoid the Timekeeper, talking light-hardheartedly with others, though she rarely manages this for long before Iver shows. However, talk of disloyalty is quickly crushed when Iver gives orders; Uuni follows them with no hesitation. Many believe that this loyalty is gained from emotional or physical abuse, but there is no evidence to back up these claims.
Madih ♂ (NPC): Ruthless barbarian sums this one up for Uuni, and is perhaps not an inaccurate account. Madih seemed more concerned that losing Uuni would give the Timekeepers further advantage in a war than he seemed concerned she might be scared. However, his unrelenting voice telling her not to trust any of the Timekeepers often still rings in her ears and seems to have had a profound effect on her behavior.
Kaina ♀ (NPC): One of Uuni's littermates, Kaina served as practice as Uuni strengthened her powers as an early adolescent. After only a few months, Kaina told the secret to another wolf. Still young and looking forwards to a full life in the Sunlords, Uuni is extremely resentful towards Kaina for telling anyone. Uuni insists that she would have told their parents about the powers in time, but that Kaina robbed her of a chance to grow up.
Raza ♀ (NPC): While Uuni's mother perhaps had her daughter's best interest at heart, Uuni finds her the opposite. She views her unwillingness of her mother to speak out for her staying for a little longer as both betrayal and cowardice. Uuni also unknowingly uses her mother as an excuse for her own, similar characteristics.

Pavati Homeland: Telk Languages: Telkish (Common) Gender: Female Personality Type: ISFJ Age: 2 years Colorist: JadeEye Previous Stages: Adolescent, Pup Parents: Kiros ♂ (Kaelyndra) & Jozi ♀ (Tristan Thorne) Siblings: Sade ♂ (Tristan Thorne)
Pavati treasures nothing more than the fantasy of hope. Her earliest memory is of the soft voice of her mother who possessed a round, calming face and a fully blue coat richer than the sky. Though she can remember very little else, she is confident her family was kind, loving, and misses her. Reuniting with this perfect family is at the forefront of her mind, and she often states she loves them despite only knowing them for a short time in her youth. Many of her stories and memories are in fact false, things she's created and changed slowly over time, but Pavati believes they are true.
Captured by Wren as an aged pup capable of surviving on meat, Pavati learned to rely on false hopes and positive attitude to get her through a constantly changing environment. Pavati was an exemplary prisoner, for lack of a better word, doing as she was told, showing no signs of talking back, and never attempting to escape. Her biggest folly was her chatter and need for attention.
Pavati is an extremely emotional character, and needs emotional and physical attention to feel safe. Around the more aloof Dakolin, Wren, and Iriana, the playful nudges and attempt to create a cuddling pile like a real family at night is likely enough to drive any wolf to aggravation. Without the emotional affirmation that she is cared for, Pavati often resorts to sulking.
Indeed, much of her time spent with Wren is done lying down, slightly distant as though to prove she doesn't need anyone. She can handle things on her own! But she can't. Without other wolves, Pavati collapses in a mental heap and becomes unable to function. As she grew, she clung to Wren like a leaf on a branch, hardly giving the thief room to breathe. The relationship was not an entirely selfish one, however.
Pavati does deeply care for Wren, Dakolin, and Iriana, even if they make her feel uncomfortable. When she asks how they're doing or pries into their lives, she's legitimately interested and concerned for their well-being. Though the idea of she herself committing theft, physical harm, or otherwise acting nefariously is something she has yet come to terms with, all ills done by the other three are excused in her mind. Weird and immoral as they may at times be, they raised her and cared for her, and Pavati will avidly proclaim she loves them.
Relationships
Dakolin ♂ (Hopefolly): Though he might decline to state as such, Dakolin acts as the leader to the group with which Pavati was raised. His quiet confidence, even in the face of danger, inspires Pavati who is often filled with doubt about her actions and how they affect the world. She looks up to Dakolin and greatly admires him to the point of having a childlike crush. Both to her delight and chagrin, Dakolin seems more or less disinterested with her.
Iriana ♀ (Kaelyndra): It's hard to form an opinion on Iriana that isn't "she's loud and has anger issues". As the only wolf below Iriana on the heirarchy order, Pavati often finds herself bossed or pushed around. As a result, she tends to avoid speaking or looking directly at Iriana.
Wren ♀ (Hopefolly): Pavati views Wren as a convoluted mixture of mother, sister, and estranged friend. Tasked with looking after her, Wren raised Pavati though argument could be made against whether or not she raised her well. Thankfully, Pavati's willingness to listen to orders exactly, stay out of trouble, and literally step in Wren's pawprints meant Pavati grew up a healthy, though troubled, wolf.
